About Healing Springs Ranch

Healing Springs Ranch is an alcohol and drug rehab center for adults in Tioga, Texas. They offer residential treatment on an 80 acre campus, which is located on a serene ranch. In addition to treating addictions, they also focus on healing co-occurring disorders like anxiety and depression.

One neat thing about this program is that it lasts a little longer than most residential treatment options. You can stay here for 45 days rather than the usual 30 days, which gives you more time to enjoy the peaceful, secluded environment. They base their services on the integrated addiction model, which means they use several different techniques to help you find the care you need.

You’ll work closely with your care team to create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs. Some of the services they might recommend include individual and group therapy, recovery focused educational programs, life skills training, and career counseling.

Something else I like about their approach is that they don’t just focus on healing the physical effects of addiction. They know that it’s a spiritual, mental, and emotional battle, too. That’s why they provide multiple areas around the campus for you to engage those parts of your mind and body. You can attend anger management classes, release stress through activities like golf and yoga, and act out events from your past through psychodrama.

They also give you time to talk about any mental health concerns that are lowering your quality of life and making you more likely to drink or use drugs. Your counselors will help you get to the root of those challenges and show you healthier ways to cope with stress. Before you leave the program, they’ll create an aftercare plan to make sure you can continue your recovery once you’re back in your community.

People who have stayed here appreciate that the providers took a comprehensive approach to treatment and really listened. They also mentioned it was helpful for their loved ones to play an active role in their recovery because it healed their family unit.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

Our Policy: Healing Springs Ranch works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact us to verify your specific insurance provider.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Equestrian therapy places a person into a working relationship with one or more horses. It does not lead to the development of horsemanship skills. In fact, some individuals may never ride the animals. They may prefer to contribute to the physical care and wellness of the horses instead. Therapists across the spectrum appreciate the adoption of this program into the mainstream. It is a valuable treatment alternative for a variety of mental health and recovery settings. Although it looks like the person is doing all the work, the horses themselves actively contribute to the therapeutic aspects.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

The benefit of group therapy has been documented and proven to be a highly effective treatment modality. Unexpressed feelings are the root driver to most, if not all, mental health and addictive patterns. Sharing thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment is an important part of group therapy and strongly affects treatment success. The climate of trust provided by the group promotes an environment where members feel safe to share their struggles and work collaboratively to understand one another. As individuals increases in self- awareness, they develop new ways of relating to people, and learn new adaptive behaviors. This also promotes progress towards their personal goals that brought them to treatment.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

If you have a parent struggling with alcoholism, don't send them here. Big mistake and a waste of resources. Look elsewhere.

I know the personnel and operators of this facility. In a world that has lost its sense of caring about others, the staff at Healing Springs has not gone in that direction. The staff at Healing Springs extends care and concern towards its clients and works to the best interests of its clients to help them prevail over the difficult situations that created the need for them to seek treatment. I highly recommend!

One of my really good friends went here she was desperate for help but it ended up being a huge mistake. I watched her suffer in desperation as every single thing that she did was wrong. She was treated as a child and still tried her absolute best to work this program for her children. She thought she was making the best choice in her life and it ended up being a huge mistake. Cps was involved they called them and every one else, she was released and relapsed within one hour. Please pray for her. I don t understand why they was so harsh with her she is trying and in recovery.

My experience at Healing Springs Ranch was great. I love the Director, MELISSA, and Rachel both have the heart and love to help and serve. The ones that are in need. I love it how they have a dual diagnosis where they deal with the mental trauma and addiction. When I was there, they had an equine therapy anger management art, it really helped me to be able to learn different tools to handle stressful life situation. I have been sober since 12 15 2018 and I am extremely grateful for my sobriety. My life hasn t been easy But I have learned tools to use to make sure that I stay sober.

Rachel and the entire staff at Healing Springs Ranch are dedicated to a powerful mission that will help change the way we look at addiction and recovery. They not only understand how to treat the symptoms of the disease, they understand how to get to the root cause and allow for families to thrive, even in the midst of chaos. Rachel herself has become a powerful thought leader in this space and I have been blessed and honored to know and collaborate with her and her community to help those that need it the most. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, then please reach out to Healing Springs Ranch.
