Especially Michelle, and if it wasn't for Emily I wouldn't even have been here they are the best. I want to thank each of them for everything they've done for me I know I'm skipping a lot of names that I can't remember of the top of my head. MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

I can't say enough wonderful things, about this extraordinary place. Initially, being from San Diego, after reading the terrible reviews, I was so apprehensive, reluctant to go here, to the point of getting sick, thinking this place sounds awful. I couldn't have been more wrong. Shame on these people writing those terrible reviews. It's a bunch lies, on truths, fictitious statements. I went in expecting the worst. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTERING THE BUILDING, I KNEW HOW LONG THOSE REVIEWS WERE. IT WAS RIGHT IN MY FACE I've never experienced so many wonderful people, all in one place. You'd be lucky to get just one kind person, but in this place, the love is everywhere. I mean it. I can't say enough. No judgement, no looking down, no feelings of shame because of the way they speak to you. To the contrary, they treat you wonderfully, with kindness and compassion and with a real desire to help. God bless every single person at this facility. They truly are doing GOD'S work. Angels, here on earth, to help those in pain, we numb ourselves, with the drugs, just to get through another day. If I can do it, after my hellish life, I stand confident, anyone is capable. This place touched my heart. I go by actions and their actions at CT Counseling, tell me all I need to know. They ;I've what they're doing and truly care about other people, with a genuine desire to help others. There is no question about it.

Like ALL programs in or out patient if you WANT to stop and only need the means, guidance and support to do it than this Is the place . If it was forced upon you or just not ready then may be the place but it may take you more than 1 attempt . In the beginning it’s about reducing amount of your intake substance as you increase amount of medication. That amount and that pace is unique to the individual and CCC recognizes that and also respects that . As long as you trend in proper direction and continue to show progress you have the support of your Counselor. Once stabilized they develop your treatment plan. When you have decreased and eliminated substances and have found a comfortable level of medication dosage that is when you now replaced your bad habit routine with a daily monitored stabilized routine that also is unique to the comfort level of individual discussing a wide range of topics with your assigned counselor: once trust is earned having clean random monthly tests you don’t have to be at the facility unless you chose to and you can begin to take home monitored medication to responsibly proceed with your outpatient program. Your counselor will encourage the timing the is best to decrease at the pace that works for you until you are done and substance free. So much better than 30 day, 90 day ,12 month 0r any predetermined length of time programs because every person is unique whether they feel confident they can do it in a year, 3 yrs, 5 , 10 or stay with this support system as a new part of life what is important is that new life is what you WANTED to achieve and join the team of success stories! In most other reviews I agree that it is about money for the center , but what business , paying their employees ,is not about making money to stay afloat? Also not all counselors are ex addicts that have felt & know exactly what & how we feel, but we can open up & let them learn about the uncontrollable disease & struggles of how our mind works!

I was recently really impressed and shocked to be honest, to have been given a Christmas card with a gift card to Kohl's for the holidays. Seeing the low reviews breaks my heart. I hesitate in breaking my anonymity and protected healthcare information from when I was a teenager. I was a resident in 1992 to 1994. Wellspring helped me tremendously. Especially the Adventure Program where we would go on hikes. I found a love of nature and friendships for a lifetime. The current director, Dan Murray was my therapist and he was so gentle and caring. He cared a great deal about all of his patients. Many of us are still friends and remember him so fondly. I also went on to Angelus House at 18 and finished my senior year of high school at the local public high school. The transition helped me gain confidence and lifelong friendships from there as well. Thank you for the lessons. Many sunk in much later in life, but you helped plant the seeds.

For the most part the staff are friendly. The curriculum is great. The phones can be a real pain in the butt to get in touch with somebody if you are calling for the first time. Make sure when you go in to fill out your paperwork and do your intake that you ask for somebody's card, that way you can reach them directly if something comes up where you can't attend iop. A van comes in the morning and picks up between 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. house to house to house. Everybody gets picked up and then everybody gets brought home so it's really cool. It's Monday Wednesday Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and we also get two different 15 minute breaks which is nice. We get coffee during the first break and snacks. We do anger management on Wednesdays I believe it is or maybe it's mondays. But a lot of the stuff is educational and we meditate for the first portion and talk about our feelings and things that have been going on for us.

