About Mindfully Therapists & Counseling Services Anderson

Formerly known as Compass Point Counseling, Mindfully Ohio’s Anderson site is a behavioral health and addiction treatment center for adults. It's in Cincinnati, Ohio. They provide outpatient treatment, peer connections, and aftercare services. There's also special support for military personnel and veterans, those facing drug-related charges, the LGBTQ+ community, and clients with co-occurring conditions. Telehealth appointments are available.

Their outpatient treatment program is designed for individuals who require consistent therapeutic intervention but also need to maintain their daily routines. With flexibility at its core, you can access therapeutic services while managing personal and professional commitments. In addition to individual, couples, and family counseling sessions, they incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Trauma-informed counselors and psychiatric service providers are available if needed.

Understanding the profound impact of shared experiences, they have integrated peer support services into their framework. You can connect virtually with your peers who have similar challenges, fostering a sense of community and mutual understanding. These sessions are held weekly and act as a safe space to share, learn, and grow together.

Their aftercare services may include client linkages to other, nearby providers that can provide longer-term care and recovery support through various services. These include sober living, career counseling, food assistance, ongoing recovery groups, and related resources.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medical detox involves clearing your body of drugs and/or alcohol under the 24/7 care of licensed medical professionals. If you've become dependent on alcohol or drugs (like benzodiazepines or opioids), quitting abruptly can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects. The purpose of medically assisted detox is to keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be provided if necessary to mitigate any withdrawal symptoms.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapeutic technique that uses bilateral stimulation to alleviate the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder and enable you to move forward with a healthier perspective on life. Memory processing focuses on disturbing memories to help you achieve an adaptive solution and reduce the emotional intensity of the memories.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Scheduled appt as new patient for Aug 23rd, was told over the phone @ booking that I would receive email links for forms as well as a link to the secure video platform for the appt itself. Never received anything via email, so I called, was sent to voicemail. Left a voicemail, never got a response. 23rd comes around, I still have no link or forms email, still have not gotten through or gotten a call back, until the dr herself calls me wanting to know what happened. I told her, exactly what happened. She apologized, said they've had issues with this before, and we rescheduled as husband and I had since gone about our day when I had no way to complete the appointment. Now on Setpember 5th, I get a text message to pay a bill for Mindfully. I click the link to find out what is going on, to find out that I was fully billed for the appointment that THEIR office screwed up and never fixed. I absolutely will not be paying that, and I have cancelled the rescheduled appointment. This is ridiculous.

I received an email April 4th requesting I fill out forms for April 11th on April 5th I received an email telling me my appointment I made 4 weeks prior had been canceled. I don't hang on my phone and hadn't seen the april fourth email before I saw the cancellation email.I have never experienced such eliteism at a doctor's office before. And hope I never do again.

I cannot speak highly enough about the staff and therapist. The guidance they gave my daughter helped change her path. They were able to get to her in a way that I was unable to.

I highly recommend Compass Point Counseling. I worked with Jacob Munz for 2 and a half years, I went from being a shell of myself to a full human being again. It takes work though you have to want to work to feel better. I also participated in a year long DBT program (a program I initially didn't want to do) and found that it was exactly what I needed. Ask because these people are waiting to help you!

Response from the owner2 years ago
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your experience with your clinician and in working with our DBT team. It really does make our day to hear about how much more you are enjoying your life now. Great job in working through that growth!
