About Crossroads Counseling

Partial hospitalization services are provided to individuals who need higher levels of support and supervision than traditional outpatient treatment can provide. Individual therapy, psychiatric care, anger management classes, medication management, support for domestic violence, educational classes, and skill-building classes are provided.

The outpatient program offers individual counseling, group counseling, and family counseling. Treatment methods include psychiatric care, assessments, medication management, support groups for domestic violence, domestic violence perpetrator treatment programming, and angerman management classes. Additionally, dual diagnosis treatment services, addiction services, and referrals to higher levels of care are provided.

Crossroads Counseling accepts most insurance plans. If a person wants to use insurance to pay for treatment, they can contact their provider to learn more about their coverage. This coverage is important to verify before enrolling in treatment, because out of network benefits may vary from plan to plan.

book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

file-medical iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

house-medical iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Couples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Beat around the bush when it came to scheduling an appointment. Scheduled an appointment that was not covered by my insurance and proceeded to pressure me into coming in when I wasn’t available. I was unable to see the psychiatrist until I was seen for thirty days and my t ... Read More

They make appointments that are missed by them and want to discharge you like it s not grounds for a violation of probation, crossroads is the worst and needs to do better with communication

It s a great place! I love coming here! People make it seem like it s a bad place but it s not. It s a place to get help and take care of your self the right way. The people are very respectful and helpful in every way possible. They make arrangements and things when you need them. They also even maybe see u more den what u need to be seen! I definitely believe people who need help should definitely come try it out. Yes this place might not fit for everyone but for me and some others it might.

A doctor who spends half the time telling you how great you are and half insulting you and threatening to have you committed; then refuse to see you because you decide you dont want to start a new drug. Therapists who barely have any sympathy let alone empathy, and have no knowledge or respect for other belief systems. A horrible experience that only caused more anxiety and depression and resulted in prescription drug addiction that I am finally over, no thanks to this place, which was the cause of it. Its nice that they can make money off of those with problems . If there were no sick or depressed people, the doctors and therapists would be sick and depressed... What a shame that would be...

I had my initial intake and I needed to reschedule my first appointment. I left a message for them to call me which they did not so I called them. I was told I would get a call back for a reschedule. When I got the call back I was scheduled for the 6th. I then received a letter stating that if I didnt show up to my next appointment on the 30th that I would be discharged due to rescheduling my first appointment. Apparently thats not allowed. I didnt get this letter until the Saturday before my supposed appointment that I was NOT informed about in which I have to schedule my ride with Rabbit Transit for a Monday appointment on the Thursday beforehand so there was no way of me making that appointment. I got a letter of discharge stating they called me about said appointment on the 30th which I was NOT informed about. This place is unprofessional. I have already looked for services elsewhere. Id give 0 stars if I could.

I have Yasmine as my counselor from the sunbury location. She is the absolute BEST! I talk to her like Ive known her my whole life and that everything I say I know shes not judging. I look forward to talking to her and getting everything out! My fianc heard us talk before that he wants to sign up & be her patient also! It means the world to us when a counselor actually cares and remembers things that are going on in our life!

Couldn t see the psychiatrist to be put on medication unless I was seen by therapist for a month. Therapist assumed I was on medication and that I would only be seen every other week. Waited two months for first appointment. Subsequent appointments were rescheduled because of therapist s own conflicts. I was discharged for missing these appointments because I was not informed when they were rescheduled to.

1

My therapist rescheduled twice on me, left a voice mail telling me that my upcoming appointment didnt work for her schedule so when I didnt show up to said appointment I was discharged for poor attendance. Waited a month and a half to be seen at this place and discharged because they kept rescheduling my appointments. Not worth the hassel, there are better places in Williamsport to get help.

I go to the Sunbury office and my CRS is in Williamsport, I received more help and support from them in last 2 months than Ive received from Geisinger Psych in the past year.

I have not had a single good experience at this place. I have seen 3 separate therapists here, but the last one I saw was by far the worst. She made me feel extremely invalidated and said very rude things to me right at the first session. Basically told me that I have nothing to be depressed about and she literally told me let go and let god. Told me that I really wasn t serious about my suicidal ideation and that I need to be less emotional and sensitive. I have not felt that any of the 3 therapists i ve seen here have cared about me or even really done their job correctly. Stay away from this place, seriously. I have had better experiences with csg in Williamsport.