It’s hard to believe that in a couple of months it will be two years since I walked into the doors of Center for Discovery Congress. My time at CFD was truly transformative. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth, compassion, and an incredible level of care. The staff—therapists, dietitian, and counselors—were not only knowledgeable but deeply invested in my healing journey and SO extremely patient with me. What made my experience so impactful was the holistic approach to recovery. They didn’t just focus on my eating disorder; they helped me address the underlying trauma that contributed to it. Through specialized trauma work, I was able to process past experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The therapy sessions, whether group or one-on-one, gave me the tools to navigate my emotions, build resilience, and truly begin healing from the inside out. Beyond the incredible care, one of the most meaningful parts of my journey was the connections I formed with others in treatment. Being surrounded by individuals who truly understood my struggles created a sense of belonging I had never felt before. The friendships I built during my time at CFD became a source of strength and encouragement, reminding me that I was never alone in this process. We supported each other through the ups and downs, celebrated victories—big and small—and formed bonds that will last a lifetime. The environment itself was nurturing and free of judgment, allowing me to focus entirely on recovery. Every meal was a step forward, supported by professionals who understood the complexities of my struggles. They gave me the tools to helped start rebuilding my relationship with food, my body, and most importantly, myself. Center for Discovery Congress gave me hope when I felt lost. They empowered me with the strength and skills to move forward, not just in my recovery from an eating disorder, but in my overall healing from trauma. I am forever grateful for their kindness, patience, and unwavering support. If you or a loved one are struggling, I wholeheartedly recommend Center for Discovery—you will be in the best hands possible, surrounded by a community that truly cares.

I was at Center for Discovery for 5 and a half months. Out of all the 31 treatment places I have been this one was by far the best. The staff are amazing and so caring and really have all the clients best interest in mind. You are not just another client… you become part of the congress house where everyone cares so deeply about everyone. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is getting the right treatment that is good for them. I liked how individualized each person’s treatment was. I am very lucky that I got to have Angela as my therapist. Angela helped me in more ways than I could ever express. This in it’s own shows how amazing and devoted the staff are to ensuring each person’s recovery. Angela was going on call (leaving as the full time therapist) but stayed an extra three months to be my therapist until I discharged. The clinical director Sam took vacation days so that Angela could come in and see me (technically Angela wasn’t supposed to come in because she was on call). because Sam knew how important it was for my recovery to continue the work with Angela. I have never been to any other treatment center that would do that or even think about doing that. That in itself made a huge impact on me that they were willing to go out of their ways to ensure I get the best possible treatment. Sam is an amazing clinical director and I really look up to her a lot. Some of the staff have been there for 8-10 years which is rare for ed treatment centers. That in itself shows how great Sam is. The groups were all great as well and the counselors are all amazing. I learned so many coping skills that I implement into my everyday life. You can also check in with your therapist as many times as you need and you can also check in with the other therapist’s as well. Dorcas and all the nurses are also amazing and go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is okay. Dr. B the medical doctor is the best doctor I have ever met in my life. I looked forward to seeing her every week! If you have the opportunity to go to this specific cfd location I 100% recommend it! It is honestly life changing.

