About Walden Behavioral Care
Walden Behavioral Care had a location on University Drive in Amherst, Massachusetts. The facility was located in a two-story office building with a dedicated parking area for clients and staff. It’s located in close proximity to the Jones Library, restaurants and Lehrman Stadium, providing areas for relaxation, reflection and recreation during your recovery journey.
Walden is part of Monte Nido, which has provided behavioral health services since 2003. However, their Amherst location is closed.
Co-Occurring Eating Disorder and Substance Use Treatment
If you go to another Walden site, you’ll see that they specialize in providing treatment for eating disorders, but also provide services for mental health wellness, substance use issues and co-occurring disorders and offer referrals if you require additional care. They provide an integrated approach to your treatment in order to help you avoid relapsing while you’re in a vulnerable state. Individuals may have co-occurring substance use issues, which is often used as a coping mechanism to feel confident even though it’s harmful.
Stabilization to Address Addiction
If you’re experiencing a crisis situation, stabilization services are available to help get your symptoms under control. This will allow you to take the next steps in your recovery, which may include therapy and/or medication-assisted care provided through clinicians and your primary care team. All clients’ current needs and conditions are assessed during their admissions process.
A Two-Pronged Approach to Treatment
At Walden, they’re aware that addiction and mental health issues often overlap. They believe it’s important to focus on both conditions simultaneously and treat each condition with the same level of importance and care. The end goal is to help clients achieve lasting sobriety and overall healthier lifestyles.
