About Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital

Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital treats behavioral and co-occurring substance abuse disorders in Middle Point, Ohio. The 84 bed psychiatric facility is in a private, rural setting where adult clients enjoy the natural scenery. They provide modern amenities for their inpatient care program.

Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital treats men and women. Rooms are semi private and house individuals of the same gender.

Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital is primarily focused on treating behavioral issues. However, it’s not uncommon for those with mental illness to turn to substance abuse as a coping mechanism for their problems. Co-occurring disorder treatment addresses both problems simultaneously to significantly reduce the chance of relapse.

Therapy is at the core of co-occurring disorder treatment. Individual psychotherapy sees clients discuss their personal history with licensed medical health professionals who provide an outside perspective into the nature of addiction. One on one therapy helps clients build healthy coping skills, better understand the risks and harm of their addictions, and practice healthy living habits.

Group therapy is also used as treatment. Clients meet together regularly and, under the guidance of a therapist, engage in discussions and life skill building exercises. Clients are encouraged to share their experiences and provide support for one another. Group therapy helps clients engage with communities, which becomes a crucial skill as they continue recovery following treatment.

Activities that promote physical fitness and nutrition education are also available. An often overlooked fact is that physical and mental wellbeing are linked. Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital uses group exercise and other physical activities to promote whole person healing.

Treatment at Ridgeway Behavioral Hospital takes place on an inpatient basis. Clients live on campus with one another under close monitoring by staff. The care team helps clients manage their medical needs during their stay and collaborate to devise their care plan.

Programs are highly personalized to fit each client’s needs, but the typical stay lasts between 21 and 30 days. After completing the inpatient program, clients work with their care team to draft an aftercare plan. Aftercare includes identifying community resources to support the recovery journey and personal goal setting for the short and long term.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

I live 3 hrs away, but they will come & pick u up....which is not only convenient, but it makes for less excuses to NOT get help. I liked my dr, he listened very well & really seems like he wants people to live better lives.Never had any issues with the staff. They treated me kindly. I never had any of the staff be rude or anything. Local places only want to keep u for 3 or 4 days.....who can get better with mental health or addiction in 4 days?? & this program is 30 days...which is what u really need to start getting better. My only complaint is that it sometimes felt a little crowded....a lot of patients in there all at once, which can be hard if you're an anxious person--- but I think it's like that no matter where u go.If u need help with addiction & or Mental illness, I recommend this facility.

THIS IS A PSYCH WARD. 10/10 Would not recommend for anyone especially anyone seeking addiction treatment. They do not treat addiction here. I was a patient here recently seeking substance abuse services and they offer very little to no help or information in the form of recovery. They follow strict psych ward protocols and watch people use the bathroom. Most patients there are there for mental health issues and it's like a constant, dangerous warzone. People are constantly screaming, fighting, and doing disturbing acts I won't even mention. Trust me, don't go here. You'll regret it.

People who truly care about the community. If they cannot help you for insurance or any other reasons, they will find a place that can help your loved one. Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana are so lucky to have a resource like Ridgeview.

I've been a loyal employee here for nearly 8 years. I've had all 3 of my kids work here. 2 still do.We work hard to help our clients succeed with their chosen goals. In the face of adversity we push even harder for them to triumph and maintain their sobriety. Our doctors and therapist are here and ready to listen. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.
