About Oakview Behavioral Health Center

Oakview Behavioral Health Services is located in Middleburg, Ohio, and serves men and women living with a chemical dependency or a mental health disorder. With the commitment to serve all clients, they offer flexible treatment options including inpatient care and outpatient care.

They’re situated on nine acres of wooded land. Their scenic location allows you to recover in an environment that’s supportive, positive, and nestled in nature.

They take an abstinence based approach to care and maintain that recovery can be achieved when love, dignity, and respect are given to recovering individuals. Their treatment options include 12 Step models, addiction education, and recovery skills training.

They provide a family meeting area and a “home-like” design that allows you to feel you’re in an uplifting, people centered environment as opposed to a clinical or traditional treatment facility. Former clients praise their program for the high quality of care they received but some complain that their needs and concerns were not addressed as they should have been.

I have been seeing Dr. Aasia Syed since earlier this year. My last appointment was for 11:30. It was nearly 11:55 when I saw her, and we were done by about 12:15, which is not enough time. Dr. Syed asked me about going on disability or going into the hospital. When I did not answer quickly enough, she yelled at me that I was wasting her time and making her late by not responding quick enough. I would not recommend Dr. Syed.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Honestly I m so disgusted and offended by the staff and how I was just treated by not only the receptionist but by the office manager as well. I waited in the lobby after calling to notify the staff I would be 15 minutes late and upon arrival I was not only waiting in the lobby for an extra 5 minutes but was defamed in the lobby and criticized for the outfit I was wearing when in no way was any dress code established or talked about despite outfits I have worn before. yes I am gay and yes I think this may have been a factor in how I was treated by the way this situation was so rudely handled by the office manager. after I tried calling in 3 separate times in order to discuss my disappointment in how I was disrespected in the lobby, not even pulled aside but in the lobby. This receptionist clearly had no regard for trying to handle the situation apparently but instead threatened to call the police on me for expressing my emotions on how she treated me and the condescending way the office manager spoke with me over the phone in no way brought my comfort but only more disappointment and lack of regard for human emotion and a total lack of respect for how I was so blatantly wronged in her lobby and in no way showed any interest in reprimanding the receptionist or sympathizing with my feelings which for a place that promotes a healthy well being and better way of thinking really showed no signs of that in the staff this evening. I want to share this because now I feel so strongly that nothing will be done about this that I hope someone may see this and understand the kind of people who are running this healthcare facility when in reality tonight no care was shown for me or my mental health.
