About Pyramid Healthcare – Methadone Maintenance Treatment Center

The York Methadone Maintenance Treatment Center is located in York, Pennsylvania. They operate under Pyramid Healthcare, which has offices along the East Coast. At this center, they offer medication assisted treatments for adults who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. They accept self payment, commercial insurance, and Medicare.

Their approach to addiction recovery is three fold. First, they offer a medication approved by the FDA called methadone to help reduce your pain, minimize your cravings, and lower your relapse risk. At the same time, they combine this medication with behavioral therapies and medical care. All these elements work together to treat both the physical and psychological aspects of chemical dependency.

When you visit this center for methadone treatments, you’ll also have access to a range of complementary therapies that can help you address the underlying causes of your addiction. These include individual, group, and family counseling sessions, peer based support groups, relapse prevention training, and clinical evaluations. You’ll go daily until you’re stabilized and meeting their program requirements regularly. Then, you can reduce the number of sessions you attend each week.

If you need a little more support, they also offer an enhanced outpatient program. This program includes 1.5 hours of group therapy per week, as well as individual sessions. Each time you meet, you’ll cover addiction related topics such as how to navigate family dynamics, manage finances, and cope with change.

One former client said this program changed his life and helped him achieve years of sobriety. Several clients say that the team is kind and helpful, and the counselors actually take the time to listen to their needs.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Their outpatient treatment programs provide individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and life skills workshops to give clients the tools necessary to live a sober and healthy lifestyle. Individuals and their families are also educated on the nature of addiction, how to avoid relapse, and strategies for maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. Clients in their outpatient treatment programs continue to live in their own homes, allowing them to uphold work, family, and academic commitments. They may not reside in a guaranteed sober environment, and may be forced to confront and cope with triggers present in their everyday lives during recovery.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

12-step icon12-Step

Their treatment programs rely on the 12-step philosophy as an integral part of recovery. Clients attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous as part of their treatment regimen. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

In order to give their clients the best possible chance at remaining sober, they offer aftercare programs that provide some structure, oversight, and planning post-treatment. They consider client wants and needs when making arrangements for aftercare. If the client was part of a residential program, staff may recommend that they step down into an intensive outpatient, outpatient, or partial hospitalization program to continue specialty treatment. Other aftercare options include halfway or transitional housing.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

family iconFamily Therapy

Family involvement can be critical to a client’s success during and after treatment. Pyramid Healthcare has developed a family program designed to educate the client’s family members about the disease of addiction. This program helps both the individual in specialty treatment and their family learn skills and develop behaviors effective in minimizing the negative impact of the addiction on the familial relationship. Their family program can also open lines of communication between the client and their family members. Pyramid Healthcare counselors can provide family counseling if it is requested by the client.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I have been a patient here for around 8 years and this place has saved my life. I am so grateful for the nurses and counselors who are all just amazing and really do care for all of us and the security guards are all very nice also. This place is very well kept and clean, and they are also great with my special needs son who I have to bring in with me. They help make sure he is safe while I m dosing or having to talk to my counselor. Thank you also to the doctors! Dr Rachel and Dr Davis have been there for me since I was pregnant and I am just grateful for pyramid in so many ways. Thank you for your program and help with my recovery!
