About Riverside Recovery Center

Riverside Recovery Center is a modern alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility in the Spokane, Washington area. They treat men and women at all stages of addiction with evidence backed methods and licensed medical and clinical teams. They are a residential setting with modern amenities. Riverside Recovery Center operates several inpatient residential treatment centers that provide specific specialized needs, such as those based on gender or location. They also offer additional services beyond treatment, including DUI and legal support for clients.

Clients with severe symptoms, who have undergone an outpatient program with little success, or would benefit from detox are referred to the inpatient program. Clients live at the facility for the length of treatment and follow a daily treatment schedule. Clients receive 24 hour supervision and care while in the program.

Treatment plans are rooted in group and individual therapies that examine the root causes of each client’s addictions and teach vital coping skills. Clients also receive educational opportunities that teach life skills needed to maintain stability and clean living. Inpatient care typically lasts 28 days but can vary.

Outpatient care is a program where clients visit their team at the facility on a set schedule rather than living on campus. Treatment offered through outpatient care is the same as the inpatient program but is provided on a flexible schedule that allows clients to live at home. Outpatient care is sometimes used for clients who have completed inpatient care but want additional help transitioning to life after treatment.

IOP is similar to the outpatient program but follows a more strict schedule. IOP is advisable for people who need a more structured environment but don’t require the constant care and monitoring of inpatient care.

MAT programs see a team of medical professionals administer medication to help clients with severe opioid addiction. Following an assessment and diagnosis, clients may receive prescription drugs to control cravings and withdrawal symptoms. MAT is administered alongside inpatient or outpatient programs.

check iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

check iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

check iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.

check icon12-Step

12 step programs support participants' psychological, spiritual, and emotional development as integral to sustained recovery. Though 12 step recovery programs are based on the belief in a non-denominational higher power, religious affiliation is not required. Group meetings are paper-led, anonymous, free, and available daily, including on holidays, in most communities. Peer sponsors selected by the participants provide one-on-one coaching and support. Specialized formats are widely available, including programming for youth, seniors, and families.

check iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Heart icon Treatment

check iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

check iconDrug Addiction

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

check iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

check iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

The advantage of nicotine replacement therapy in Washington is the absence of the many harmful chemicals that are present in cigarette smoke. These products supply the nicotine only, so you don't suffer from extreme withdrawal and can feel more comfortable as you quit smoking.

I absolutely love Riverside. I have been coming for a long time now and even through my ups and down they were the ones who have always been there for me and my family. I was a hott mess when I first started out patient and they helped me get through it. YES they hold you accountable but that's what they should do. I will never go any where else. All the counselors are amazing. The drs care about what's best for you and will listen to how you feel which is so important when your first getting clean and figuring out life. I will refer anyone to Riverside.
