About Sunrise Detox Orlando

Sunrise Detox is a drug and alcohol detox facility in Orlando, Florida. They strive to give patients a nurturing environment to help minimize the discomfort of withdrawal symptoms. Medical staff provide 24 hour supervision to ensure the safety and well being of the client. In addition to detoxification, other services available at this facility include group therapy, individual counseling and 12 Step meetings. There are also a variety of amenities at Sunrise Detox, such as furnished resident rooms with private bathrooms and gourmet meals and snacks. The facility has accreditations from The Joint Commission and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Staff members work to get clients set up for treatment as quickly as possible. Individuals can call the office, and the admissions team will collect information such as insurance and transportation. When a patient is checked in, they’ll be evaluated by a clinician, and a treatment strategy will be created based on personal history, current medical conditions and what substances are in a client’s bloodstream. After this process is completed, the patient is escorted to their room to begin detoxification. The facility can help with detoxing from a variety of drugs, including stimulants, narcotics and opiates.

I like that this location has a veterans program that provides addiction treatment tailored to veterans. They collaborate with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs providers to make sure that their treatments deal with a veteran’s unique healthcare needs.

Sunrise Detox also offers intervention services to families concerned about a loved one’s addiction. Expert interventionists will come up with a strategy and be there to guide the conversation. If the individual agrees to treatment, family members can contact the facility to book a spot for them to begin treatment.

Accepted Insurance

Sunrise Detox Orlando works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

I am reaching out to anybody, who's HIPAA and civil rights have been violated by sunrise detox either in fort Lauderdale or in West Palm Beach. You need to reach out to the Florida department of children and families website, they oversee the detox programs. You also need to reach out to the US department of health and human services the office for civil rights, because I suspect whatever it is that they do in fort Lauderdale they're doing it the other locations. Do not be a victim reach out and report these people for what they are doing.

Sunrise Orlando is a good place, Haley is a total sweetheart counselor who genuinely cares, and when I was going through it and needed her she never made me feel like I was bothering her. All counselors are super cool. Corey is inspiring. The techs are all amazing people too, I could be feeling horrible and Will can always cheer me up with his great sense of humor and you can tell he genuinely cares and he likes his job. All the nurses are super cool and drop dead gorgeous, no nurse ratchets to have to deal with like at state run hospitals. They understand the disease of addiction, and they work in the field because they care and they really do their best to help you feel better. Dale is super cool, absolute gentleman and just a good dude. Idk why people lie on reviews and say that they can t get ahold of anyone after they leave. I have called down twice since coming home last week and got right through and was able to let the nurses know I was doing good, staying sober, and grateful for the help. Now some of the food isn t great, but I have to be honest I m bougie, and more snacks and choices of snacks would be good, those detox meds can give you the munchies! The chicken noodle soup and vegetable soup or some of the best soups I ve ever had after my daughters soups of corse. The nurse practitioner Leo is super cool, super knowledgeable, and really cares, I was SO NERVOUS about starting my sub maintenance again because I always get thrown into precipitated withdrawals even for five days out!He was the 1st person to ever explain to me that people who are snorting stuff sometimes have it hang out in the system longer because stuff can get caught in the mucous membranes. Where with IV users it runs through the system quicker. Which totally made sense and he was able to provide me with a saline rinse 3x a day to help clean the devils dust out of my nose. The place is beautiful and clean, I would tell the cleaning ladies every day yo te caro mucho (probably spelled that wrong) everyday and tell them that their job is just as important as everyone else s and how nice it was to be in such a clean and nice place. TV s in the rooms are a God send! There s nothing worse then detox s who turn PBS off (which is all they have) at 10pm because there s nothing worse then not being able to sleep through withdrawals and not having access to TV or music to help distract you from being in your head all night which just causes me to think about wanting to get high. There are GOOD PEOPLE AT THIS DETOX WHO ACTUALLY ENJOY THEIR JOBS AND WANT TO HELP PEOPLE! My wife is a therapist and works in the field with her private practice and since we found Sunrise she has been consistently referring people down there. It honestly is a staff of beautiful Angels who are there to help you while your there, and help you get set up with what you ll need once you leave. I m not a big 12 step guy, but I heard a tech say if you can make a meeting in your 1st 24 hours of getting out your chances of staying sober and getting it, go up 100% . So I hit an NA meeting, raised my hand and asked for help and a sponsor and I met some of the coolest people and I ve made a meeting every day since I left. In my opinion EVERYONE there deserves a raise because they are such kind, caring and helpful people. The only person I didn t particularly understand was the other Dr or nurse practitioner Sheeneka. I have been on/off sub maintenance since it 1st came out I m the orange octagon pill form 25 or so years ago! I was approved for maintenance. But on the morning I was released Shanika would not give me a morning dose. Causing me to go into full bloom withdrawal again until my wife got there at 11:30 with one of my prescribed subs. Boy was she pissed she said you look like your it worse withdrwl now did you did when you first came in after two days clean. It scared her big time. Shanika wouldn t even give me an explanation or even check on me she put my sobriety and life at risk, along with the life of my children s father and wife s husband! I ll never understand why?

