About Avenues Recovery Center: Drug & Alcohol Rehab In Lake Ariel

Clients seeking treatment for alcohol addiction may be required to undergo detox first. The detox process ensures any abused substances are out of a client’s system and that they are in a healthy frame of mind when they enter residential treatment. Detox is overseen and closely monitored by medical staff.

The residential program takes clients out of their current living situation (and away from potentially dangerous environments and triggers) and places them in a secure and comfortable shared residence. The 40 bed unit is centered in a beautiful natural setting with recreational and outdoor amenities. Clients in the program are under close supervision.

Lake Ariel provides highly individualized care. Treatment may include individual therapy, group and couples counseling, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). The program also includes 12 Step programs and holistic art treatments.

Dual diagnosis care is specialized treatment for clients with both substance use disorder (SUD) and a second behavioral health diagnosis.

MAT is the use of prescription medication to reduce a client’s withdrawal symptoms while they are in a treatment program. Drugs typically used in MAT include Methadone and Suboxone.

Avenues Recovery Center accepts private insurance. However, they don’t list specific examples (like BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, and HCSC). Clients should confirm coverage before enrolling, as out of network benefits may vary.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs prioritize the recovery journey as a life-long process based on personal spiritual growth and ongoing peer support. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are held multiple times each day in most communities, is expected. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected peer sponsor. The 12 steps are designed to encourage participants' self-compassion, awareness, acceptance, and accountability. Dedicated programs for specialized groups, including seniors, teens, and families, are common.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in Pennsylvania pay rent and contribute to household maintenance. For their contributions, individuals get the opportunity to live in a substance-free environment and receive support from others in recovery while all residents practice sober-living skills. Sober living expenses are not covered by insurance since they are not treatment services. However, grants and scholarships are often available to help individuals afford rent for men's or women's sober living.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

This place has helped me tremendously! The staff is very nice, encouraging, and supportive! The therapists here actually listen and give amazing advice. They tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. There is open communication, love, support, and great food! The clients are very welcoming and supportive to each other! Groups are run very well. A good balance of group and free time! Learned a lot of great stuff and tools here to help me in my recovery! They'll tell you anything to get you in. Promise things that will never happen. Was told they had just medical detox without AA. Wrong. Was told I would be able to call home daily. Wrong. And talk about filthy! Infested with flies and fruit flies. Wouldn't give me my medication, insurance card, or ID upon leaving. Wouldn't even let me call my wife to pick me up. Had to walk until I could find a place to make a phone call. Oh and they tell all the businesses in the area not to help you.

Response from the owner1 month ago
Hi Michael, We're sorry to hear that your experience at Avenues Lake Ariel failed to meet your expectations. Please know that we work every day to give each client the most rewarding and effective experience possible, and are always 100% transparent about what we can and cannot provide. Our website clearly shows that we are a 12-Step based program, and we offer medical detox as the beginning of a complete 30-day treatment program. We are not a standalone detox center, nor have we ever been. Phone privileges are granted shortly after beginning treatment, but if a client leaves before those few short days than they cannot realistically receive those privileges. Any client who chooses to leave early will be allowed to call a loved one to pick them up, even if their leaving is against medical advice. As we are located on 5.9 acres of countryside, there will occasionally be a few flies. Ultimately, recovery is open to all those who want it and choose to pursue it! Our doors will always be open to you should you choose to seek help. We hope that you find healing and serenity very soon. All the best, The Avenues Team

I had a great experience at Avenues and would definitely recommend it to anybody looking to start their recovery journey. The staff are all kind and helpful and really care about the success of the clients. The groups were informative and insightful and allowed me to feel comfortable opening up in a supportive environment. My counselor Makayla helped me work through things that had been holding me back and begin to move forward and start a new life. I am grateful for all of the help I was able to get at Avenues.

Avenues was a good experience. Staff is amazing and really care about each client. They offer a bunch of different therapies, and really try to cater to each clients needs. The food was good. Ryan, BHT, was really helpful. Alumni Katie is very sweet. Colleen was very helpful with my aftercare and helped with any paperwork that I needed. I would highly recommend avenues, it has been a life changing experience that I am very grateful for.

This was a great facility for someone who s been in treatment for the first time. There is a wide variety of professionals who all struggled with addiction themselves at your disposal to maximize the progress of your recovery. There is a good balance of tackling the physical and mental aspect of addiction here. The staff is personable and caters to your needs to the best of their ability.
