I have been a resident of Rocky Mountain Sober Living for almost 6 months, upon my transition to getting my own place. Rocky Mountain gave me the tools and options to explore a routine schedule, goals and activities I never knew were possible, whilst giving me a safe place to stay each and every night. The community may be random at best, but Mike does a great job of vetting and taking care of each and every concern of every resident. 2 rules, stay sober and stay on top of the opportunities and rules to better your life and those around you. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity and the bonds I’ve made since joining Mikes program and I have/would suggest it to anyone as long as your goal is to stay sober and start living the life you want. Thank you Mike and Jodi, thank you Ryan and Easy, thank you Heath and Gil. These individuals have opened up new opportunities and have given me the care and guidance I needed and continue to live by their word. I would not be where I am today without them. PSA: I’ve lived with Felix. If you begin to prioritize your DOC and don’t seek help in the individuals mentioned or your home group, which I’ve found through Rocky Mountain/Purple Mountain. You will not have a good experience. Stay safe and I hope this review helps guide your direction, as it has guided mine.

This is a horrible place to get sober. I tried out Rocky Mtn Sober living to continue my sobriety from alcohol, as I am now six months sober. I'm estranged from my family and have a one-year-old daughter named Violet in MN with my ex. I was hoping that this program would ultimately help me get back on my feet and get me back to my family. The moment I arrived at Mike's houses, I felt unwelcomed and judged. People there may try to act nice to you at first, but don't make the mistake I made of thinking they're your friends. I was so stressed in these houses, I turned to my old vice of THC/Weed. I was literally just using my THC vape when I was out and about to try and take the edge off my anxiety and not relapse on alcohol. While there are residents/house managers at these sober houses that will shamelessly hit their nicotine vapes non-stop inside the houses. Inside the rooms matter-of-fact. Anyway, I am so blessed to say I made it out of homelessness no thanks to Rocky Mountain Sober program. Through my determination and hard-work, I now have a place of my own and a job that keeps me satisfied!!! Please don't check yourself or anyone you care about into these houses if sobriety is your goal. I was going to AA meetings on a daily basis and had a sponsor. I turned six months sober from alcohol here and helped out with countless things around the two houses I stayed at and it still didn't matter in the end. They made me leave when I had nothing going for my life over a THC vape. It just goes to show what their priorities are. They most certainly pick favorites here. This is an awful place to live! I thank God everyday that I ended up leaving!! Find another sober house if sobriety is your top priority!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