Update: The provider replied, arguing misinformation in my review; there is none. I can name names and dates. I have not stated that I've been given medication by anyone other than the nurses. What I clearly described was one of their counselors volunteered to bring me Ativan. As that counselor did not show up at the facility between that meeting and the day I was discharged; there was no dispensing.I stand by my review.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The facility is beautiful and very clean; the day room is comfortable, and everything works. There are TVs in all rooms and a big screen in the day room. The restrooms are squeaky clean. The food is very good, and the chef is great, not only as a chef but as a person. The techs are fabulous. Amazing people who diligently do their work and go above and beyond to help you.The place is run by the "counselors," who don't do any counseling at all; they facilitate meetings and do paperwork. You are not allowed to use your cellphone unless you ask a counselor to bring it for you, and you cannot leave the counselor's office while using your the phone. BUT THERE IS AN EXCEPTION. For an extra $1000/day, you are allowed to keep your phone in your bedroom.Almost all the nurses are compassionate, good-hearted human beings. They do everything they can to make you comfortable. The nurse practitioners... well, they are "special." They work at the facility half a day (when they show up), and you need an appointment to see them. They are inflexible and behave as if they were a royal. One of the male nurse practitioners couldn t answer a single question and had the habit of entering our rooms in the morning, unannounced. Patients were caught in their rooms by said nurse while changing their clothes. And no, he never knocked. Before you leave the facility, they tell you you will receive a 30-day worth of medications, but when you are discharged, you only get enough meds for two weeks. You are expected to book an appointment to see a doctor within two weeks, which is only sometimes possible. They seem to forget that we are not just patients; we re clients. They have those jobs because we are paying their salaries. People who check into detox clinics are already vulnerable and fragile; they should be treated with compassion. Just after I was discharged, Hurricane Ian hit the region, closing the entire area for a week. Still, no exceptions; two weeks' worth of medications is all they gave me, no exceptions. They use OLD STYLE paper scripts, instead of calling in the pharmacy. One of my scripts was wrong. Whoever wrote the script prescribed 200mg of Gabapentin, only available in 100mg, and 300mg, which delayed the processing by the pharmacy. The correct prescription should be 100mg x 2. That delay caused me bad withdrawal symptoms. I went from 6 pills/day to zero, cold turkey. It took me more than ten days to recover. Another script was unreadable. I was so dizzy, drowsy, and unstable that I could only walk holding on to the wall. One of my friends came to stay with me because I could not get up from the couch. I couldn t even remember my phone number or birthday. I lost my high-paying job.If you need anything from them after you leave, forget about it. I called Sunrise multiple times to ask them to correct the scripts. They rarely answer the phone.Worse: The Friday before I was discharged, my counselor told me she understood my anxiety was real and OFFERED to bring me Ativan for me to try since her friend had a prescription. I had not asked her for any meds. I was going through severe anxiety due to detox from Xanax. Later, that same Friday, that counselor stopped by the day room to bring her patients greeting cards. She sat next to me and whispered that she would stop by the clinic the next day, Saturday, to get me the Ativan. She never showed up, and I never saw her again.Upon my discharge, my blood pressure was 220/145. And I had no idea about the withdrawal hell that was still to come.

Hi Karla, First, we want to make it crystal clear, the only staff who administer medications are our nurses. While we always appreciate feedback of any kind, there is a great deal of misinformation in your review. Please feel free to call us directly to discuss any elements of your stay that there may have been a misunderstanding about or that we can help you better understand. We wish you all the best!

We called because it was 9pm and we weren't sure if there was any assistance this late in the evening. The gentleman communicated that they had a bed available and to bring the patient in, we told him we'd be there in 45 minutes due to the drive time. Upon arrival they communicated the last bed was taken and they turned us away.

This place not only changed my life it literally saved my life. I was on a dark and dangerous path that only lead one of two places, jail or death. I check myself in January 10th 2024, and it is the best decision I've ever made. The entire staff is amazing from the directors, to techs, to the nurses, to the chefs and cleaning staff. They made me feel comfortable and safe while I was trying to figure out my substance abuse issues. If any of my friends or family were struggling like me, this is where I would recommend sending them. The food is fantastic, the beds and rooms are comfortable, the staff is second to none, and my overall experience is one I will be grateful for, for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone that works here for helping me in my journey and road to recovery.
