About Midway Rehab Center

Midway Rehabilitation Center is located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and offers treatment options to men and women living with alcohol addictions. Care is provided through an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Their inpatient program allows recovering individuals access to comprehensive care as they move through their recovery. Care is tailored to an individual’s unique needs and includes counseling, addiction education, skills development, and other support.

Their outpatient program allows recovering individuals to maintain their sobriety but with a more flexible treatment plan. When you sign into this program, you’ll still have access to many of the services offered in inpatient care.

They’re pretty unique in that their mission is to empower recovering individuals to take responsibility for their choices. They believe that all residents have the power to make the right choices concerning their sobriety. This message of inner power is echoed through both treatment programs.

This facility is state-licensed and follows HIPAA regulations. Please note that your car and belongings are subject to search. You’ll also have periodic drug and urine screenings as well. Check out their FAQ for more details.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive care without leaving their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically receive intensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Many programs promote clients' long-term sobriety through recovery-focused life skills training and ancillary services, such as peer coaching. Medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance, are common in outpatient care. Most facilities offer multiple levels of care to accommodate clients' evolving needs, including intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient programming.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Tennessee, also known as a halfway house, refers to a group residence for men or women who are recovering from addiction. These are usually privately owned homes or houses owned by a nonprofit or business. Most are located in quiet residential areas. Residents have their own rooms or share a room with one roommate, and they share common areas. Each resident pays rent and helps with household maintenance.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

In Tennessee, group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction typically involve skill development to help you learn communication techniques and relapse prevention strategies. These strategies support your transition into the community and help you maintain long term sobriety.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy is a safe place to work through the lingering effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist will help you understand the physical and emotional responses that can develop after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. You then work toward developing healthier coping mechanisms to reduce your symptoms.

There are too many people gathered in this place! It's impossible for anyone to get quality service when there are so many patients!

I was released from Federal prison on March 28, 2023 and sent here. I was worried because before being released my husband read the reviews and they weren t a lot of good ones. Upon arriving the staff was very helpful, the place was very clean, the food was awesome, and my counselor was great. My counselor was John Horton he is awesome and tries to help in anyway he can. He also does the group meetings at Midway and I enjoyed going to them. This place is a good place for people that actually want to change and live a better life.

I thought these places were set up & get funding to HELP inmates entering back into society, well not these people. They pick & choose who stays or goes not based on thier behavior, home confinement has to drive back there weekly for a drug test so employers fire them & if they say they fail a urine DT they will not allow them to do a blood test when the urine screens are faulty. They make it so hard for SOME people to make it through thier orogram.its sad. They are told thier freedom is upto them thats blackmailing. Why cant thier be a place that actually helps addicts, people re enter society without the power trip, judgment & bs? ESPECIALLY PLACES GETTING FUNDING.

The director, Monica Tillery, is obnoxious and rude. Most of the counselors are the same because Monica told them that if they are mean they will get hassled less by the people they re supposed to be helping. The people that need this place are desperate and vulnerable. The staff doesn t help them, but instead treats them like they are annoyances. I feel bad for anyone that must be at this place.

I had to come to Midway for a drug screen. The director Monica Tillery is extremely rude and disrespectful. I have attended rehab centers before and I feel sorry for the patients and staff that go here. Bryan Carter was extremely helpful and polite, they need more staff like him. I hope for future patients they can get this place turned around

Staff is good at what they do and in my experience, helpful in both goal setting and the achievement of those goals. "I really felt as though they had my best interests at heart".
