I was mandated by a judge to go there for 3 months. I spent 7 1/2 months there and it was the best thing to happen to me. I am clean and sober since 12/3/23 . I am indebted to all the staff and fellow Brothers Christopher for the sobriety I now enjoy. I haven't had this much sober time since 1986.

I've gone to law enforcement over behavior toward me from some of the workers. I came here looking for peace, and some of the workers were helping a longterm stalker try to access me despite being informed of enough of the situation to know better. It was shockingly bad. This facility is a racket. The patients use drugs in this facility and do not offer support. I know this because they so graciously kicked my twin sister out of this facility for trivial reasons and she then died due to meeting drug users in this facility. Came in an alcoholic left with a drug addiction. I do not recommend this place for your loved ones. They do not have their interests or well beings at heart.

I was very disappointed in the first night my loved one was in the medically detox facility was called the next day and told he believed he had a
seizure. Woke up on the floor didn't know where he was, when I questioned them later about what protocol was used CIWA,KAWAS, and obviously protocol wasn't followed or he wouldn't have had a seizure if he was properly medicated and observed for symptoms they had no answers. He only saw his counselor once in about 5 days with no real plan in place. When AA didn't show up they had nothing else in place for the time these residents to do for that time frame. I just don't understand how addicts can get the help they are looking for when the places who are there to help really don't have what they need. It is very hard for addicts and there loved ones in this situation, I don't know if maybe court ordered and others there on their own should be separated.

I've been a patient twice over the last 3-4 years. First time around was wonderful. Staff was attentive, detox group meetings were a regular occurrence and really built towards a sense of healing and recovery.
This time around it was like the loonies running the asylum for lack of better terminology: patients allowed to throw violent tempers, non existent detox group therapy, patients spending up to 14 hours on couches watching television. Young female staff entertaining advances of older men in rehabilitation. Subpar food standards. Open air conversations and glorification of ex drug use/dealing and domestic violence charges like theyre badges of honor, staff turns a deaf ear or worse excited by it. Shameful. My first time there was great. Would never consider going back

I am clean now for 5 years due to my higher power (JEHOVAH) but the success of my abstinence started with LICR. LICR has many ways to teach relaxation and meditation. Also, LICR food is the best. It is better than Seafield.

I would like to share some thoughts about Mountainside and especially our sons recovery coach Christina.
Following his completion of a 28 day in-patient program with another provider he enrolled at Mountainside Chappaqua. He is in their Outside Patient and Recovery Coaching programs. Our son and Christina have been working together for about five months. They talk daily and meet weekly. A few weeks into the program Christina began doing weekly calls with my wife and me.
Our son works with various therapists, clinicians and other staff at Mountainside. He is complimentary of the entire organization and their contribution in helping him understand his addiction and providing recovery support. My wife and I only work with Christina.
Christina is EXCELLENT. She balances professional counseling, insight, accountability, great communication skills and timely follow-up. Having walked this life herself she is highly skilled and relatable but it’s never about her. Christina cares. She has built valued trust with all of is. My wife’s and my weekly calls provide an update on his progress and any open issues. She reminds us that he is accountable for his own recovery and keeps us in our lane. Most important she has helped keep our sons recovery moving positively forward day after day.

This place needs to be investigated and shut down. How is it when a patient tells you they feel uncomfortable and unwelcome due to her roommate wanting to have the room to herself, she's punished and mocked by staff and other people who are repeat offenders, Will was unfair and showed favoritism to the girl because she always comes back and this is my 1st time. He also started talking about Satan and I need to leave the property because I was afraid and no one helped they just continue gossiping and the faculty leader cursing was unprofessional and not a safe place to rehab and heal. They collect your health insurance do the bare minimum because they know people will be returning. They don't care about health or solutions. I told 3 different staff members I was uncomfortable and cold and my roommate smelled so bad and had the a.c. blasting in 33 degree weather.
