About Sunrise Detox Ft. Lauderdale

Sunrise Detox is a detox center for adults that offers medical detox from drugs and alcohol. They have therapeutic support during detox for any co-occurring mental health disorders. They’re located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

They accept a wide range of insurance, though they don’t take Medicaid. Medicare policies change often so reach out to them about their current policy if you have Medicare.

The detox they offer is medically guided to keep you safe while reducing uncomfortable symptoms. Detox differs depending on the type of substance and how much you use. While detoxing, you’ll have around the clock care and appropriate medications if necessary.

While undergoing detox, you’ll be in a fully furnished room with a private bathroom. You may share the room with one other person, but no more than that. If you need a private room, there’s an extra charge. There’s a chef on staff providing nutritious, well balanced meals and snacks. You’ll have access to an outdoor break area and a lounge with games and a television.

If you have a drug or alcohol use disorder, it’s not uncommon to have a co-occurring mental health issue. Drug and alcohol use is a way of coping with mental health challenges for a lot of people. Some co-occurring disorders are attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

During detox, you’ll have one-on-one therapy, group therapy, and peer mentoring. They’ll work to diagnose any mental health disorders and assist you in addressing them with the proper coping skills. They’ll help you work on an aftercare plan since detox is only the first step on your path to sobriety.

There’s also optional group therapy that meets twice a day. Group therapy offers a safe place to be vulnerable and gain insight into your substance use. Group therapy also helps reduce tension, emotional distress, and feelings of shame. There are 12 Step meetings in the evening if you wish to attend. Peer guidance groups are offered and that’s a good way to connect with others farther along the path to sobriety while meeting with behavioral health specialists.

This place is absolutely disgusting. I didn t even finish the tour before I decided I m not staying there. The vending machines were literally completely empty except for powdered laundry detergent. It s extremely dirty and the pictures must ve been from when it was brand new because I just left and trust me. It doesn t look like that. I flew from Jacksonville to this place. There was absolutely no way. It has a very jail/ mental hospital lock down feel. Don t be deceived by Patrick on the phone or the pictures because it s filthy. It is the furthest thing from a Luxury facility.

The nursing staff and techs at night were extremely hateful and racist , they lied and said i didnt want my meds at night denied and nurse named (Cici) huffed and puffed purposely looking away from me and denying my medication and antibiotics for a spider bite. I told her it's not my problem that your miserable at your job... well so much for that, she sure made it my problem.. the two most racist techs got into my face making me feel threatened, told them to get out of my face, they got closer. Then said you know what I don't got to put up with you. Leave i left by slamming the milk carton I had.THIS IS ALL BECAUSE CICI DIDNT WANT TO DO HER JOB, ESPECIALLY MOST IMPORTANT MY ANTIBIOTICS.

Accepted Insurance

Sunrise Detox Ft. Lauderdale works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

I was discharged from your facility on the 19th of July, yet a week before I suffered dental injury from a foreign object that was inside of the food I was fed. The nurses said that they took a picture and put it into the computer and the cook also examine the object and cut it with a knife finding that it was part of the green bean stalk, that was inside of the green beans they feed us that day. I wrote a grievance on that day and it was never answered and I suffered tremendously at that time and took medication for it. I am very displeased with the incident that I endured and the the damage to my teeth. I just called shortly ago and was left on hold for almost half an hour with no one coming back to the phone to address my issue and I am highly upset

Shaun or Jeremy is one of the most disgusting people in the recovery system that I have ever met. He claimed that he had all these years and recovery, but his voice and his tone his speech and the way he treated me show that he is still struggling in his recovery, which is very sad for newcomers coming in for recovery. Stay far away from this place! His missing piece is that in order to help an alcoholic or an attic you have to work the 12 steps clearly this guy was not doing that. And that is why this review I m not helping Liars! He s a crackhead that they just gave a job to answer the phone. Be aware.I tried to call back and apologize for my bad behavior and it meant to my wrongdoings and falls. Can you believe that this person that works in rehabilitation and recovery refused to accept my apology because he is not in recovery. And they have the nerve to have him answering the phone for struggling addicts. Unacceptable and wrong he needs to go back to recovery regardless of his years because when you are truly in recovery, you do not act that way I can guarantee you that.! So stay away from this place. They have idiots who are unworthy!!!

I am dealing with alcohol addiction and I called this non professional place to get help and as soon as I explained to the man i was speaking to the man i was speaking to that I will have to get my insurance information from my job he became uninterested in what I am going through and hung up on my twice. Why and how do you do that to a person who told you she is scared that she is going to die. If you need to detox or if you need wellness this is not the place, they only care about money. I am going to talk to an attorney friend and a reporter friend to get this place shut down. There is no way a person is reaching out for help and the representative hangs up on you for seeking help because you don't have you insurance information at the time of the call. This place is irresponsible and disrespectful and can attribute to your drinking or addiction problem. Avoid at all cost. You are not humane to these people just what insurance is going to pay us more. They can care less about you getting better. Money talks wellness walks and not important. I wouldn't refer a lizard to this place.

Worst place I've ever been too and unfortunately I've been to many. The pictures are a lie. You are in a tiny room with a roomate. The nursing staff is so rude and treats you like less than human. It stinks like urine throughout the whole place. The only thing they do is check your blood pressure throughout the day. Insurance scam this place is. Absolutely terrible place. Don't send a loved one roommate. I had a really bad experience there.

Response from the owner7 months ago
Kris, We hate to see you felt you didn't have a great experience. While we do offer private rooms, the photos from the website do picture a room with 2 beds, which are a decent size. We have cleaning staff on-site throughout the day, everyday, to ensure the facility remains clean. You are correct, we do check vitals throughout the day as well as administer the proper medications for each individuals protocol, conduct private counseling sessions, and have a number of groups and meetings brought into the facility as well. We wish you all the best in your journey to sobriety!

Understaffed, poorly run. They sent me home after failing to find the next level of care (Residential/PHP/etc). Refused to call any treatment center other than their own affiliated places. Techs work hard, nurses do too, but overall Sunrise (Ft Lauderdale) FAILED me as a patient. Playing around with people s lives like animals for paychecks.

Response from the owner9 months ago
Troof, Thank you for your positive comments about our techs and nursing staff. They work very hard and we love to see that acknowledged. We are saddened that you feel a continuum of care plan wasn't finalized for any ongoing treatment. To be clear, it is not a requirement to go to any treatment, whether they are affiliated with us or not. While we can't get into specifics in this forum, we can assure you if you didn't follow through with going to treatment after your detox was completed, it was not because we refused to call anyone. It's also important to note, we wouldn't "play around" with an animals life nor a human. All living creatures deserve respect and care, especially during their most vulnerable times. We wish you the best.
