About KaraLee and Associates, West Building

Located in Plymouth, Michigan, KaraLee and Associates offers mental health care for children through adults. They also provide psychological testing and outpatient (OP) therapy.

Their mental health professionals specialize in treating a number of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, impulse control disorders as well as relationship difficulties, anger management, and conduct disorder. They also work with families of divorce and offer programs to improve parenting skills.

KaraLee and Associates offer a safe and non judgemental environment where individuals work with skilled professionals to set and achieve positive long term goals. Individual counseling can be done 1 on 1 or through their video therapy or tele therapy options. These convenient options help individuals and families make their scheduled appointments. They even allow your pets to come to therapy with you!

Their Psychological testing services can help to assess for various psychological, intellectual and learning conditions that make it difficult for an individual to function successfully in day to day life. These include testing for Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. They also offer treatment guidance and recommendations for education or employment accommodations, if needed.

KaraLee and Associates accept commercial insurance plans and self pay. As of 2014, the Affordable Care Act included mental health as an essential benefit, however, there are some exceptions to this, so make sure you understand your insurance before starting treatment. In some cases, insurance companies require prior authorization before starting care or may expect that care is received by in network only providers.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

telehealth iconTelehealth
Telehealth refers to services that are delivered virtually -- for example, through a live one-on-one video conference with a counselor -- instead of in person. Telemedicine rehab is ideal for people who want to stay in touch with their mental health provider but have difficulty getting to appointments.

Horrible place!!!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Took my teenager here and they made her feel worst about herself. She feels she can't trust people even more now. AND to top it off, I witnessed them laughing and talking about their clients after they leave. In front of the people in the waiting room! I don't understand how they can sleep at night knowing the things they've done.

I was trying to go back to get help with the only therapist I connected with. They will not see me because apparently I owe them money. I told them I would pay but still denied me services. So if you are in collections for less than $100, they will not see you.

I was seeing a therapist for a few months. She would contact me to move my appointments constantly. The last time she canceled on me then ghosted me completely. I called the office and was told by the receptionist they would have someone contact me about seeing someone else but i never heard back. When we did meet for sessions she constantly watched the clock and did not help me. I am not sure i will ever go back to a thearpist after the way i was treated here. I would recommend you avoid this place.

Stay away from this place!!! I don t leave reviews very often but this one was needed. At first I thought the negative comments were a little unreasonable. Now I understand after dealing with them first hand. I had to reach out to them 5 times before I even got an appointment. They were super unorganized and didn t know what was going on.The therapists are rookies. They re clock watchers who are only there to dish people in and out of there low budget reconstructed 7eleven building.I went there for 6 months for my anxiety and was never given a diagnosis on what was actually causing it. The psychiatrist I delt with, A.K.A. medical director is retired but still does telehealth visits via FaceTime because they don t have enough doctors to staff for how many patients they take in. You ll never see him in person. Just throws out medication and gives no diagnosis of what the problem actually is either. After being late for a couple appointments I received a copy and paste text from the therapist I was seeing. He informed me the practice couldn t help me anymore and to go back to my primary doctor. When I asked why they had no legitimate reason and the therapist never responded back. It s super dangerous to be giving out high doses of psychiatric medications and then just cutting them off without tapering off the medication. Super unprofessional environment. Please read this and keep a heads up when dealing with this practice. They need to be evaluated by the state because the don t meet the qualifications to run a psychiatric practice. I ended up having to go to the hospital 3 different times for seizures from my medication running out. The ER informed me I was withdrawing due to the medication they put me on.Nobody should have to deal with that. Any patient who comes here with the intent of actually trying to resolve problems that interfere with everyday life or trying to better themselves is a lost cause.

Worst experience of my life, they've done nothing but make my anxiety, stress and depression worse. Thank you so much for not caring about the well being of a client that's been coming here for years.

I would really have preferred to give a better review of this practice, but unfortunately, I cannot. We have had nothing but unprofessional service from the get-go. Therapist walked in and out of each appointment, during the appointment, to get something. One appointment, she took a personal phone call. The second doctor made the follow-up appointment herself and no-showed us. It s just disappointing. I hope someone else has a better experience, but we won t be back.
