This hospital is genuinely terrible. I was admitted on two separate occasions a little over a year ago on the adolescent floor. The main doctor should be out of a job in all psychiatric care. He is terrible at his job. He would say things that left people feeling worse and dread their daily visit with him. The nurses were hit or miss. Some were very kind, others were extremely uneducated in the mental health field apparently. The mental health technicians were again, hit or miss. There were a few in particular who once again seemed to lack the skills to care for mentally ill, struggling, or in crisis adolescents. As for the unit therapists, it s complicated. The main one I spoke to was phenomenal at her job however i barely got to speak to her so it was pointless. The person that helps the most is the person you see the least. Interesting. The unit head nurse was also very unkind and unprofessional. She and the doctor did not truly care for patients. They just wanted hurting kids out. They did not genuinely listen. In fact, the head doctor showed me a text conversation between him and the head nurse which consisted of them arguing over if I should be allowed to stay. Ultimately, I was discharged and have never felt any better since. There s so much more I could say but that would take too much time. I m not going to give anyone a call because I know they don t care based off of how the place operates. Additionally, the recreational therapists didn t seem to pleased with their jobs either. Basically the entire stay consists of hearing the same thing over and over with a group of other struggling teens just feeding off of each other s struggles. All they say is use coping skills, stop this, stop that. I get more information from google. This place lacks sincerity and true help. If you can go to a better place, do it. If this is your only resort to keep yourself safe, God bless you.

This facility is a joke. My kid ended up being there for 21 days. She loved it there and told her social worker, Mrs. Jennifer, that she would end her life if they sent her home so we ended up sending her to an actual residential facility. After picking her up and them giving me her notebooks and folder, I now completely understand why she loved it. It was a vacation for her! She got to do whatever she wanted there and all she did was draw pictures and write notes in morse codes which I spent the time decoding and it was just threats against the doctors and staff and herself. A WHOLE 4 NOTEBOOKS FULL OF EVIL SCRIPTURES AND INAPPROPRIATE ANIME PICTURES OF KILLING AND SELF HARM. How the heck did she get away with this on a daily bases? The social worker was rude and lied about communication with my insurance company because I called my insurance company and asked if they received any calls because all incoming calls are saved on a log and they said they received NO calls regarding my child. Bottom line is 21 days in, no help. Just made things WORSE and the social worker is a rude lady with zero care or respect for the patients or parents who actually care about a solution not a temporary fix. I will call, email and talk to anyone and everyone I can to make sure these problems are known to the highest echelon.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) receive robust, personalized care to support their reintegration into their community. Clients stepping down from inpatient treatment frequently enroll in IOP before entering standard outpatient care or community-based recovery programs, such as AA. Intensive outpatient treatment generally involves between nine and 20 therapeutic hours weekly, with the frequency and duration of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. IOP services commonly include counseling, recovery education, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
12-step icon12-Step
When enrolld in an addiction recovery program that's based on the 12 step model, clients are able to cultivate recovery-focused life skills emphasizing spiritual, mental, and emotional healing. Participants receive intensive peer support in 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, open to the public, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors guide sponsees through the recovery journey, cultivating self-awareness, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, participants aren't required to be religiously affiliated.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
To keep you safe and comfortable during the detoxification process, a medically assisted detox provides you with a team of medical professionals who can provide the necessary medications to treat any potential withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly stopping chronic abuse of substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Your therapist will help you understand the physical and emotional responses that can develop after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. While engaged in couples therapy in Tennessee, you'll learn how to trust, communicate, forgive, and manage emotions. Developing these skills can be beneficial at any time during the relationship, but they are particularly crucial when facing life challenges.

Family therapy uses a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction and the negative influences it has on the family unit. Therapists work with family members to develop effective coping and communication strategies that support their loved one's recovery while also focusing on the health and well being of each family member.

My son was transferred to the adolescent floor a few weeks ago from a rehab facility nearby. As a parent who lives 6 hours away and has never experienced a mental health facility the adolescent floor took WONDERFUL care of my son and helped eased our hearts while we waited on visitation/discharge information. He was allowed to call home everyday, we were able to call and check in on him whenever and the nurses were always welcoming and willing to help ease our concerns. The kindness that they offered from admittance to the discharge nurses exceeded our expectations. My son felt heard and cared for there. The doctor listened and suggested what would be best for him. They helped stabilize him and put him on meds that offered relief. My only hiccup was the initial case worker who thought she could use a special tactic to help him understand his situation and where he was coming from was a bad place. I don t feel like it was the best thing for her to be offering. Was she concerned for my son and his future? Of course, just needed to be handled a little differently. Was it a deal breaker no? My son continues to praise the care he received during his 5 day stay and says it was very helpful to him. It makes my husband and I feel at ease knowing that he was getting the proper and gentle care he needed while in a different state away from us.

