About Turning Point Residential Services

Turning Point Recovery Resources is an alcohol and drug treatment center for adult men in Gainesville, Georgia. They have a 12 month residential program that helps you and other guys overcome drug addictions.

It’s cool that their treatments are based on the 12 Step model. They don’t just treat your obvious physical symptoms. Instead, they also tackle your mental, emotional and spiritual needs so you recover as a whole person.

When you’re first admitted, you’ll be given a total assessment. This gives your team the chance to learn more about you and create a custom plan based on your needs. Once you start, your providers will monitor your progress weekly to make sure everything’s going well. They’ll make adjustments as you go along to keep you on the right track.

A few of the services they offer here include individual and group counseling and relapse prevention classes. In addition, they’ll provide rides to offsite 12 Step meetings.

One unique thing about them is how modern and high end their site is. It’s a green building, which means it was built using sustainable materials. It’s also neat that the unit managers live onsite with the residents to give you all a sense of safety and security.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to receive addiction treatment while continuing to work and reside at home. Many programs offer evening, night, and weekend services so that clients may receive treatment on their own schedule. Outpatient treatment modalities typically include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Many programs also provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services, to align with clients' evolving needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Aftercare, which is sometimes referred to as continuing care or relapse prevention, is a type of structured care meant to help you continue with the progress you've made after completing an addiction treatment program. Most of the time, you'll continue receiving support after a treatment program by partnering with their case managers and staff to identify and access the resources you need to remain sober.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I have seen more drugs passed through the residency than I have ever cared to see. Who would think that cocaine and WOP would be over looked by the director.

This facility does not even deserve a 1 star. Do not place family/loved ones here. The people who run this place are not focused on helping people they rather have you fail. The living conditions are so bad and they make the residence clean up damages that they should be taking care of or they get punished. Issues can be addressed for months without any fixes. They are big on terminating someone just because they are in a mood versus having a valid reason. You will never know if one day they will just up and decide you are gone. They play with peoples lives. All they care about is all the money they can take from you. Do not come to this facility if your completion of the program relies on everything, find somewhere else.

I was released from the county jail after serving six months because of my addiction. I never once in my life thought I needed a program to make myself better. I thought I could handle things on my own, but with addiction that's never the case. I recently graduated turning point and can honestly say it's the best decision I've in my adult journey. For any program to work you have to want it, at first I wasn't so sure but as I stuck through the program I learned how to start taking responsibility of my own life. I've never been able to maintain a job, pay Bill's, just never grew up I guess. I'm now graduated the program with my own car, a job I love , and a different outlook on life sober. If you want to start living a good life sober turning point has the resources and staff that truly want to see you succeed

I walk through the doors at turning point in 2015 after doing a little over six months incarcerated. At that time and even after I graduated I did not completely comprehend the scope of what Turning Point was to me and what exactly it did for me. I walked in to the door with a single bag of clothes and some toiletries. I had totally destroyed my life up until that point. I had nothing and almost no one other than my mother and a few really good friends that I consider my brothers. The day I walked into turning point... was the turning point in my life. Chance Mike and Curtis are amazing guys that put there heart and soul into that program and into helping the men that need them. No they're not always going to be your best friend no they're not always going to be nice. However, they were exactly what I needed and who I needed help me. The program is not overly pushy it is not overly religious it is about living life on life's terms. I graduated 2016 1 year after I entered the program but I wasn't quite ready to leave and Chance knew that so he allowed me to stay for an additional six months. That extra time really helped me get my life going again. I walked in the door with almost nothing no license no vehicle no job no career. However, when I left Turning Point I had all of those things back and I still do to this day with many more blessings. Today I'm clean and sober I have a great career an amazing company I own my home I own my vehicles I pay my bills and I am a productive member of society. That is something I honestly never thought I would get back before I went to Turning Point. And yes I am an addict I have had a couple minor slip-ups since I left the program. But the knowledge and tools that I gained during my time in Turning Point helped me to be able to move past those incidence on my own. I Still talk to Mike Chance and Kurt to this day. I've told them before but I would definitely tell them again I am eternally grateful for their support their friendship their love and care of their fellow man. If not for them and if not for turning point I would probably not be alive today. If you know somebody struggling with addiction please get them some help somewhere if you can. Call Turning Point because I know even if Chance can't help he will do whatever he can help find them someone who can.

Turning Point cares about your future an gets you prepared for the adulting that comes with an everyday sober life. Everyone there is serious about their sobriety and is there to help you along your new journey. Chance an the staff are still a great friend to this day. I will always love this program an what it did for me an if your reading this then go try it you will love what it can do for you.

I spent the majority of my adult life in and out of jail breaking the law hurting my family and everyone around me due to my addiction. It was a little more two years ago I was court ordered to residential recovery and two programs I was in got shut down so I transferred to turning point and it was probably the best decision I made in my life I didn't have a license or a car just the clothes on my back. I walked to work everyday and saved saved saved and Without the structure and guidance they provided I most certainly wouldn't be we're I am today! I've been clean over two years now I own two vehicles, I have my own home, I'm married I have a great job and a halfway decent credit score that keeps increasing. I see a few of these other reviews and they really are the farthest thing from the truth ! If you follow the programs requirements and make a modest attempt to succeed in life the possibilities of your success are endless. But it's not up to turning point if you succeed they are there to help you every step of the way but it's a recovery program not a daycare and if you have no desire to put forth the effort and hard work then don't expect to make it. I was at the bottom of the barrel with my family expecting to find me back in prison or a morgue and here I am two years clean and counting and I firmly believe that it wouldn't be possible without the help of turningpoint !
