About Courageous Transformations

You’ll work with a team of qualified staff members from doctors and nurses to counselors and psychiatrists who’ve been practicing medicine for decades. Additionally, you can receive support and guidance from a certified peer support specialist. These specialists have gone through the recovery process and can offer their experience to you on how to navigate the challenges. They can also help you find resources for various needs such as employment, domestic abuse aid and housing.

The faith based program is based on the idea that a strong spiritual foundation can help you achieve your recovery. In faith based therapy you’ll explore your relationship with God and develop a deeper connection to your purpose. The goal of this therapy is to provide comfort to you through your challenges and build your resilience.

In Courageous Transformation’s opioid treatment program, you’ll receive medications such as Suboxone, naltrexone or methadone to help reduce your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The primary medication Courageous Transformations uses is methadone with the other medications being used occasionally. When you start receiving counseling the primary therapeutic approaches that your counselor will use are dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Courageous Transformations understands that individuals with a history of drug use may be at a higher risk of Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS. The facility offers support, testing and treatment options to help provide you with the care that you need. The organization accepts most insurance plans but will provide you with treatment regardless of your financial situation.

Albuquerque offers various family friendly attractions and outdoor activities. From taking a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway to visiting Old Town Albuquerque there’s no shortage of sights and sounds you can spend time enjoying.

Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Inpatient rehabs are often clients' first stage of treatment following detox, and many, but not all, provide medically supervised detox services in the same inpatient facility. Clients in inpatient treatment receive intensive clinical support and supervision. They reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program and typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions and/or recovery-focused life skills courses each day. Many treatment centers also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga and meditation.

12 step programs promote comprehensive and continuing care for persons in recovery through peer support and personal growth. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings is required. Participants also select a peer sponsor who mentors sponsees through the recovery journey. Though the 12 steps of recovery are rooted in the belief in a higher power, religious affiliation is not mandatory. These programs are designed to facilitate self-understanding and forgiveness, personal accountability, and acceptance of that which cannot be changed.

When your body is purged of all addictive substances, the process is known as detoxification, and this is typically the first step in the addiction recovery process. A medically assisted detox is generally performed in an inpatient setting, where you are monitored by a team of medical professionals who consistently check and recheck your vital signs and provide medications if necessary to help alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. After you've safely cleared drugs and alcohol from your system, you'll likely transition to an inpatient addiction treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

When you participate in cognitive behavioral therapy in New Mexico you can expect to follow a structured four step process. This involves identifying life challenges, identifying inaccurate thinking about those challenges, changing those thought patterns to healthy ones, and changing the resulting behaviors.

Weekly dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) sessions involve one on one meetings with your therapist. Each session lasts about an hour. You'll work on identifying and accepting your emotions while also learning how to manage them. Additionally, weekly 90 minute group DBT sessions give you the opportunity to develop and practice coping skills.

Group therapy sessions in New Mexico are structured and led by professional therapists with experience in leading groups. This ensures that the group discussions are focused and productive and that therapeutic goals are consistently addressed during each session.

Individual therapy offers men and women a customized approach to explore the root causes of their substance use and develop healthy coping mechanisms. This improves the effectiveness of treatment and helps to foster long term sobriety. Sessions usually involve an in depth exploration of your life experiences, including harmful behaviors and thoughts that drive addictive behavior.

The focus of trauma therapy is on healing the emotional wounds that happen after a traumatic experience. You may have witnessed the event or experienced it yourself. Your therapist will guide you through confronting those memories, which helps promote emotional regulation, resilience, and mental well being.

Substance use disorders disrupt thinking and behavior patterns, which interferes with critical life skills. Drug rehab programs in New Mexico include life skills training to allow you to rebuild those skills. You'll relearn how to think, behave, and interact with others in healthy ways so you can successfully navigate daily life.

WARNING TO ANYONE RECIEVING MEDICAL CARE HERE! THIS CLINIC WENT THREE YEARS WITHOUT EVER PERFORMING A ROUTINE STANDARD EKG SAFETY CHECK ON ME AND MY HUSBAND WHILE WE WERE UNDER THEIR DIRECT CARE AND BEING PRESCRIBED METHADONE. BECAUSE THE MEDICAL STAFF COMPLETELY NEGLECTED TO MONITOR BITH OF OUR HEARTS, MY HUSBAND SUFFERED A SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC TERRIFYING CARDIAC EVENT THAT PUT HIM IN THE HOSPITAL FUGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. JUST A WEEK LATER THE EXACT SAME LACK OF HEART MONITORING CAUSED ME TO SUFFER THE EXACT SAME CATASTROPHIC CARDIAC ARREST. UNLIKE MY HUSBAND, MY HEART WILL NEVER FULLY RECOVER, LEAVING ME PERMANENTLY DUSABLED AND LIVING LIFE FROM A WHEELCHAIR WITH STAGE C HEART FAILURE. THEY NEVER WARNED US ABOUT THE CARDIAC RISKS, OR RISK IF QTC PROLONGATION, OR OFFERED A SINGLE HEART TEST. WHICH MIGHT HAVE COST THEM 15 DOLLARS TO DO JUST FOR THE LITTLE STICKY TAVS, OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS PURELY BECAUSE WE WERENT WORTH IT TO THEM. DEMAND YOUR EKG'S. AND ADVICATE FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE NO ONE AT THIS CLINIC WILL, AND IF SOMETHING LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO US ENDS UP HAPPENEING TO YOU, REMEMBER THIS CLINIC WILL NOT TAKE YOU BACK EITHER, THEY WILL TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY, YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE ANY SORT IF JUSTICE, AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE IN SHAMBLES LIKE MINE. RECOVERY IS AVSOLUTLY POSSIBLE, BUT DONT RUSK YOUR LIFE TRYING TO GET BETTER AT THIS PLACE!

I want to share my experience with Dr. Maviglia, and Courageous Transformations Clinic to warn others! My husband and I were under his direct care for 3 years, and during that time, he never once ordered a single EKG on either of us. Because methadone carries a known risk 4 QTC prolongation, this lack of routine monitoring has left me dealing with permanent devestating consequences! I suffered sudden cardiac arrest, required resuscitation, and am now permanently in a wheelchair with end stage heart failure and chronic pain. Before this negligence, my only health struggle at all was addiction. To make matters worse, after these severe health problems occurred, the clinic refused to take us back. They were only worried about money and told us they couldn't work with us anymore. Forcing us both to find another clinic while dealing with a completely catastrophic medical crisis.I hope Dr. Maviglia sees this review, half in part so he is held accountable, and also to ensure that he never does this to anyone else and so that every future patient knows the risks of being under his care by just looking up his name or this clinics! Dr. Maviglia...I sure do hope saving the clinic and yourself the price of an EKG per year, whenever it's paid by Medicaid anyways was worth destroying my life and family.

Update: about 90% of the original staff just disappeared including the Dr. Everybody is so new, they got my dosage wrong, decreased it, without discussing that with me. I was on hold for 10 minutes this morning, after calling twice yesterday, immediately after my appointment to get the dosage right and still nothing. They act like you're a huge inconvenience for even being there. I guess they don't care about relapse like the original staff did. Go somewhere else, I will be