It honestly be nice not to give this hospital. Any stars but being nice I just gave one. My name is Caitlyn Ford, and the last five weeks I have unfortunately been at that hospital for more than five days Dr. Ekko was very short and wants to get you out of there without really getting to the source of the problem. The nurses literally don t know what they re doing to the point where I already have a medical condition I have a colostomy bag and those five weeks I was there, they were touching me trying to change my colostomy bag every day of the day they taped it using when my skin would burn, an acid would get to my skin to the point where my skin is literally ripped off my body that the bag I have now won t stay. I m talking about none of them in excruciating pain. I understand they re not medical nurses, but they shouldn t of acted like medical nurses and especially if I don t change my bag at home why would I change it 1000 times in one day there and then they tried to tell you, your pain scale, which you knew about your body one time I even thought that a medicine I was taking was making me more psychotic than I already am they did not remove me off of the medicine my last time I stayed there November 13 till last Tuesday and I was discriminated against about my bag. They even went as far as not letting me go to groups. I was on the side with people that are paranoid schizophrenic when all I am is literally just stressed all the time to the point where I mentally depressed , I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. Not even Satan I hope in the coming days you change what you re doing oh and there is a guy named David there. I m a Christian everybody believes in something but I do not think it s appropriate to paint your believes on somebody that s already depressed. It makes it worse whoever s reading this. Please take notes sign me in 1 million other patients who feel the exact same way. Have a blessed night. Oh let s not forget there is a nurse named Dj. Dj was very rude like I m not a robot you can talk to me like a person and she put her hands on me. Once again, would not recommend this to anybody

1. Head nurse, I waited for you to talk to me about the other nurse and doctor switching my room because my treatment even though I wanted a more detailed answer because I liked that room. The Batman building was in my view in the window and it brought family memories (They moved my room because I was talking to my friend in the next door room in the hall during quiet time, but was to scared to tell me )2. My friend also had a problem with this place, when she was crying no nurses helped the only thing they did was shut her in a room because she was distracting for other patients the only person who talked to her and HELPED her was the janitor? Janitor?! Yeah I said that right. Pathetic, your getting paid at least try to do your job your getting paid more then a janitor and she is more helpful then the nurses here.3. My room got switched after I wanted to talk to the head nurse and I fell asleep because she was taking a while and I wasn t leaving my room because, I didn t trust them. I woke up from my nap and ate dinner went back to my room. The doors locked. I m furious, right after I waited for that head nurse that didn t even show up. Y all pack my stuff and lock my doors? So I was upset and you could clearly see I was upset, a older women nurse who I talked about my room after she told me The move was successful and she came up checking on me and my friend was there to because she checked up on me first of course because she cares more then those nurses did. And my friend started having a argument with her which I don t blame her for it because I told the older women to why I didn t want my room moved she knew and still did it. Two other nurses came and talked with us which surprisingly led thing on and made it more intense until they were saying that I needed to make my own decisions. Ha! You are the ones that moved me out of my room when I still wanted to talk to the head nurse about it, didn t hear my side and just wanted to do it your way mhm. I went with them either way because I knew that if I didn t it will end with me being held down and getting shot on the bottom which happens to me before in a mental hospital when I was 12 at the time. When I went here I was 16 still am.I went to the other room to talk stuff out I guess their definition of talking stuff out is Here is your room no refunds all my stuff was in there packed in the brown bags. I was still upset so what I did was hide in the bathroom because they have a camera in our rooms never went to a mental hospital where our rooms had a camera, anyway I would put a towel underneath the door and it would shut all the way. I stayed in there for a while one nurse came in there with a attitude so I gave one right back she walked out and open my door telling me to keep it open. I shut the door when she walked away from my view and I knew eventually that I big person was going to come up in my room because I was not listening to what they said to me and I was right. So I m going to call out this girls name Ann. Well Ann and this other big dude which both of them are pretty big came at my bathroom standing there and the big dude was talking more but Ann she was acting all mad but I didn t even do anything to her, while the dude who was talking to me telling me how I m being so disrespectful and talking about his past. So they walked out of my room until a actual nice nurse came in there and talked to me got me out of the bathroom and hang up some Batman tower papers on the wall. But seriously before talking to a child that s already having intense emotions check yours because anger and anger doesn t die down anger just makes things more intense.4. Now Ann you have your own paragraph. Yay anyway after that happened and things died down I went in the room where the nurses station was there to take my vitals and I was next in line mrs Ann was giving vitals she noticed me and saw that I had a journal in my hand and she said Not on my watch, journals don t go in the day room. Go take that back to your room I wasn t even in the day room?

This place is terrible. SOME of the staff are sweet hearts but the rest do not care at all. The doctors absolutely do not care, they don't listen, I saw the doctor once the whole time I was there and all he did was put me on medicine that hasn't helped anything with a ton of side effects that he didn't warn me about. You are nothing but a number and a pay check to these people.
