This was the most traumatic and emotionally exhausting experience I ve ever had at a hospital.I was taken by squad because of exposure to mold and a severe reaction to it. I brought the results of the mold and mycotoxins in and Dr. Carrie Baker refused to even consider that was what was affecting me.She was dismissive, condescending and seemed to make the decision that I was under the influence of drugs. Even with clear results.Upon seeing my blood results (will post in comments), every level that was either high or low has a DIRECT correlation to mold poisoning. Dear hospital staff, please feel free to do the research and research each on in correlation to mold and you will see that they are ALL indicators of mold/fungi poisoning. I also have symptoms similar to stage 2 kidney disease which you failed to see the connection to.In my chart, it even shows past test results that show my allergy to the very mold (aspergillus) that is rampant in my system.Dr. Baker accused me of faking seizures( diagnosed history of epilepsy) because I didn t poop or pee myself during them.Google, while not always accurate, will still tell you that that is not the case for all seizures and actually doesn t typically happen.I don t just have grand mal seizures but Dr. Baker seemed extremely uneducated on the plethora of different types of seizures. She was horrid. The worst experience with a doctor I ve ever had.I get that it s triage and you are supposed to just keep someone alive and treat them accordingly but to be so madly dismissed was excruciating.I also get that mold toxicity and all its corresponding ailments aren t something modern medicine knows a lot about but I LITERALLY explained what mycotoxins were and what was happening. She ordered a chest xray even AFTER I told her that my cysts, nodules and lung granulomas would only show up on an mri.She instantly made the decision that I wasn t being truthful and made zero effort to educate herself just a few Google keystrokes away ! Or even PubMed.She also put in my chart that she listened to my abdomen, looked in throat, eats etc (stated all clear) but she never did any of that !One of the nurses wrote my stats on a paper towel, how unprofessional is that ? Just an extra layer to not feeling heard or seen very diminishing.Don t go here. If you want to be heard, don t go here.If you want someone to trust that you know your body better than anyone, don t go here.If you like being gaslit, manipulated and spoken to in a diminishing way, Dr Baker ur the one for you.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

Some couples therapy in Ohio is designed as short term treatment to address a specific problem in the relationship, such as anxiety, depression, or addiction. Other couples therapy may focus on general strengthening of the relationship by improving interactions.

Family therapy offers a group time to collectively make an effort to understand and combat the issues and challenges associated with addiction. Therapists work with family members to establish healthy boundaries between each other and their loved one who is addicted, improve emotional support systems, and work together toward a sustained long term recovery.

On our most recent visit the ER treated my daughter with amazing care. They were quick and helped us onto the next phase for my daughter s medical care. We were informed the entire time. Never left in the dark about what was going on.

This is unfortunately one of the only ERs in Urbana and they are awful. If something is seriously wrong, go somewhere else. Unprofessional and slow. Unresponsive and rude staff especially the people working reception. If you need to call them for any reason, don't. You will stay on the phone for hours while the line just rings. This is after talking to a receptionist who will rudly cut you off mid sentence and put you on hold. I cannot express how much this hospital sucks. They need to be shut down!!

I was in terrible pain so I went to the ER. They never figured out what was going and dismissed me. A few days later there again and again NO HELP!! Thank God I went to Marysville where not only did I spend 5 days there I now have an IV port in me for 6 weeks! Urbana ER used to be excellent but now they are nothing but a joke!!! Save yourself some time don't go to Urbana or Springfield!! Thank you Marysville for not only treating me and telling me what was wrong and showing me Urbana ER is WORTHLESS!!

Mercy Health is a small hospital and for years never heard much positive. Well I have had 2 weeks of amazing care for my mom who has been there. She is doing rehab in the swing bed unit. Each and every person that has taken care of her, has went out of their way to make moms stay there better. Even when she was a bit difficult to work with. Stubborn you may say. This hospital has not been given the credit they deserve. I just wanted to share my experience and to say thank you to each and every staff member who has helped mom! I need to also add how clean this place is!!!!

Emergency room treatment and outpatient surgery were both handled by professional and caring staff. My family has received excellent treatment too.
