About Banner Health

Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, in Sun City, Arizona, provides mental health care and addiction recovery services for adults, including specialized programs for young adults, seniors, and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness. They offer intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programs.

Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed for clients who require high-level supervision and support, including those stepping down from inpatient care or at an elevated risk of relapse. Clients requiring higher-intensity inpatient treatment will be referred. Their aftercare programs enable a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs and may include step-down support and referrals for additional medical, mental health, and social services.

Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center works with most major insurance plans, such as Aetna. They also accept Medicare, AHCCCS, and others. Contact your provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary. Financial assistance is available.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Worst experience ever. An ambulance ride to the ER, then the attitude from the nurses? No follow thru on what they say are going to do. If you ask for anything, well, don't expect it, they appear to be bothered you even asked. This while in severe abdominal pain. I was admitted, the general "attitude" was the same. For two days I got no real information on my condition, just "we need to wait and see". If there had been an clear explanation as to why, that comment would have made more sense. After two days I asked to be released, I had to sign a form, and I got home. However, I was told I was being 'unreasonable' and got more of that 'signature' attitude that all to common. To be clear, not ALL of the nurses were that way, but MOST were, unkind, unfriendly, unempathetic. I rested for a day whiel still in pain and severe discomfort, drove myself to Honor Health Deer Valley. I received better care and information right away. I was admitted there, and was taken care of in a superb, professional, empathetic manner. My advice, unless your near death or severely bleeding, go somewhere else that is properly staffed with those who really want be there.

I have been in the hospital on numerous occasions. L&D is fantastic and my nurse was amazing, I wouldn't have made it through without her.I've also been in the ER for myself and family members and have had nothing but a great experience.I have had surgery and the team from the surgery to the stay was incredible. I can't say enough great things about this hospital.

Had great nurses help through the day and night specifically sienna emma and Keely were great but the pediatrician Barbarino is unprofessional making jokes about patients wanting to be discharged (me and my wife have been here over 24 hrs since the birth and baby passed all test waiting for pediatrician to show up) she showed up late and has the audacity to say she only has one brain to be patient, i was patient i waited 2 hours for her already and now going on a 3rd I m am terribly disappointed

My husband was flown to Banner Del Webb from a smaller hospital and ended up being intubated on a ventilator in the ICU. His care was horribly mismanaged by Dr. Zeman in the ICU. She told me our last night there that she didn t know why my husbands oxygen levels were so low and she had tried everything there was possible to do for him, and then she left for the night. I started facilitating a transfer to St. Joseph s on my own and had to fight my way out of Del Webb because they were slowly killing my husband. Dr. Zeman told me the only possible thing that could help my husband was ECMO because she had done everything else that could be done. As soon as we got to St. Jospeh s hospital the doctors got his oxygen up to 98%. He never ended up needing ECMO. The doctors said he had aspirated fluid while at Del Webb and had pneumonia. He also had a blood clot in his left arm. I had voiced concerns to the doctors and nurses multiple times about the swelling in that arm specifically and was told it was normal . Not once did they check for blood clots. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. We will be filing a complaint with the state. I would not recommend choosing this hospital or letting a family member or yourself be under the care of Dr. Zeman.

Worst patient care ever I just had my baby on 10/09/2024 after they put us in the room it's like they didn't care that we were patients there they didn't clean the room I was in there for 3 days and they didnt clean until the 3rd day and even then they only took out the trash I had to ask one of the nurses if they could change my sheets and she did but I'm sorry when I was at banner Estrella they cleaned that room all days I was there and they cleaned my sheets without me asking them they only came in when they needed to and then they were trying to rush us out by the 2nd day they took almost 1 hour to bring me my food even though it says on the app that they should only take like 30 minutes and on my second day when I asked for food they didn't bring everything I asked for I could hear the nurses laughing and chatting it up in the hall way it was just the worst ever I didn't feel welcomed or like if they cared I had a way better experience at banner Estrella

Got admitted in the emergency room and then moved on to a room with shared person. While I perfectly ok with that , since the hospital goes shortage of room often . But they brought in new patient who had some kinda of respiratory issues and was coughing continuously. I definitely feel such patiens should be given high priority and transferred to a single room . Hope the management takes care of this . The whole night wasn't able to sleep, while I have to go through the pain of passing kidney stones in the morning. Please do assign separate rooms for people with respiratory issues , as they will be more comfortable .Also endless time taken to discharge me home , as waiting for hours to get the paper work done .Room 511

Brought my husband in for clinically significant complications status post spinal surgery at the direction of his surgeon. Patient care was awful. He was put in a wheelchair chair and I was expected to push him despite informing the triage nurse I too was 14 days post op from ankle surgery. He was then call to phlebotomy, before being evaluated by a provider and I again was expected to push him across the waiting room limping. I asked the triage nurse if he can have some pain management and after 40 minutes she returned and informed me she communicated with his nurse, we are still in the waiting room. Finally the ED physician retrieved him from the waiting room to perform an inadequate physical exam in the triage room. My husband had to ask him to take the wheelchair from me. It appears the headhunters for Banner Health don t consider compassion a qualification for any roll.
