Took my daughter back in May, they started working with her immediately even though it was in the hall!! Emergency Appendectomy, everything was A-okTook her this morning more than 24 hours of persistent vomiting & pregnant, they took her back to a room, the room was not cleaned clearly we could tell, trash all over floor she said yes as she's picking up all the evidence of un sanitized room, they ignored her for an hour, they hid behind monitors really!!!?? Ridiculous!!! I asked for them to give her something for nausea or IV, something!!!, she said oh were preparing for shift change at 7 am, I said it's 6:40, she walked out, I knew I needed to get my daughter that is pregnant to another hospital, we were walking out, and someone asked, oh are you leaving?. I said yes ma'am there's no shift change when someone needs medical assistance, I drove to Asheboro they took her back immediately and within 5 minutes she had an IV and nausea medicine!! She was so sick and dehydrated they gave her 3 bags of IV and sent her home with prescription for nausea and another medicine for nighttime nausea so she could rest, they had to make sure she didn't have an in balance with her fluids. Now can someone explain, how these medical personnel are so inhumane and desensitized to not help a stick pregnant young woman (23 yrs old) I just cannot understand or believe how we were treated the hour wait what because they were busy assisting any emergency they were all sitting around, talking.. Not reports, I'm not blind or deaf!!! Oddly I was treated the same in February Same hospital but not my daughter!!!!!

I had to go to the emergency room a few months ago and wanted to review my experience. The staff was absolutely amazing from the moment we checked in till we checked out. The providers were kind and compassionate. There was obviously a wait but the staff was very communicative about when I would be seen. The nurses were amazing and made the visit so much more enjoyable (as enjoyable as an ER visit can be!). Overall I would highly recommend the Thomasville ER and was so thankful for such quality care in Thomasville.

Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients who are exiting detox or stepping down from intensive inpatient care typically transition directly into outpatient treatment. Outpatient programs are designed to allow clients to either re-enter or remain in their communities while receiving robust, personalized care. Many facilities offer evening, night, or weekend services to accommodate clients' home and work schedules. The most common outpatient treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an inpatient rehab facility are typically in early recovery or are at heightened risk of relapse. Clients in inpatient care remain at the facility for the duration of their program, enabling them to focus solely on their recovery. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive psychotherapy, often including group and family counseling as well as one-on-one sessions. Recovery-focused life skills education is another common service. Many rehabs also offer evidence-based holistic therapies.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer a complete continuum of care for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery and are predicated on the idea that addiction disease is a chronic condition prone to relapse and warranting continuing care. Clients collaborate with their care team and case manager to access the specific rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety. Peer coaching, relapse prevention services, career counseling, and 12 step program induction are common in these programs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive drugs and alcohol from your body. A team of licensed medical professionals will look after you 24/7 to monitor your health, help minimize discomfort, and provide medications if necessary to alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. This process is typically the first step in your recovery and may take around 5-7 days, although length will depend on your individual needs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Clients who receive cognitive behavioral therapy in North Carolina typically attend five to 20 sessions. During this time, they work with their therapist to learn healthier patterns of thinking, which can help them change their behavior related to substance use.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

During nutrition therapy in North Carolina, you'll work with a nutritionist to develop a dietary plan. Medical professionals will provide input based on your health needs. You'll learn to create goals for nutrition and develop the skills you need to meet them.

You can participate in creative arts therapy in a variety of settings. Options include medical institutions, rehab facilities, and therapists' offices. Sessions are held in individual and group formats. Types of therapy include music, drama, dance, and painting.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Emergency room doctors are a joke they don't care about their patients and have nurses do unnecessary blood draws that sit in your room to not be touched again. A nurse even stated the doctors here don't care and that she couldn't even find the doctor to ask was they going to use it. Honestly use to love this place but it's gone straight to hell whatever you do go somewhere else!!!

I went to Thomasville Hospital on 8/9/2024 and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I have had at a hospital and given my extensive medical history unfortunately.. that s saying A LOT!I went in due to a fall and weakness and over all just feeling like something was really wrong. I hate hospitals so for me to break down and go that shows I was in a BAD place. The staff inTriage was great. They got me back to a room surprisingly quick given my known history of ER s so I was hopeful that this would be a good experience but I was wrong! I was put in this room and barely checked on other than for the PA and nurses coming in and telling me I had critically low blood (4.2 ) which according to them I should not have even been conscious. They did not explain ANYTHING..They came in with bags of blood and then treated me like trash when I had questions about the safety the other options etc. they told me I was critical but yet they didn t care enough to stay in the room and answer any questions. I repeatedly asked for something to eat and drink for the MANY hours I was stuck there . I was pretty much tied down by all of the equipment and IV s . It is a very helpless feeling. They NEVER gave me even so much as a cup of ice even though there was NO orders on my chart from the doctor restricting my intake for any reason. They also asked me numerous times what my pain level was and I swear it must have been just to get their jollies off of knowing I was still hurting! They never even so much as gave me Tylenol even tho one of the BIG side effects of critically low blood is headache and body pain. On top of everything else I was recovering from a horrible fall a few days earlier.I finally had taken all I could of the poor attitudes and lack of care and concern shown even tho they were telling me I was on deaths door and was going to have to be admitted to critical care.I opted to sign out AMA (against medical advice) and risk dying before I would stay there with that care team .The sad thing is as I was leaving the hospital after signing out against medical advice ironically I met another lady in the hallway who had just been there a day or two prior and they told her she was cri and needed to be admitted but treated her horrible too. She also left instead of settling for the horrible treatment. She had to swallow her pride and come back because she was so sick and had no other help .. I promise that WON T be me. I d rather die at home with some dignity!I really hope someone keeps track of how many AMA patients they have ! When people would rather go home and die than settle for the horrible heartless care of your staff You should really re-evaluate your staffing choices!
