I have had care here twice and both times I was very satisfied, Had a colonoscopy and everyone was very kind, explaining what was going to happen. Nurse had not trouble starting an IV, Dr was very kind. Next visit was an thyroid biopsy, the PA was so kind and the best and what he does, no pain at all. He calmed my fears completly.

Accepted Insurance

Cone Health Alamance Regional works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often used as a "step-down" option after you've completed a residential or inpatient program, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically involves a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for approximately 90 days. Programs offer structured programming that includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment varies among insurance providers.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Individuals in early recovery often require 24-hour clinical care in North Carolina. This supervised care typically includes medications to treat specific withdrawal symptoms, which vary based on the substance abused. For example, staff may provide sleep aids to treat insomnia in patients who are addicted to marijuana. For those overcoming a cocaine use disorder, anti-depressants may be prescribed to manage mood swings. Other medications may also be provided to treat addiction-related health issues.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

It hurts me to see such bad reviews of ARMC. We have lived here over 45 years and our family has used the ER for broken noses, ankles and sudden illness. We have always been treated with respect and great care. Sure we had to wait. ER visit is not who came next but who is in more need. We've also been inpatients at ARMC. All the staff were caring, knowledgeable and helpful. We are lucky to have a hospital nearby that can at least assess the problem and send us somewhere else if needed but we prefer to stay in Alamance county near family, friends and home.

Brenda, thank you for taking the time to share this positive review! We work hard to provide the best quality of care, and we appreciate your feedback. We hope you have a great day!

Brought my son in worth pneumonia. Waited for a while. Their snack machines are price gauging for nothing but junk. The only decent product was water and they were sold out. The waiting room had food debris in the chairs and on the floor. When I informed the admitting nurse of the mess, she shrugged like who cares. We were seen by a PA , not a doctor. She was nice and treated us fine. When we left that treatment room, I left a pair of 300.00 Maui jim sunglasses in the examination room. When I came back to get them, they were gone and no one knew anything. So medical personnel at this location also steal items from patients. Ty hey have ramped up security for t he public, but they should be watching the staff. I asked t he nurse in charge ,supervisor, to call me about my concern and , we can depend on Cone personnel not to do what they commit to. I never received a call. The attitude from t he medical staff is questionable at best. Don't bring anything nice when you have an health emergency and, in desperation, need to go to the ER at Cone Alamance hospital because it will dissappear and no one with see a thing. Liars and thieves.

I took my sister to the hospital on 10/18 for an injured toe, during triage my sister was asked her pain which she stated was an 8/10 she never received any pain meds the entire visit, after waiting in the ED waiting room for 4 hours for XRAY results which she was told would take only 45 mins she was assigned to a stretcher in the hallway of the ED. She was never greeted by any staff members. After about an hour of waiting on the stretcher in the hallway the doctor gave her the results of the XRAY snatched her sock of with no gloves and proceeded to touch her toe and told her to take Tylenol for the pain and we were sent home. I wouldn t return to this hospital even in the most emergent situation and it s the closest hospital to my home, I d risk my life and go to another hospital.

It is the worst place. I came to the emergency room because I have severe pain and I am pregnant and they have me waiting for more than 3 hours. I understand that there are more people but I am pregnant. It could be something really serious and they still tell me if I want to leave, it's okay

I worked here as an RN. This place is absolutely the most unsafe hospital I have worked at in 6 years. They only care about profits, not patients. They don't care about safe staffing at all. They lie about nurse to patient ratios. Reports for unsafe practices go unresolved. They baby this ER so much that they aren't even required to call report to floor nurses. Meanwhile, the patients they bring from the ED to floor are soaked in urine, blood hasn't been hung that was ordered for GI bleeders 6+ hours ago, blood sugars haven't been checked in 12 hours for diabetics, they bring up hypertensive urgency patients without BP med orders, etc etc. If you care about your loved ones, go somewhere else. This place is chronically understaffed for profit over patient. I warned you.

I do not recommend this hospital for patients that are truly sick. My nightmare begins soon after I was admitted. I feel the doctor, that was making the decisions for my care the first 3 or 4days of my 10 day stay, did not have a clue. My family watched as I was in horrific agony with no help in sight. Now as far as the nurses and techs, a few of them really showed compassion and concern for my well being.. A shout out to nurse Connie and Evans. Without them taking notice that I wasn't improving, I really believe my family would be planning a funeral, instead of my homecoming. Some of the nurses assigned to my care, really are my Angels. Thank God for my family, especially my care giving daughter and husband.

The staff in L&D were extremely rude! Also your policy for only allowing 2 people to be in the room ruined the birth of my grandchild for me. Your rude employee made me leave the room just as the baby was being born. I only had one chance to see my first grandson born and I was denied that. I will never return here for anything and will tell anyone I speak to to stay away from this place. Unbelievable!!
