About Crossroads Turning Points Inc

Crossroads Turning Points Inc. is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Pueblo, Colorado. They treat adult men for substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. They are an inpatient service that also offers supervised detox.

When you enter Crossroads, you will be given a full assessment and drug test to determine the level of care that you need. If you have a high level of drugs in your system, you will enter the detox program. After you have stabilized, you will take another assessment to determine if you need inpatient or outpatient treatment.

If you need inpatient care, you will attend group therapy many times a day every day. You will also have individual therapy several times a week. You will be assigned a bed, and you will get three meals a day. Outpatient clients will come in for treatment and go home at the end of the day. The number of hours you come in per week will depend on the results of your assessment.

You will learn coping mechanisms to deal with the emotions that caused you to use drugs in the first place. They will teach you to have a different way of thinking in order to change destructive behaviors.

They work closely with the justice system. They have a Strategic Individualized Remediation Treatment program that is designed specifically for people who have been convicted on drug related charges. The inpatient portion of the program is just 21 days long and fulfills many court orders.

The best thing about the Pueblo campus is that it offers many different recovery services to its clients all located in one place. They do have a women’s facility at another location.

If you think this place is good then you must still be on drugs. This place is hell on earth. Worse than jail and everyone that's in there now will tell you the same thing. These people will let you die on the floor without a care in the world. If you're looking for a place that will actually help you, this is NOT the place.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Colorado is necessary when someone needs help with substance abuse but is unwilling to stop using despite multiple negative consequences. Intervention services are available to walk family and friends through a step-by-step process of planning and executing the intervention. A successful intervention requires careful planning and set-up as well as appropriate follow-up. Intervention services can be crucial to carrying out each of these steps.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
For those that don't require round-the-clock care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term option that can be used as a step-down treatment or as an alternative to intensive hospitalization. PHP treatment requires up to 5 days a week of commitment where you'll receive 6 to 8 hours of support every day. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

The main principle of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Colorado is that substance use disorders are based on faulty thinking and behavior patterns. The goal of this treatment is to help the individual learn better ways of coping with challenges, which will lead to changes in thinking and behavior.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Men and women in Colorado have access to customized individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment. These sessions explore your life experiences and patterns of substance abuse. Your therapist helps you recognize harmful behaviors and thoughts that empower you to make positive changes for lasting recovery.

Therapists who employ motivational interview techniques seek to draw out the client's ideas about change and allow them to draw their own conclusions about the need for change. This method is often effective for clients who feel unsure about their ability to change or the need for change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During family therapy sessions, family members in Colorado work with therapists to understand addiction as a disease that has affected the entire family. This approach fosters empathy and reduces blame on any one member. Promoting this collective effort helps to support the recovery process.

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.

The right diet balances your body's dopamine levels, which are the natural "happy drugs" of the brain. Nutrition therapy helps you learn the best foods to eat to achieve and maintain this balance, which supports long term addiction recovery.

It was very nice going there expecting a simple counseling session and finding out they had a wide range of services for anything you may had to need at some point.

Last place to sign up for (DUI/Therapy) "Charlotte Garcia" is the last therapist that you ever want to go to...she never follows protocol....doesn't have time to hear all their clients....doesn't treat all their clients "equal"...always an has attitude when you ask a questions...I'd rather have (Dr.Phil) than to deal with somebody who so selfish, non-caring, doesn't have time and affection to give....she makes me wanna drink every time on how she presents herself...so sad.

I went there about 2 weeks ago. The staff, food and counselors are horrible!! The kitchen staff doesn't wear hair nets or beard guards. The rooms are packed with 6 people and the staff especially the director Don are incompetent!!Din will come around in the morning and harass the residents to the extent of looking over the stall doors in the restroom to see what you are doing!! This place is a joke and the staff is borderline incompetent!! What ever you do find a different place to get treatment!!

Car needed a jump so I called the clinic and told them my situation begging them to make this one and only exception about me being late to the clinic and I was told to bad so sad. Now I'm forced to find some heroin off the streets ending my year long sobriety just so I don't withdrawal from the methadone. Thanks Crossroads. For putting yourselves first and not waiting 10 minutes for me to get there. I could understand them not caring about my sobriety or physical health after becoming addicted to the drug they give out. I suggest that no one bothers with them and joins the other methadone clinic in town Colorado Treatment Services.

This place is of no help to someone needing actual medical support while going through withdrawals. I just called to have them have my brother call me, and they were laughing as they answered the phone (kinda unprofessional) considering the misery of the patients around them in detox. When i asked for them to find my brother to have him call me she pretty much acted like she would find him at her convenience..I suggest management find staff members that understand what pain and suffering addicts go through while in detox. I can't wait to get my brother out of this God forsaken place. No comfort or sympathy for those at their lowest. Send your family to Denver Health..Save you & your loved one heartache, because the first phone conversation your going to want them out.
