About Charak Center for Health and Wellness

Charak Center for Health and Wellness - Midway Blvd is a mental health and substance abuse treatment center in Elyria, Ohio. The center focuses on using the latest therapies and treatments and keeping its services affordable for its clients. Clients are able to receive telehealth therapy if they’re unable to receive treatment in person. They also accept walk ins and have therapy available for individuals, couples and children. Payment can be made through any insurance, as they accept all of them. Chakra Center has several accreditations from reputable organizations including the Mental Health and Addiction Advocacy Coalition and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Charak Center features a large staff at the facility that ranges from board certified psychologists to chemical dependency counselors. The main addiction they specialize in treating clients for is opiate dependence. Through their intensive outpatient program (IOP), they provide treatment services such as diagnostic assessments, individual and group psychotherapy and psychotropic medication management. They help clients overcome any underlying mental health issues causing addiction, including PTSD and bipolar disorder. In addition to the services available for clients, the facility provides family night groups for family members who have struggled with the client’s addiction.

When providing medication assisted treatment for clients, Charak Center uses Suboxone to help minimize withdrawal symptoms. One reason this facility chooses this drug is because patients are unable to become addicted to it, and it prevents them from experiencing the effects of abusing other drugs.

Clients can also expect to participate in the aftercare group. This takes place twice a week for 10 weeks, then once a week for 10 weeks. Clients then complete treatment with maintenance therapy once a month for a minimum of 20 weeks.

This place is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Don t play with your mental health and go here because they will SCAM YOU and never return your calls or voicemails. They tried charging me $400 without notifying my insurance. My last appointment the provider no showed me!!! I ve left multiple voicemails after calling and being left on hold for 10-30 mins each time. It s honestly sick what they re doing to people who are just trying to ask for mental health support. -1000/10 experience.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

Treatments

Treatment for drug and alcohol addiction addresses both the physical and the mental health impacts caused by a consistent supply of addictive substances. When addressing both an addiction and a mental health disorder simultaneously, a dual diagnosis treatment center is required. Staff are certified to deal with these complex conditions and equipped to deal with mental health emergencies that may occur.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Don't waste your time, the communication there is terrible. When I call and i'm waiting in line, by the time i'm next, they switch it to voicemail. After I leave a voicemail, they don't call back. I'll do the call back option and that doesn't work either. They never call back. I have left voicemails saying I need to cancel appointments with a counselor, and the day before the appointment that I had tried to cancel, my counselor will confirm our appointment. Obviously, the front desk doesn't check voicemails and communicate with their staff. They have given me a wrong appointment times. I had an appointment card for 5:30 and ended up with a text reminder that my appointment is at 4. Why? I was supposed to have an appointment yesterday with my psychiatrist at 4 but no text reminder. When I made the appointment last week, the receptionist said Tuesday at 4. So I guess I'll be waiting for a random Tuesday then. I'm gonna start looking for another company with better communication.

I'm over this place. I've only been going there for 2 months. They never schedule the correct time for my appointments. They never answer the phone or call back when I leave a call back number. I've requested multiple times through my pharmacy medication refills over a week and nothing... I've sent messages on their website and nothing... I've tried calling and nothing... I've been without my medication for seven days now....SEVEN!!! I've heard about the unprofessionalism that they have and now I believe it. I take my metal health very seriously and it's not cool that they don't.... I'm done with this place and will be finding somewhere else to handle my mental health. Thanks for nothing Charak Center.

Urgent update you're sorry for my experience? You're playing with people's minds.!!!!!!!!!I have a medically challenged son that's been going there for a while. They change counselors and case managers all the time like putting on a pair of shoes and taking them off so he couldn't get it connected with anyone not recommended horrible staff.Health and unwellness and uncaring.Your staff does come and go do not candy coat that. Once you're assigned to a specific person they have already left it's like they are a intern to get a stepping stone to a better medical facility. Charakcenter the place where they get you in and get you out and don't listen to your needs and focus on how much Medicaid cash crop they could reap. Please an URGENT PLEASE LOOK AT OTHER REVIEW SITES LIKE YELP.... THIS CENTER IS LUCKY THEY GOT ONE STAR. When we were there and left a long time in the lobby why would you hang a sign colorful, you would be staring at the this sign for a long time every time you visited schizophrenia.

Thank for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Each patient is assigned to a case manager at their initial visit, and we do everything in our power to schedule appointments with their assigned staff. However, there are times when hours conflict and a patient may need to see someone new. Every patient is unique and handles these situations differently. We would like the opportunity to respond appropriately to your concerns. Please give us a call so that we can address this situation immediately. Thank you.
