About Ocean State Recovery Center – Drug Rehab Rhode Island

Ocean State Recovery Center - Drug Rehab Rhode Island is an outpatient addiction treatment facility in Johnston, Rhode Island. They offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient treatment, and a day treatment program. Specialized programs include a stimulant use track program and the uniformed professionals program. They provide treatment for addiction and co- occurring disorders with a focus on offering care that is trauma informed and gender responsive.

The therapeutic approaches primarily used at this facility are support groups and cognitive behavioral therapy. They combine evidence based practices with medication assisted treatment and 12 Step fellowship support with the goal of helping clients live a healthy lifestyle.

The day treatment program, also known as a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the most intensive level of care offered at Ocean State Recovery Center. Patients will receive 25 to 30 hours of medical and clinical services each week. The program will typically last about four to six weeks, based on the progress of the client. Partial hospitalization is ideal for clients who’ve completed residential treatment programs or detox. Each day of treatment will consist of individual therapy, case management services and three or four clinical group sessions. Patients will get a chance to practice their coping skills and learn what their triggers are. Patients will follow an individualized and holistic treatment plan that is tailored to their needs.

Family therapy is also provided. This therapy will help family members understand addiction and the treatment process to be better able to support their loved one going through recovery. The facility offers biweekly family support group sessions and individual family sessions.

When clients transition to the intensive outpatient program, they’ll attend treatment three to five days a week for three hours a day. Patients have the flexibility of participating in this program during the day or evening hours.

Accepted Insurance

Ocean State Recovery Center – Drug Rehab Rhode Island works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities. This program provides half-day treatment (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15 am to 12:30 pm).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive rehab without the need for 24-hour care. Whether it's an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option post-hospital or residential care, PHP treatment often includes relapse prevention strategies, medication management, and other behavioral therapy interventions. PHP treatment typically requires daily sessions for 4-8 hours, 5 days a week. Depending on your progress, the length of PHP treatment can vary, averaging 90 days. The cost of PHP treatment varies but is often fully or partially covered by providers.

Individual therapy for drug addiction is a collaborative process between yourself and your therapist. During your sessions, you address personnel experiences and emotional struggles head on. I LOVE this place and the people in it. It changed my life and made me a better man. The case managers Bri, JP, Vic, and Ria are some of the most helpful, caring, and resourceful people you will ever meet xoxo . They truly go above and beyond to make sure your transition through the stages of recovery are as stress free as possible, no matter what complication might arise. The variety of therapy in groups is amazing. It is a very open and caring environment with REAL people giving you honest guidance through a wide range range of life's troubles. Each of the therapists has their own style of therapy that gets the most out of each group. They are geniuses when it comes to recovery and care so much about the well-being of each client. I will miss coming here every day. I just love all these people so much. Thank you for everything OSRC.

Hello nice to meet yall my name is david and i went through four months at ocean state and it was a great experience. where the program is to bring together the clients and staff into a close knit community. which all works for the betterment of yourself and the ones to surround. ive never really felt comfortable sharing about myself with anyone including therapists. But there everyone speaks about their struggles and lives which allowed me to not feel like a requirement to speak, but comfortable and free to share my truth and get it off my chest. So i could actually start healing and moving forwards instead of stagnating or digging a deeper hole. thank you for everything guys and at some point illl sneak back over and bring yall some doughnuts. hope yall have a great day!

OSRC is truly one of a kind. Group based therapy which are run by rooms, and each room has a rotation of therapists each day. Your room (and the people in it) change each week. Every therapist has a different style, so you're guaranteed to find a style that works for you. Even in the groups you "don't vibe with" you're bound to hear at least one thing each group from a peer that resonates with you.The program only works if you work it, if you show up and do the bare minimum every day that's on you...if you show up and put the effort in you will notice a change.I've been attempting to get sober on and off for about a decade now, self detoxing and program based. I've never found a place as caring and thoughtful as OSRC. The staff are all very supportive, the therapists will absolutely call you on your BS (which is great for me), weekly UA keeps you accountable, and they take you back if you slip up so long as you keep trying to put the effort in (they may ask extra of you to prove you want to be there, but they don't immediately toss you to the curb like some other places.)The owner, Chris, has done some pretty mind blowing things for people in this program. One way or another you will be seen, heard, and helped. So long as you show up for yourself, they will show up for you in full force.Coming up on 3 months in the program now, and my life has changed immensely. I am no longer a shell of a human, I have a life that I look forward to waking up into everyday. Forever grateful for OSRC, the owner, and all of the staff who have supported me (even on my bad days) through this on-going battle with my demons. 10/10 would recommend to a friend, and even a stranger.
