About Gaudenzia Erie Outpatient

Gaudenzia is located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Gaudenzia addresses the needs of chemically dependent adults and provides specialized programs to meet the varied needs of the community. Gaudenzia provides aftercare and continuing care services for those individuals who have completed an inpatient rehabilitation program.

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is day treatment on an intensive schedule. IOP programs usually meet more often than regular outpatient programs, have longer sessions, or both. Unlike an inpatient program, outpatient care doesn’t require a long-term hospital stay. Services offered include individual and group counseling and assessments.

This day treatment is a low level of care designed for clients with mild symptoms or who have previously completed a higher level of treatment. Outpatient programs allow clients to receive treatment without requiring a long-term hospital stay and can accommodate busy schedules.

Co-occurring treatment is designed to help clients living with both addiction and a behavioral health diagnosis.

Gaudenzia doesn’t list its accepted insurance plans, though treatment programs commonly work with major insurance plans (like BlueCross BlueShield, Ambetter, Humana, TRICARE, and Ant). Clients should confirm coverage with their carrier, as out of network benefits may vary.

They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

The work of the counselors and staff is outstanding they put their hearts into what they do.The working environment is a much different story. If you like a clinical supervisor that doesn't do their job and makes your job harder, if you enjoy high turnover and being treated like your time is less important as an employee, if you enjoy long work hours that you're hassled into working because the company drags its feet to fill an open position please apply here!

This place was an absolute joke! They run it as the therapeutic community (TC program) like the PA Dept. of Corrections does but there's little or no guidance from staff! Also, I had gotten hurt playing volleyball and went to the hospital. Upon return I was given a urinalysis which came back dirty for benzos. Even in my addiction, I had never used benzos. I had previously seen a doctor that said due to the medicine I take it will produce a false positive. Instead of these so called professional counselors that are there to help, obliging my request for a blood test, they instead kicked me out on the spot! Now I had come from jail and had no clothes so the week before I was allowed to go and spend my money on new clothes and shoes! Instead of being able to carry these clothes due to severe bruising on my feet playing volleyball, I was forced to leave all $400 worth behind. By the way, I had no ride and live 80+ miles from Erie, PA! Thanks Gaudenzia! You reformed me! If there was a way to sue u people, I'd do it ASAP!!!

This place is seriously screwing with my life. When I'm sick, I can't even take any medicine that actually works because of a risk of a false positive and them piling on more undeserved negativity and placed in some ridiculous program for no reason even with a perfectly good explanation.
