About The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, located in Davenport, Iowa, assists locals in overcoming drug abuse. They offer spiritual, social and emotional support to individuals through a 180 day residential work therapy program.

Individuals typically participate in the program at no cost, once the center’s staff members have concluded that it can suitably address the applicant’s needs. There is no need for insurance. Adults must be between the ages of 21 to 65 to participate in the program. Upon arrival, participants must pass a drug test and breathalyzer, and they must be able to complete a work therapy assignment for a maximum of eight hours per day. Timetables can be modified to accommodate each participant’s needs.

Residents must consent to take part in all program activities such as classes, counseling sessions and worship services. While participants seek to identify the underlying causes and symptoms of their alcohol and drug abuse, they receive housing, food and counseling. They are also provided a sense of community and employment opportunities.

Residents learn to give up substance use through holistic work therapy, group and individual counseling sessions, spiritual guidance and life skills development. The program’s spiritual and physical elements give participants the tools they need to support themselves while they establish and uphold goals for long term employment.

Through cultivating a close relationship with God through Jesus Christ, residents learn to rely on God for solace instead of using drugs or alcohol. Once their families are reunited with them, many individuals who have received rehabilitation are able to return to their regular healthy routines.

As a component of the global Christian Church, they identify as evangelical. Their teaching is predicated on the Bible. They provide for human needs without bias. Every year they provide aid to about 25 million Americans. They provide services in 130 different nations worldwide. They have more than 1. 5 million members who are adherents, soldiers and officers. They have been serving the communities since 1865. Every year, the Salvation Army provides the necessary resources for more than 150,000 individuals to overcome addiction.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Amazingly different than the other one right down the street! The lady that helped me was really sweet, helpful and patient!! So thankful for that! I was trying to reach out to a family member who I knew would love to see a couple of things they had but after 2 hours of shopping in a tiny store and waiting for a response I had to leave....lately almost every time I go to the thrift shops around the employees are rude, judgmental, and suspicious. For someone who struggles with even leaving their home even for a few minutes it's not the kind of experience that I hope for...but today that sweet, beautiful and kind woman made me feel like I was a VALUED CUSTOMER..
