About U Turn For Christ

U Turn For Christ is an alcohol and drug rehab program in Payson, Arizona that provides addiction treatment services that focus on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Their services are for those who are aged 18 and older. Individuals ordered by the court are welcome to receive faith-based treatment at this location.

U Turn For Christ requires a minimum two-month commitment. Court-ordered individuals must participate in the program for a minimum of eight months. Their services include:

Residential Treatment
The residential program includes community service, Bible study, daily chores, morning devotional practices, and regular meetings. Clients do not participate in psychological treatment or 12-Step meetings. The program focuses extensively on faith, God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ as the way to overcome addiction.

Private Insurance

If a person is interested in using insurance for treatment, calling the insurance carrier helps determine benefit coverage. This is important because out of network benefits may vary from treatment center to treatment center.

We were fortunate enough to have three of the young men from U-Turn for Christ come and clear our yard of weeds and then move gravel off the yard to lay down a weed barrier (after the handyman we hired didn't bother to put one down when he spread the 1" gravel). I cannot praise the work they did enough! The yard looks immaculate and could not look any better. The three workers had so much to do and yet they finished in less than 5 hours. Thank you, guys, for all your hard work. I recommend them to all of Payson and you will truly benefit from their professionalism.

I can't speak about the rehab program itself but I can speak to the unprofessionalism of the one in charge - Pastor Joe, as he likes to call himself. He is in charge of the people & their work being done out in the community. We hired them to put in pavers for a new patio area. The guys were nice enough but completely incompetent to do the small 80sqft area for $300. Didn't even have a level much less use one - on a patio! They made a mess of the border rocks and left the pavers so unlevel, we had to use all kinds of ground spacers to make the garden arch bench seat and surrounding pots stand halfway straight. Texted Joe about the poor job - he swung by & agreed it should be redone. He sent a different crew the 2nd time who knew what they were doing. Not a perfect re-do but way better than what the initial crew left us with. I had previously spoke with Joe and a couple workers about doing a small stoop for the garage. Joe said $150 for 4 hours. I kept texting him about the job and dates for weeks (as my hubby was going to work alongside them to make sure it was done right) with no response - over and over and over. I have at least a dozen texts that were ignored by this guy. My hubby spoke with one of the workers about the stoop as well. The guy said he'd talk with Joe and get back to us. He never did. Anyway, I texted yet again today and he finally deemed me worthy of a response - it's now $200 for 3 hours! When I said that was not the price we agreed on, he proceeded to gaslight me - all across the board. Apparently he is single handedly keeping 16 guys fed, paying the bills for 20 of them as well, he and his wife work for free, times are tough, he gets 50 calls a day, the re-do of the bad paver job was done for free so that's how great he is, he charges half what everyone else does, he 's dumping us cuz he doesn't want "friction", he's not greedy - simply trying to bless us (for real!), etc. ad-nauseum. Did he actually up his prices as he claims now, or was this just special for us seeing as he had to send out another crew to fix the bad job of the first crew? Oh and then this - it's people like me that make his ministry tough, I'm being harsh by calling him out and no, he's definitely not mistreating me. It's all in writing. Bottom line - this Joe person is the biggest victim I've ever encountered and like someone said in another comment - as passive aggressive as they come. And apparently laughs about it! If true, this indicates one sick individual. He is unresponsive to texts for weeks at a time, he gaslights, he uses "Pastor" as a protective shield from criticism and he is incompetent at what he does. To be honest, I feel bad for these workers and anyone paying their hard earned money to have a decent job done. Not to mention being unfortunate enough to have to see and deal with the dark side of Joe...

A couple of guys helped me moved and it was the worst experience I ever had. They break items, lose items, and items blow out of the open trailer without a care in the world for your possessions!!! Doesn t Amit his wrong doings. Says I won t tell if you don t tell. The big guy is very passive aggressive behavior, and laughs and jokes about it. He needs some severe mental help. He plays around, doesn t work, makes the other guy do almost all the work as he stands by and watches, criticism s, he acts very superior, and plays boss while he orders his slave around! The big guy will try to convince you he s done this many times and know what he s doing and is good at moving when he won t take suggestions, just says let me do this. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else! After a phone conversation with the pastor the day after this original post who mind you wasn t there for the move and had never met me. He goes off on me accusing me of different untruths and obviously standing behind his in recovery big guy. He threatens to take me to court. I m thinking ya let s put this big guy under oath. Lol! Watch a big guy crumble. So I realize that the big guy is now a liar and a hypocrite too and know this conversation with a Christian based recovery pastor place is going no where and inform him this conversation is done and I m going to hang up now! So I did hang up. Then this obviously very angry pastor sends me a text which not wanting to waste any more of my time I don t read but I did block this Christian pastor from any further contact. Sick guy!!As I stated earlier don t hire these guys for anything! If this is the treatment I get never having any dealings with them before God only knows what they re capable of doing!BEWARE!! Bad guys, bad place, they don t understand first thing about business and treatment of their customers or people.Never again will I hire them and you can bet I ve spread the word of how I ve been treated.May God know these truthful words spoken here and I m willing to go under oath of everything I ve stated here. Thanks for reading.

Accepted Insurance

U Turn For Christ works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

dollar-outline iconFinancing available

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Submit to a recovery process is always better if you go hand with hand with the name of Christ. Only bad thing is that I've seen a lot of bad situations for people that visit the center. I cannot say more.

I never actually finished the program. But, God knows I did take part in it. For that, I would've given it five stars. And, if I want to be honest with myseself, I am willing to give the program a thousand stars. I just hope I would've been more mature.I didn't have to leave. I did it out of me own accord. I just couldn't handle the pressure. I mean, me following the rules to pint point. And others breaking them left and right.A young vato/dude can only take so much. 'Some Pastor's son shows up trying to lay down the law on me when he wasn't even fully aware of what had happened between me and this other guy whom pastor Jimmy had appointed him to be his right arm!'I was back from a long trip with Peter. We had to drive to and back up Tonto Rim. IT took us nearly eight hours to deliver the furniture. By the time we were back, we were beat. Then we had to get ready for church service. Peter went into the shower. I went into the kitchen trying to fix us something for us to eat before church. This kid. Son of some famous pastor from some french city in California stepped up to me and called me out.I have had it. Driving all day long through rough terrain thinking if we were going to make it back to have this clown call me out!I just couldn't take it no more.Pastor Jimmy did try to talk me out of leaving But, it was too much for me.Later, they found me in the hospital dying of alcohol poison.I remember pastor Joe and ol sister Juanita. I cried. One thing I did pick up while I was up there: the lady who played the piano played a toon which reminded me when I was very young. Perhaps two or three years old back in California.
