I went to the ER for chest pain, SOB, jaw pain and light headedness. Was put in a hallway with a standalone monitor that no one was monitoring, had alerts for PVC's that no one followed up on and ignored for 90% of my visit. My symptoms are concerning but not to the ER staff who would rather ask if patients are mean instead of taking someone from the hallway to an empty room (which is nearly every room around me)Only decent person I encountered was Rich who took me back for my imaging. noone else cared.

This might be my first one-star review. I don t expend energy on those who behave like most of the ER staff I ve encountered during my five visits. Each time, I left feeling increasingly unwell.During my second visit I believe l, I was screened for alcohol withdrawal based on my history and billed for an expensive urinalysis(I mentioned being sober since April 22 but see photos for itemized charge)I was dismissed with instructions to return only if my condition worsened. It did worsen significantly. This hospital s negligence regarding serious medical issues makes the emergency department unsafe for those in need.I was confronted by charge nurse Brantley when I inquired about my lack of treatment while in a holding room , despite being severely dehydrated. EMS attempted to put the IV in my hand but I was too dehydrated and it failed.Side note, you get no quicker treatment if you have to call 911/MedStar. I m a little confused why THIS visit was considered a level IV visit- their highest tier at $1,965.56 and I literally got $5.99 in medication costs and not even an IV for fluids(yes, I ve been made aware about the shortage)Dr. Hardy abandoned my care, demonstrating a lack of empathy and trustworthiness. This ER will prove to you that their goal is hitting the bare minimum. Despite my troubling experiences, I continued to document each visit but often went alone, even though several times I was non verbal and advocating for myself in crisis was nearly impossible. I ve chosen to come alone to the ED, not because I don t have support but because I trusted BSW to treat my obvious symptoms. Instead, my history noted in my chart lead staff to view me skeptically, despite my sobriety for over two years. In a crisis, whether mental or physical, I felt unsafe here. You will too. I can t imagine the discrimination I d receive if I was less fortunate or had a different skin color. Seriously. After receiving quite a few intense and sudden diagnosis I mentioned my disautonomia/autonomic dysfunction. Dr. Jackson, a student, was my last doctor, overshadowed by Hardy s apparent reluctance to engage with me. My distress triggered judgment among the staff rather than compassion.I refuse to accept this treatment for myself or others. I will ensure my experiences, and those of others in my community, are known. I urge the staff at All Saints ED to learn to treat patients with dignity and understanding. Or go be a blogger or work at Target. People skills are the first skill you should possess before you even try to grasp the technical. Pretty obvious I thought. The reckless behavior exhibited by the inexperienced ED staff is concerning. If directness in communication is difficult for you, perhaps a position requiring care for others isn t suitable. Calling the police on a patient struggling to arrange an Uber in the early morning hours (while excruciatingly sick)reflects the department s inability to handle true cries for help.Despite my illness, I am committed to highlighting the systemic issues within this hospital and advocating for change. There were a couple of nurses who showed empathy, and they deserve recognition. My goal is to ensure that no one else faces such treatment. This hospital exemplifies the failures within the American healthcare system.Do better, All Saints ED.(PS- last photo is of my bill from UTSW in Dallas. I got more answers there AND was seen by an actual neuro there and because I didn t even ask for fluids, my ed visit was $446.Compared to $1,956 to even BREATH the air here. *forgot to mention- on top of being sick, I just suddently lost insurance in my divorce and have been waiting for COBRA to urgently process my coverage. There s no doubt in my mind they saw I didn t have insurance and refused to treat me with a balance on my account. What they don t know , is COBRA will retroactively pay for my visits. It really is a bad day to work for BSW All Saints.

Location

Accepted Insurance

Baylor All Saints Medical Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Worst service, bad really terrible. This is the worst review I've ever left I believe. They don't care or have doctor's/ specialist to take the referrals your primary doctor gives refers you to and sends your insurance Co for approval It's a maze of no help and no available doctors ( Jose Garcia) and his office doesn't care one bit, nope. He'd rather give you a scripted written excuse that's false, then actually help in anyway, none. No help in the slightest unless you consider the runaround help? Cus that's all you get here. Even after using there faulty app. He literally makes up stories excuse take no responsibility what so ever none even after you've spoke to his staff. This guys here for a pay check, not here to help you get the the referral he provides. No that's for sure! There not trying to help anyone except BSW!Not me not you. Even after they fail to send out referrals that took weeks to approve. They simply refuse to send the referral/paperwork to the specialist they referred to me in the first place! The Specialist was nice enough to call Jose Garcia's office and get the referral for me. But no Jose Garcia's office actually blocked the specialist that Jose Garcia's himself referred me too in the first place!!! Hello It's crazy. They giving there own Specialist a hard time for no reason, even though there office failed to send the actual referral over in the first place. There a complete mess and completely unhelpful. He wrote me and told me I should get another Doctor based on my situation basically and I will ! They actually give there own Specialist who reach out a hard time after they fail to do the send the referral-paper.There a bunch of sad clowns It's like dealing with the three stooges and getting no help, your sick and really really need help but they simply stuck in broken and ignore you. Don't even answer there own phone. Then hang up on you when after the receptionist at the hospital suggest you speak to her supervisor today. I can't make this up!Why am I even speaking to the hospital when I'm calling the doctors office directly??? Because they don't answer the phone! Your calls are sent to another dept in another building automatically, they avoiding you in every way. They just go on with there 3 stooges act and never actually help you. They have lots of false stories about how things should work but refuse to even make a simple call with you when they don't work that way and you wasted hours. There trained to just go on and on with there scripted stories (Lies). Your on your own believe me! I don't recommend BSW to anyone. If it's your only option then start working on another one ASAP! I'm calling my agent and Hummana and making a complaint-getting out of this low grade garbage getto, hell hole of a network.Complete lack of caring / needed medical services. Regardless that my insurance approved them weeks ago but can't actually send pre approved refurals out, NO!- Honestly they don't answer the phone, you'll see . The bottom very bottom, Good luck

David S. (Rn) is the most unconcerned Rn I've seen in a while. 7hr wait and counting. Now there taking my questions and concerns out on my loved one and refuses to call them back. ER is terrible and dismissive. Go some where else. Avoid at all cost. (Update) Once we got passed David S. The visit went much smoother, so my 1 star will be 3 stars.

My son had surgery this morning at 9 and was sent to recovery at 10:30 or so and we have been in the discharge until since then and he s been in severe pain since 12pm and NO ONE IS DOING A DAMN THING! They said they called the doctor and he sent orders for more powerful medicine over an hour goes by and still nothing. Now I was told that the nurse went to get it for him, that was now an hour. It s 2:10 and he s hurting and throwing up and nothing has been done. Don t ever bring your love ones here.
