intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in North Carolina offers structure and support to help individuals maintain sobriety. The home is free from substances and offers 12-step programs, individual responsibilities, and mutual support with others in recovery. This setting can provide a lifeline as individuals strengthen recovery skills and prepare to reenter mainstream society. Most residents remain in a men's or women's sober living home for six months or more.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often used as a "step-down" option after you've completed a residential or inpatient program, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically involves a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for approximately 90 days. Programs offer structured programming that includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment varies among insurance providers.

Heart icon Treatment

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

You usually develop a strong bond with your therapist during individual therapy sessions. This helps you explore the underlying causes of your substance use in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Therapists help you develop effective coping strategies you can use in the community and improve your self awareness so you understand your addiction triggers.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

If you're struggling with insecurity about your ability to make changes in your life, motivational interviewing in North Carolina could be a good solution. This type of therapy offers support and empowerment to help you explore your options and decide how to move forward with positive changes.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Routine tasks are difficult for someone experiencing addiction. Daily skills deteriorate, which makes it harder to achieve recovery. That's why drug rehab programs in North Carolina reteach basic life skills. This gives you the tools you need to manage daily life without returning to substance use.

Nutrition Therapy

During nutrition therapy in North Carolina, you'll work with a nutritionist to develop a dietary plan. Medical professionals will provide input based on your health needs. You'll learn to create goals for nutrition and develop the skills you need to meet them.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

When you participate in experiential therapy in North Carolina, you'll harness creative expression to release negative emotions and experience positive ones. This happens through hands on interventions such as music, art, animal care, culinary arts, and drama.

Harmony recovery has been a very big help to me and my recovery and mental wellbeing. I came to harmony because I was in a state of real depression. Since being here at harmony it s been an uplifting and sound experience. The Counselor and housing team go above and beyond for us. And the treatment is what you make it but it s with great help from a great support team of therapist and technician.

R-U-N! If I could give this organization 0 stars I would. Please listen to this if you are thinking of coming here for mental health, please go somewhere else. Somewhere that will cater to your needs, somewhere that will treat you, somewhere that will treat you like a human being that needs help and first and foremost somewhere that respects and values you as a person and not as a dollar sign. I have been a patient for three weeks and in 3 short week this place has destroyed my mental health in different ways that where unbothered than when I came in. Patients are so incredibly unhappy, but are so afraid to leave because we are trying to make sure our insurance will still pay our claims and not bill us if we AMA (they call it - leaving against medical advice simply put us leaving the program because it s not benefiting us). There are a couple wonderful facilitators and techs that care but the rest of the staff, again you are just their paycheck. There are constant threats of violence, active drug use and a lot of other things that go on where enforcement is not upheld. We ve had group where we ve sat by ourselves for hours because our therapist just never showed up. I never had a one on one therapist while in the program. Supposedly this is basically my fault because I requested a female therapist (due to having trauma with men) even though they have female therapists on staff. My review would be too long if I stated everything, all I can say is please get some real help and this place is not the place to do that.

Don't believe what admissions tells you, we don't go on outings, nobody listenes to what you say and they don't care, they make you go days without important medications, this place is all about money. They focus on things that aren't important instead of making it a good experience. They focus more about dirty dishes than people using in housing, didn't go to church today without any explanation. You spend 42 hours a week in a building PACKED full of people, there's been a covid outbreak in the facility and they pack you in a small building with ALOT of peole anyway. I would suggest investigating other options before committing to this program. Very unorganized, no structure and they have way more clients then they can handle and admit new people daily. Only reason I stay is because I've been here 3 weeks and I just want to finish this instead of finding another facility and start all over again. I pray that anybody seeking real, kind, committed, dedicated, and professional treatment reads this and finds a better place. Not complaining just letting future clients know what's going on and simply telling the truth. This place makes mental health worse not better. They do not care about mental health at all, if you want suboxone they'll give it to you if you have bad anxiety, ptsd, paranoia, mood swings and trauma they'll put you on everything BUT what you need. Drug addicts get everything they want while mental health clients are swept under the rug, ignored, not taken seriously, not heard and don't get the medications they need. If you are reading this PLEASE try to find another facility, your mental health is very important. This is NOT the place for you. I'm a very kind, loving, patient, understanding and happy person trust me if this is how I feel it's NOT good.

Choosing Harmony for my husband was the biggest mistake I ve made in a very long time. I have never seen a more unorganized and inefficient company in my life. There are too many chiefs and not enough Indians. You will never get the same answer twice. At intake every answer that I was given for my questions was incorrect and I was not informed about how they handle substance abuse recovery. They actually have people who says that addiction is a myth and firmly believe in medicated recovery so there are patients nodding out and hooked on these medications during class and they do not see that as a problem. There is no 12 step model of recovery used in this facility. My husband has been an addict for years and this was the first time he reached out for professional help and I regret wholeheartedly choosing this rehab The director is inept and clueless about his job. I cannot even get someone to provide me with his email or direct phone number . We are currently going through line by line with our insurance company because I believe there is some shady practices going on. I was never informed that classes and meetings would be mental health, eating disorders, and other issues and not just drug.addicts. Worst decision ever. I do not recommend this place at all. I was looking for a drug rehab but this place is an unorganized circus.
