About Gateway Counseling Services

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides a deferred-prosecution treatment option, along with assessments, recovering maintenance services, and individual therapy. Intensive outpatient meets at a higher frequency than traditional outpatient services. Typically, clients meet three times per week for three hours at a time. If it is determined that a person needs a more intensive level of care, he or she may be referred to a treatment center that can offer alcohol and drug rehab services or mental health counseling services with more structure. Examples include partial hospitalization services, inpatient treatment, and residential treatment.

Once a person completes the intensive outpatient program, it is common to step down into an aftercare phase of treatment. Clients can choose from ongoing therapy, self-help groups, and community-based programming.

Gateway Counseling Services accepts most insurance plans, including United Healthcare, Beacon, Magellan, ComPsych, Aetna, Amerigroup, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. Out of network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage with your provider prior to starting treatment.

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

check iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

check iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

check iconDrug Addiction

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

check iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

check iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment emphasize the importance of personalized care. Your therapist works with you to understand your unique life experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms to address your underlying issues. This comprehensive approach to recovery is the foundation of drug rehab.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

I believe the counselors are sincere and doing a good job. But, I really do believe when I went in for my court ordered assessment Gateway was seeing $$$$$. Just my opinion.

This is truly a place for recovery. Most people aren't arriving at Gateway because they chose to (i.e. court ordered treatment) but I'm glad I did regardless. Everyone from front desk on up is kind, caring and professional. They are invested in helping you. Take this process seriously. Most of us don't arrive here because our lives and substance use are in balance. Thank you to Gateway for being a major part in my recovery.

Gateway Counseling is amazing. At first everyone is gonna be a little apprehensive, but as time goes on you start learning that the counselors and staff are there to help you. They will work with you, and they only want what s best for you. I found my experience at gateway to actually be quite wholesome and fun. I ve learned a lot and I certainly am proud to consider everyone there my friends. They have done so much for me and went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. They are respectful and they deserve that respect as well. I may have been forced to go but that did not deter me from enjoying the time I had. And actually feel accomplished when I graduated.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I had a chance to review your file and I stand behind the counselor s assessment. Diagnosis is based on many things, including, but not limited to, clients self reporting, dch, adr, if there was previous treatment for drugs or alcohol, and testing completed by the client. We follow the ASAM diagnostic criteria and we give an accurate diagnosis based on said criteria. I am happy you found a place better suited to your needs to complete your treatment. Our goal at Gateway Counseling is to help people who want to live a life free of drugs and/or alcohol and we wish you the best on your journey.

I came in on my own ,not court ordered,to get an assessment for reanstatement for my CDL,I was assured that I was at the right place and that all I had to do was pay my fee ,sign some paperwork, drug test ,see the counselor, and jump thru their hoops, which I did,all went well until I received a non compliance from dot claiming that my driver's license would be revoked if I didn't take the proper steps, the state would not accept that a mistake on the assessment facilatys part,on the same day I received this the counselor called me and said that my money would be refunded and that he had made the mistake of assessing me because he was not really licenced to do so and good luck,I had to go to a DUI class to get my driving licence from not being revolved,I never had a DUI, it was a complete clown show,I would not go there

Response from the owner1 year ago
We do not tell clients they just need to sign paperwork and do a drug test and pay a fee. We do a thorough evaluation on all clients and diagnose based on the evaluation results. When making an appointment if you tell them you are doing this on your own, they wouldn t know this is for DOT. We do not do DOT evaluations and refunding your money was appropriate. We also do not report to DOL if you have not been convicted of a DUI. Gateway does not have the ability to report to the department of transportation. All of our counselors are licensed to do drug and alcohol treatment evaluations, we just don t specifically do the ones for DOT. There was no mistake in assessing you and there was no mistake in any diagnosis if one was made. The mistake was saying you wanted an evaluation for yourself and not being specific that the evaluation was for DOT.

I would give them 0 if I could. Absolute wretched group. Staff with falsify your information out of pure greed. Will lie to you and city offices. Avoid them at all costs. Staff looks like they all have a crack addiction too.

This review was left by a person who has never been in our office. The description of our staff and services is outrageous and untrue. Our staff is very kind, caring, and honest. They go out of their way to help each client who walks through our door learn to live a meaningful life without the use of drugs and alcohol. Our services are top notch. Our counselors are highly trained, smart, and compassionate individuals who truly care about the success of their clients. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak praises of our counseling and administrative staff! Amy Hayden

Gateway clinical staff are super respectable , firm , and fun as well . We have open debates as well as structured curriculum that we take from and feed our thirst for knowledge about the disease known as addiction . The staff have a responsibility to report to the courts so it's not there fault if you have a dirty urine analysis , but however they will work with you to see what is making you want to use or drink and proceed from there . We are all human and are struggling with addiction - alcoholism in some form or another . If you want help and are willing to put forth some effort the staff will accept you with open arms and open hearts . I have been an alcoholic addict for 26 years and I have never been at a treatment center better than Gateway Counseling Services . David , Lacey , Nathan ,Deanne big shout out for helping me learn about my triggers , my warning signs , and stumbling blocks on my road to recovery . David I will be pulling out my relapse prevention plan and revising it every three months to keep things current for my ever changing program . Lacey you are a very wise individual with a strong knowledge base and a caring soul . Nathan your expertise and knowledge is surpassing , always prepared for that hard question ! Very amazing groups I have had with you and a lot of great skills I have learned thank you greatly .Deanne you have been with me from the beginning and I thank you for always telling me how it is , I have the utmost respect and care for you and do value the friendship we have . To the front house staff , Allan you are an amazing person never change , I enjoyed the times we've had on the phone as well as in person you are always helpful . Becca, thank you , thank you , always a great way to start the zoom meeting off right :) . Josie very caring , attentive to detail , and a very cool individual . My time with gateway was short but great bonds were born and I understand myself better as a person , most of all I have a lot better grasp on the reality of my disease - addiction and have tools to help me cope as well as overcome stumbling blocks and personal trauma . I want to thank you all at gateway for showing me the path and holding my hand along the way , it's time for me to walk the right path with my head held high .Sincerely , Raymond Lee Brummett
