About Daymark Recovery Services – Stokes Center

The medication-assisted treatment program provides FDA-approved medications in combination with mental health counseling. The medications help individuals safely and effectively withdraw from addictive substances and manage cravings during treatment. The mental health component of the program helps clients create a substance-free lifestyle so they can eventually taper off the medication support.

The intensive outpatient program generally meets three times a week for three hours at a time. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychiatric care, and tailored care management are available. General outpatient care offers similar services but meets less often than the IOP.

Daymark Recovery Services–King may accept multiple insurance plans, such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon, United Healthcare, and more. Be sure to check with the insurer to verify out of network benefits and other coverage information.

Accepted Insurance

Daymark Recovery Services – Stokes Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Treatment represents an array of services designed to meet significant behavioral and/or psychiatric symptoms that have been identified as treatment needs of the individual seeking services. Needs are identified through clinical assessment and evaluation, and/or crisis planning, with the participation of the individual seeking services and others of their choosing. Daymark provides outpatient treatment to adults and children (Age 3+) with primarily mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. Hours of operation are designed to be available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM at a minimum, and thru 8:00 PM in many locations.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) evolve with clients' changing needs and are often well-suited for clients exiting inpatient rehab and those at an increased relapse risk. These programs typically involve between nine and 20 hours of treatment weekly, with the intensity and frequency of care decreasing as clients stabilize. Most intensive outpatient rehabs integrate a variety of treatment modalities to maintain a high level of individualized care. Services generally include counseling, recovery education, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer a complete continuum of care for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery and are predicated on the idea that addiction disease is a chronic condition prone to relapse and warranting continuing care. Clients collaborate with their care team and case manager to access the specific rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety. Peer coaching, relapse prevention services, career counseling, and 12 step program induction are common in these programs.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectic Behavior Therapy is for people with Borderline Personality Disorder, substance use disorders, and binge eating disorders. It helps individuals learn how to regulate strong emotions more effectively. DBT teaches coping skills and different tools so a person can line a more healthy and stable life. The end goal is to have a life worth living.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Victoria is one of the best facilitators there. She is extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter of our group. As well as being a great listener; taking in all we have to say. Giving great feedback on what I can do to better myself and keep moving forward on my path of recovery. Life has become so much more manageable since I've been coming to Daymark and I would recommend anyone else that is seeking help to take advantage of all the services they have to offer.

I have individual therapy in King office with Ms. Kristy Mabe. Also Victoria Brown for SAIOP helps me tremendously, and Carol Haskins works to help me anytime through Tailored Care Management. Both are great listeners and helpful counselors. I feel their care and I trust them. They want what's best for me and I can tell so.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave our Stokes team a 5 star review! We're so glad to know that Ms. Mabe and Ms. Martin are helping you and we look forward to serving you again soon.

Kristy Mabe is the only good thing about Daymark. Everything else has been a terrible experience. They're usually late and disorganized. A psychiatrist here behaved so unprofessionally aggressive over my medication list, to the degree that I had to ask her to calm down. A doctor outside of Daymark laughed when I told them I was asked to leave a positive Google review after one of my in-person visits (where I was not seen, though I was scheduled) because that is so strange for a "medical" office. Asking for good Google reviews implies to me that they are desperate to improve their reputation cosmetically on the internet. Most people I know are disappointed with their services and only come here because there's no other low-income options in the area. I am so grateful I never have to come here again.

We apologize that our service did not meet your expectations, Madison. We are committed to continually improving our care, and your feedback is invaluable to this process. If you are willing, we would greatly appreciate any specific insights you can provide to help us enhance our services. Please do not hesitate to contact us at px@daymarkrecovery.org.
