About Animo Education and Counseling

Animo Education and Counseling is an education center helping teens, adults, and court-appointed persons who have been incarcerated. This facility offers intensive outpatient and educational courses.

Animo uses a 12-step program to assist those seeking recovery assistance while going to work/school. The 12-step method provides a stage of change approach that allows clients to share their experiences with others in a supportive environment while addressing topics like relationships, self-care, and forgiveness.

Educational courses are provided to those who have been caught driving under the influence (DWI). Court-appointed persons attend programming that educates them on the dangers of driving under the influence and the effects of addiction.

This facility accepts self-pay and private insurance. However, major insurance providers such as Humana, Beacon, Anthem, ComPsych, Magellan Health, and Kaiser Permanente can cover these types of services. This is in addition to Aetna, Amerigroup, United Healthcare, Ambetter, BlueCross/BlueShield, and Cigna. However, it is advised to contact your provider to verify your out-of-network benefits.

If I could give this place zero stars I would, first off the women who answers the phone is super rude she hangs up when you ask basic questions when your a new customer at this program. They overcharge you fees and only care about the money and they lie about your attendance saying you don t attend the classes when you do. The lady that answers the phone had the nerve to say I need to use my common sense when she gave me wrong information. Please be warned go do business with another program. I can t wait till I get this over with I highly don t recommend this place to anyone

If I could rate this place a ZERO I would!!!! This the worst establishment EVER!!!! Horrible service!! I don't know how this establishment is still running. Seriously this is the WORST PLACE EVER!! The person who runs this establishment is super RUDE & does not help at all. How can you run a business that is supposed to help people when you're NOT willing to help. Instead of providing assistance, she simply hangs up in your face and then gets mad when you call back. This is Truly disappointing

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is horrible! The customer service rep was extremely rude! And literally stated I m done with you and proceeded to hang up in my face. I ve wasted over $100 with them and time. I don t see how they are still in business or have a contract to be recommended by Arlington Municipal Court. If you have 90 days to complete a course, I highly recommend you go somewhere else! This place needs to be shut down! Please, I repeat, PLEASE save your time and money! I really wish I would have read the reviews before dealing with them. It seems like they are the ones who need anger management.

Accepted Insurance

Animo Education and Counseling works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Both Arlington and Dallas locations are rude, impatient & very unprofessional.Spoke to someone at the Arlington location and she didn t like that I was asking questions pertaining to my acct, she cut me off to tell me she was going to transfer me to someone else. She then hung up on me. I called back and I asked what her name is, she hung up again. I called once more and she keeps putting me on hold. They re a joke.

Do not go with them find some place else. MHMR tarrant county should have better options. Yes if u do go it still counts towards ur completion, but u dont learn anything. If u pay any it conflicts with ur schedulen its nonrefundable. Everything feels like a scam. Services sucks they tell u lies like its a fee to protect from hackers so its nonrefundable. Then change it to its an application fees. The only plus size is it counts towards anything u need for court. When i find better sources i come update this reviewUpdate: Support 013 call me back and will issue a refund. We see in the next 24hrs. Change itnto a 2star from a 1 star

Place is a complete scam. I can t find one good thing about this place. I was told the wrong information several time. I had a court order to take a class here and was scheduled to take the class the day before I had court. In no world does it make sense. Front desk lady is absolutely atrocious, way too old and ancient. She was completely unbearable, and spoke down on me like it was my fault constantly that she gave wrong directions. She also spoke down on me for being a young mom, even asking would you encourage anyone to follow in your path , as if my life choices were any of her business. I was also charged 3 times, and was still never able to take the class due to multiple wrong directions. Then was rescheduled and told I needed to pay a 4th time to take the course. All around horrible place, waste of my time, money and energy.
