About Courageous Transformations

Courageous Transformations is an addiction treatment center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Medication assisted treatment and therapy are some of the treatments they offer to help with recovery. They also provide faith based services if you want to incorporate Christian beliefs and values or those of another faith into your treatment plan.

You’ll work with a team of qualified staff members from doctors and nurses to counselors and psychiatrists who’ve been practicing medicine for decades. These specialists have gone through the recovery process and can offer their experience to you on how to navigate the challenges. The faith based program is based on the idea that a strong spiritual foundation can help you achieve your recovery. The goal of this therapy is to provide comfort to you through your challenges and build your resilience.

In Courageous Transformation’s opioid treatment program, you’ll receive medications such as Suboxone, naltrexone or methadone to help reduce your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The primary medication Courageous Transformations uses is methadone with the other medications being used occasionally. When you start receiving counseling the primary therapeutic approaches that your counselor will use are dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Courageous Transformations understands that individuals with a history of drug use may be at a higher risk of Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS. The facility offers support, testing and treatment options to help provide you with the care that you need. The organization accepts most insurance plans but will provide you with treatment regardless of your financial situation.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs are often clients' first stage of treatment following detox, and many, but not all, provide medically supervised detox services in the same inpatient facility. Clients in inpatient treatment receive intensive clinical support and supervision. They reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program and typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions and/or recovery-focused life skills courses each day. Many treatment centers also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs promote comprehensive and continuing care for persons in recovery through peer support and personal growth. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings is required. Participants also select a peer sponsor who mentors sponsees through the recovery journey. Though the 12 steps of recovery are rooted in the belief in a higher power, religious affiliation is not mandatory. These programs are designed to facilitate self-understanding and forgiveness, personal accountability, and acceptance of that which cannot be changed.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When your body is purged of all addictive substances, the process is known as detoxification, and this is typically the first step in the addiction recovery process. A medically assisted detox is generally performed in an inpatient setting, where you are monitored by a team of medical professionals who consistently check and recheck your vital signs and provide medications if necessary to help alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. After you've safely cleared drugs and alcohol from your system, you'll likely transition to an inpatient addiction treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

When you participate in cognitive behavioral therapy in New Mexico you can expect to follow a structured four step process. This involves identifying life challenges, identifying inaccurate thinking about those challenges, changing those thought patterns to healthy ones, and changing the resulting behaviors.

Weekly dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) sessions involve one on one meetings with your therapist. Each session lasts about an hour. You'll work on identifying and accepting your emotions while also learning how to manage them. Additionally, weekly 90 minute group DBT sessions give you the opportunity to develop and practice coping skills.

Group therapy sessions in New Mexico are structured and led by professional therapists with experience in leading groups. This ensures that the group discussions are focused and productive and that therapeutic goals are consistently addressed during each session.

Individual therapy offers men and women a customized approach to explore the root causes of their substance use and develop healthy coping mechanisms. This improves the effectiveness of treatment and helps to foster long term sobriety. Sessions usually involve an in depth exploration of your life experiences, including harmful behaviors and thoughts that drive addictive behavior.

The focus of trauma therapy is on healing the emotional wounds that happen after a traumatic experience. You may have witnessed the event or experienced it yourself. Your therapist will guide you through confronting those memories, which helps promote emotional regulation, resilience, and mental well being.

Substance use disorders disrupt thinking and behavior patterns, which interferes with critical life skills. Drug rehab programs in New Mexico include life skills training to allow you to rebuild those skills. You'll relearn how to think, behave, and interact with others in healthy ways so you can successfully navigate daily life.

I spent months with this clinic. They ask alot and I always did it. Well this week they completely did me dirty. Their doctor is always changing. On Friday I did my UA and other monthly paperwork. I told them I was completely out of Suboxone. They did not fill my prescription all weekend. Yesterday they were off. They HAVE STILL yet to fill my prescription. I'm a college student just trying to stay clean. Now I have to take off class to get anew clinic. These people are basically setting me up for failure. I haven't relapsed YET but I can't find a clinic to take me I can't handle the withdrawal. I haven't been given an explanation to why I haven't got a prescription. I've been to off opioids for a year. This is messing with my recovery. I'm scared for my life. Do not go with this clinic if you want sustained help with tour recovery.

Just got off the phone with the billing department after being told by multiple multiple methadone clinics and my own of 3 and a half years that no one would except my insurance and that they would not help me until I pay the past due $$$ due to me getting scammed on my insurance which I already filed a grievance and took care of takes time to go into affect. Anyway I m down to 20 mg from 160 and this is the only clinic that actually was willing to work with me, and the staff was friendly, even though I was very rude so I would say this is the first methadone clinic I found where they actually seem to care about their patients and not just the money I would highly recommend to anyone having an issue at another clinic. They were professional, friendly and could ve just turned me away, but helped instead

The big guy with the glasses at the front desk is the worst individual to walk the face of the earth, you should not poke me or ANYONE for blood 4 times, after I requested someone else MULTIPLE times he says no one else is there and drawing blood is a two person job so I have to wait till the lead comes back the next day and threatens if the lead can t get my blood I might not be able to dose. It was like speaking to a kid. Another occasion I was at the front desk and he was screaming at a patient about her annual IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS. He is extremely unprofessional and shouldn t work in the medical field. Prayers to anyone who interacts with him.

The only good thing about this place was my counselor, and she left shortly after I did. The directors always stood in my way and kept me from getting my take home doses back after they were lost due to missing a group and taking my anxiety meds. Once I moved out of state, they almost made me miss dosing because they just wouldn't send my transfer paperwork. They also wouldn't send my UAs and had to be bothered by my new clinic to send them, and then as a final eff you, they changed one of my last drug screens to a positive, but forgot to delete the original clean screen from the same day. This place only wants your medicaid money/cash and does not have any real interest in your recovery. This place only ever stood in my way. Thank God I found a new clinic where I moved to that actually cared about me and my sobriety. Almost 2 years of sobriety despite this clinic's attempt at doctoring my records. If you have a code, go ANYWHERE but here, you'll just be a number to them.

Courageous Transformations is hands down the greatest recovery oriented business I have ever been to. I've been to IOPs, Detox Clinics, Suboxone Clinics, and a clinic that offered Vivitrol. Not a single one could measure up to half as good as Courageous. These people are passionate about their job, supporting and reinforcing addicts in recovery. They are not judgemental and they work with everyone to meet everyone's subjective needs in their respective recovery. The only people I've known to have bad experiences in my 2 years of going there are people that simply didn't get things their way how they wanted them or people failing UAs and complaining about not getting more take home doses or being moved up in the program. Basically if you focus on having an honest journey in recovery where you don't try to cheat the system and you are accountable then this is the right place to go. Huge shout outs to Grace and Dallas for being amazing peer support.
