About Oakview Behavioral Health Center

Oakview Behavioral Health Services is located in Middleburg, Ohio, and serves men and women living with a chemical dependency or a mental health disorder. With the commitment to serve all clients, they offer flexible treatment options including inpatient care and outpatient care.

They’re situated on nine acres of wooded land. Their scenic location allows you to recover in an environment that’s supportive, positive, and nestled in nature.

They take an abstinence based approach to care and maintain that recovery can be achieved when love, dignity, and respect are given to recovering individuals. Their treatment options include 12 Step models, addiction education, and recovery skills training.

They provide a family meeting area and a “home-like” design that allows you to feel you’re in an uplifting, people centered environment as opposed to a clinical or traditional treatment facility. Former clients praise their program for the high quality of care they received but some complain that their needs and concerns were not addressed as they should have been.

I was nervous, more than nervous actually, to be admitted here, but after being reassured by the staff that it was unlike a place I d experienced years ago, I found it to be probably one of the best places I ve ever been to. If I ever need mental health care in the future I will not hesitate to go back. The very best place I ve ever been for mental health treatment and care. Thank you to all who helped me.

My son was an inpatient. This is the first time in twenty years that all of his issues were acknowledged and advocated for. He is now in long term treatment and has been sober for the first time in his adulthood. I am grateful for the firm expectations combined with compassionate care.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

I only stayed for one night and I can honestly say I hope anybody with mental health problems never comes here. Go anywhere else.1) Every other room was given a trashcan(I saw them in other patients' rooms). I didn't have one, my nurse NOTICED and I never received one even when I asked. I just left my wet paper towels on the bathroom sink after I washed my hands because there was nowhere to throw them away.2) I was told I'd be given toiletries and never received any.3) My parents called the nurses when I told them I want to go home and asked if a nurse would explain to me what was legally keeping me there as I went voluntarily. The nurse got the call, promised my dad that she herself would talk to me, and never came to talk to me. When I asked 30 minutes after the call from my family she hadn't told anybody else, had to take another nurse to the back to explain what was going on, then the OTHER nurse talked to me and didn't explain any laws or legal reasons I couldn't leave, she explained nothing.4) Another patient mistook a male nurse for someone she was angry at and called him that name and yelled at him. After she left the nurses all started LAUGHING and making fun of the patient.5) I asked for motrin twice in a row for my pain condition and never received it6) They may as well not even give you the schedule they do because they don't follow it at all. Breakfast is 8:15 to 9. They weren't ready until 8:45 and then only had the food out for 15 minutes. There were no group sessions the day I arrived even when there should have been and the one group session I attended was 20 minutes late to start.7) They have a white board w/ patient names under the nurse's name who is caring for them that day. My DEADNAME was up on the board even though I'd told them my preferred name and pronouns and they had managed to stick to that pretty well.8) Apparently if you're in a psych ward voluntarily and tell them you'd like to get discharged and leave they are LEGALLY REQUIRED to supply you with a doctor to assess you within 2 hours and they refused to do so.9) They allow you to skip as many meals and therapy sessions as you want. They will just let you starve. There was one woman who I watched skip lunch, dinner, breakfast, and lunch again. Whenever they'd announced food she'd just go to her room and not stop to get food. I asked her if she had food she liked in her room instead and she said she didn't have any and she just didn't like to eat much. This was just an overnight stay. Please, think about what your loved one may be forced to experience here if they're there for longer. Especially if they have difficulty advocating and speaking for themselves. They may never actually receive any treatment or supplies. Do not go or send anyone you love here.

If I could give a 0 I would. Not because of the staff who only carry out their duties, but to the Doctors, NP's and administrators. Total lack of attention to serious issues. Maybe good for drug rehab or alcohol rehab but for real mental health issues this place get a zero. My wife went days with out food or water and never did the staff get her admitted to the hospital for help. I had to threaten to call the police for neglect so I could get her released. Shame on these so called non professionals. Don't trust a loved one with any thing serious to this hack of a facility

I have been seeing Dr. Aasia Syed since earlier this year. My last appointment was for 11:30. It was nearly 11:55 when I saw her, and we were done by about 12:15, which is not enough time. Dr. Syed asked me about going on disability or going into the hospital. When I did not answer quickly enough, she yelled at me that I was wasting her time and making her late by not responding quick enough. I would not recommend Dr. Syed.

Michael T? Complained about an incident that happened months ago. It was exaggerated and now I have to go to court over it. Yeah they do laugh about the patients... fire him.