This is my second time coming to CFD Congress Location, I had left AMA the first time and it was the WORST decision of my life. I relapsed almost immediately but this made me realize that unlike other treatment programs, this program works HARD to heal deeper psychological situations contributing to your eating disorder. From every counselor (Allyson, Katie, Rosa, Jordan, Kim, Tasha, etc) , nurse (Aiasha, Dorcas, Debbie, Tiana, Shantel, etc.) therapist (Angela, Saer, Melissa, Lauren) to dietician (Simone) they work to know every aspect of your person in order to appropriately treat you. The work toward recovery is long, difficult, and emotionally exhausting but the staff AND program director (Samantha) are there for you in the wink of an eye. There is a camaraderie between the patients and staff that is not present in ANY other program; where they just check a list for recovery as if it is an equation. Staff works with insurance to make sure you have adequate enough time to truly heal and recover physically and mentally. When the world feels unsafe, this house is a safe haven for those with eating disorders and trauma. This program also prepares you to continue your recovery in the outside world where you may be surrounded by a toxic culture or environment. True recovery and freedom from your eating disorder begins at CFD Congress location.

Although everyone has different experiences here, my stay was from December 3rd to January 27th 2020. This mental health residential treats the kids horribly, they never respected us and staff would constantly quit and staff complained about their jobs being “terrible” 24/7. Patients would “A-wall” or runaway all the time and all their things would be gone the next day due to them being found and taken back to a hospital. Staff forgot to give us mid-day meds multiple times. Staff can’t control the kids. knives would always be forgotten to lock up and kids would find them and self inflict pain (if u know what i mean) So many things were promised to me and my family that were not fulfilled. The outside area is not safe children where often left alone outside and kids would fall and get hurt. There was a patient who dislocated his shoulder while playing basketball and he was not taken to the hospital until days later. Honestly, this place was my worst nightmare and i hope to never see this house again in MY LIFE. This center made my mental health worst. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!

Laurel House, located in Stamford, Connecticut, provides services to individuals struggling with mental illness. If addiction is the primary diagnosis, the client may need to be referred to an alcohol or drug rehab center for residential or inpatient addiction treatment. Laurel House offers a holistic approach to treatment of mental health issues.
Lisa Shapiro, employment counselor, is truly the best of the best. She went above and beyond to help me when no one would with many projects and was very supportive with employment and SSDI issues. My thanks to all of the people of Laurel House who make our community stand out above the rest.

I have being patient there for a few years already. They change my Psychiatric twice for no reason. I don't even know who they are because they keep rescheduling my appointments because the new Psychiatric is not gonna be there. And I have been running out of medication for a few months already. And when you call and talk to the nurse JOAN she give attitude towards patients, she's UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, and calling patients liars. A very bad experience with arrogant receptionists with a bad attitude. I try to reach the manager and the supervisor of this place a few times and both never returns my phone calls. Both of them are very UNPROFESSIONAL!! I THINK THE DIRECTOR OF THE PROGRAM HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON AND PATIENTS RUNNING OUT OF MEDICATIONS.

I went here years ago I was on C unit and F unit..It was 1994-1997 we went trips on Thursdays. Had the lions club throw Christmas parties. Harry legette and Jeannie Lavalle. Funny thing is I can remember every name from sagamore But highschool middle school forget it 😂.Not a bad place we were over medicated. And some of the patients were transferred to other hospitals like Brunswick and south oaks. Suffolk NY still has a lot of these places open..

They treat bread and butter mental health problems, not just addiction. However, even if your issues are bread and butter, or addiction, I don't recommend. You will be treated like scum of the earth by the behavioral health community as they are going to assume that you are manipulative and lying when you deny any drug use what so ever. Even if you need addiction help, I feel that there are better places to seek it. They don't even value themselves- "but no one else takes my insurance" "so?' that was the practioner's response. Basically they don't care about you and will treat you like scum of the earth as well. completely not worth it. ask your PCP to help you find a proper provider. This place is not it.

I’ve had a wonderful experience at Ivy Rehab — the entire team is friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to helping patients recover and feel their best. The space is bright, welcoming, and well organized, and every visit feels well-coordinated from start to finish. A special thank you to Nicholas, who is exceptional. He’s fully present during each session, listens carefully, and clearly knows his stuff. His attention to detail, clear explanations, and encouraging approach make a real difference in progress and motivation. I always leave feeling both cared for and confident in my recovery plan. Highly recommended!
