About Pecan Valley Centers

Located in Granbury, Texas, Pecan Valley Centers is a CARF-accredited dual-diagnosis mental health and addiction treatment provider. Serving children, adolescents, adults, and families, their programs include inpatient, outpatient, and peer-delivered drug or alcohol programs.

Treatment at Pecan Valley Centers begins with a mental health assessment to screen for symptoms of addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders. The inpatient program relies on evidence-based practices to treat substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions, and is for adults over 18.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is appropriate for individuals with less severe substance use disorder or with dual-diagnosis conditions. Treatment sessions are held 3-4 days per week and include individual and group therapy, skills training, and recovery support meetings.

The peer support program is offered by individuals with lived experience of addiction and recovery. Certified by the state, peers can support individuals to make a recovery plan, access services, and assist them in achieving their goals.

Pecan Valley Centers accepts Medicaid and other insurance plans. These may include Aetna, Cigna, and BlueCross BlueShield. You’ll want to contact your provider to verify coverage, as out-of-network benefits vary.

Case managers I've seen here are awesome, Christian and Kristina are kind, caring, and attentive. Kyle he's a great guy and they're always willing and wanting to be there to help. Starsha Brown is a great CPT coach, always a smile on her face and has really helped. I use the Genoa pharmacy and read my medication pamphlets, to make sure I have information about the prescriptions I was given and their interactions, what to look out for, etc. I do have to say the Dr. Assha is complete $#!*!!! I told him for close to a year a prescription I was given for my Anxiety gave me heart palpations and was not working anymore, and I was already on the highest dosages taking it 3 times a day. He never took me off and prescribed a 2nd medication that made me feel like a brain dead zombie after taking it, ihe was then informed 4 weeks later and all he did was lower the dosage of the 2nd medication, I had since gone to the ER in fort worth 3 times due to horrible panic attacks, passing out from them and almost wrecking my car when one came what felt like no where. I had told the nurse that was there for a year and she documented it, but was ignored too. Finally about June of this year I asked my case manager to accompany me.It took her to go with me into my appointment with him to actually be heard by that the medication wasn't working and my symptoms are getting worse, all he did was remove the first med and still kept me in the 2nd. My last visit I had again my CM and I down right told him, I'm not taking the meds they're not working I'm worse than before I saw him 2 months ago, we need to try something else. He took away all my meds prescribed me 1 antidepressants that "helps" with anxiety and my medication for insomnia. My other diagnosis left untreated by him, I pretty much got a 1 pill and it'll fix it all from him when I asked about my other issues. This guy is a crap Dr...

I was a patient for about a year before I moved and I m glad I don t have to use them anymore. Scheduling your first appointments takes months, I ended up having to go to a psychiatric emergency room to get my medications until I could finally get in. My own case manager told me they have thousands of patients with just one doctor servicing three offices. In a year, they couldn t squeeze me in for any kind of therapy at all. They schedule appointments without calling or emailing you to let you know and if you miss them you get removed from the program. The doctor was friendly, but I found out after seeing a new provider that the medications I was prescribed have fatal interactions, one of the meds I was prescribed can cause a life threatening rash when combined with one of my other medications and I was never told, they never told me any of the side effects. That s scary and dangerous. I understand this is the only option available in hood county for the uninsured, but if you have any other options at all, take them. Avoid this clinic at all costs.

Accepted Insurance

Pecan Valley Centers works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

dollar-outline iconFinancing available

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I have been coming here since I was a teenager. The lady with the blonde hair at the front counter is very rude most of the time. Very unprofessional. They will not give me my prescriptions and I have been hospitalized multiple times. They want me to provide financial paperworks and lead me on a big goose chase making me wait so they can satisfy their paperwork so they get paid from government resources. I have since left to seek medical assistance elsewhere. Cannot even get meds. Completely ridiculous.

My husband has been being given the wrong medications for a few years by Granbury mhmr. We found out the hard way by that I mean he really lost it mentally. He was signed into a psychic ward that had nothing to do with mhmr finally. They immediately realized he has been given the wrong medications for his diagnosis. He had basically been crying out for help this entire time and it basically fell in deaf ears. They didn't really care either. Seems like he was just a crazy person to them and there eyes would just glazed over. Finally successfully he's on the right medications now. I recommend avoiding this clinic altogether if you can. God bless each and everyone battling mental illness

I was a patient of this clinic for years and they are worse than useless. The handful of decent counselors I saw here all ended up leaving. As for the psychiatrists? Well..."Hey doc, I hear voices in my head that aren't mine that I have no control over.""Hmm, sounds like your subconscious ""Hey doc, I have traumatic flashbacks and have difficulty remembering a lot of my childhood.""Well, you don't remember everything exactly as it happened, so I can't help you ""Hey doc, I have difficulty reading social cues, understanding sarcasm, I'm weirdly sensitive to certain sounds/textures/etc. and I get overstimulated very easily and have meltdowns.""Hmm, sounds like borderline personality disorder to me ""Hey doc, this medicine makes me extremely sick, especially when I miss a dose.""Well, otherwise it's working, so we can't change it "Don't waste your money or time with these clowns. You're better off making the drive out of town for some actually decent mental health care.

This is by far the WORST mhmr ive been to and ive had my share from moving around! Not only did they cancel my appointments without calling to say they cancelled, they made me and my PHYSICALLY DISABLED DAUGHTER wait in the waiting room for an HOUR before telling us they cancelled. Then when we finally saw a psychiatrist, she thought she understood my daughter well enough after 5 minutes that she felt confident enough to change LONG STANDING DIAGNOSIS and provide a ridiculous diagnosis. They make appointments for you and then call you the day before appointment to tell you that you have one only giving you a day notice. They say the reason for this horrible behavior is understaffing but thats a cop out. The staff they do have is horrible and that one doctor needs her license revoked! This behavior is unacceptable from any establishment but ESPECIALLY from an establishment that is supposed to help the mentally ill!!!
