About Conewago Snyder

Firetree’s Conewago Snyder facility is in Beavertown, Pennsylvania. They help adults who have drug and alcohol issues with strategies like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. You’ll be staying in a residential facility and you’ll have access to detox.

The residential treatment has counseling and relapse prevention strategies. Since the program is geared toward specific genders, you’ll have opportunities to socialize with your cohorts, especially during 12 Step groups and peer support programs. There’s also trauma therapy and first aid classes. Life skills is an important part of your recovery. Life skills classes are held daily using Firetree’s life skills curriculum.

The facility houses 34 beds, made up of one unit for women and one for men. Men have a separate detox unit that holds up to seven clients at a time. You’ll have opportunities for gardening, landscaping, and meditation. Smoking is allowed in certain areas, and there are classes to curb tobacco use. Laundry service and transportation to and from the center are provided.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA). There are in-house 12-Step Meetings on a daily basis.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Firetree has revised its pertinent policies and procedures in order to be certified as co-occurring capable.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. Family therapy is included at the individualized plan when necessary once every three weeks.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Unfortunate, in my life, I’ve been to many treatments. This is by far the worst treatment facility I’ve ever been to. I spent 90 days constantly feeling the social pressure of everyone using drugs in the rehab. Not to mention the staff; what a joke. I have to say the cou ... Read More

I was there back in 2019-2020 roughly and they saved my life. The nurses were all great, especially nurse Stephanie who had the greatest sense of humor and could always make me laugh .My counselor Nick was hands down the best counselor I've ever had and helped me immensely. And the techs and drivers don't get enough credit for everything they deal with on a day to day. I would highly recommend this rehab to anyone who is serious about changing their life. Thank you for saving mine .

Great place! I was there 35 days and was helped so much. The staff is great. My counselor was very helpful and genuine. The guys that gave me transportation to and from, thank you for getting me there and home safely. The nursing staff and doctor were great, too. The monitors were kind, helpful, and made sure I had what I needed for a successful treatment stay. Thanks!! Shawn W.

My Fiance was just here for detox..... I am so grateful for this place! He was in another facility 2 days prior and hated it. Spent one day and came home. I was so discouraged. I thought "am I going to lose him to his addiction?" But the next morning I called the detox here. I was here 8 years ago. It was like a resort pre-covid. He said he would give it another shot. He had not one bad thing to say. The place is clean. The staff truly cares. I myself will never forget Miss Pam. If you truly want to get clean.. You can do it anywhere. I just believe that if you are comfortable and have less distractions of the facility being ran poorly....you can focus on yourself. I recommend this place highly!!!!
