GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE ESPECIALLY FOR COURT ORDERED ASSESSMENTS AND CLASSES. They don t care to give you fair treatment, they genuinely only care about money. First, I was quoted over the phone by Molly that it was $35 for an assessment , then was billed $300+. I got an assesment from somewhere else but to receive the results it would put me past my court deadline to submit them. So I came here and explained the situation they guranteed me they could make the deadline. They ended up recommending almost triple amount of classes than the other assesment and did not even submit the assessment to the court on time. It was also the receptionist who does the assessments and relays the information to the actual therapist. Luckily, I received my first assesment although I did have to submit it late but once I submitted it and completed the classes I got my case dismissed. No help to them. Go to SEQUOIA COUNSELING FOR A FAIR AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. This place is literally a scam. I can also post picture proof of the first quote then the bill that came, then them guaranteeing the court deadline then missing it if needed. Don t walk, RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain.I also really respect what they do not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems.I m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. Jana showed true care and empathy towards me, and helped me feel supported and valued. I can t recommend enough!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients often choose to enter intensive outpatient programs (IOP) when they exit inpatient rehab. Others turn to IOP as an alternative to hospitalization. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level care for clients in early recovery and those at an elevated risk of relapse, typically requiring them to commit to between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week. The most prevalent treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery education, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic therapies, such as meditation.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs engage in rigorous group counseling, peer coaching, and personal development. Though 12 step recovery is rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation is not mandatory. The steps model promotes participants' emotional and psychological healing, which is presumed integral to sustained sobriety. Regular attendance at group meetings is expected. These meetings are free, anonymous, peer-led, and accessible day and night in most communities. Gender and age-specific programs and other specialized formats are common.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Each sober living home in Utah is a residence, not a treatment center. This setting does not provide clinical or medical treatment, but many residents attend recovery groups or outpatient rehab while staying at the home. The setting, also called a halfway house, offers a balance between structure and accountability and living in the "real world," to help people transition from treatment to everyday life.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If your friend or family member is suffering physically or psychologically from substance use but denies there is a problem, it might be time for a drug intervention in Utah. This process involves meeting with an intervention specialist from a facility's intervention services program. This specialist will interview family members to gain an understanding of the situation, then facilitate the intervention. Their expertise can prove invaluable in navigating this complex confrontation.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from your body under the care of medical professionals. In an inpatient environment, you'll be monitored 24/7 by doctors, nurses, and clinical experts, who will help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible and administer medication if needed to treat any withdrawal symptoms. The process may take up to a week or longer depending on your needs, and is often at least partially covered by insurance.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

During dialectical behavior therapy in Utah, you'll work on developing four main skills. Interpersonal effectiveness helps you manage your relationships. Mindfulness keeps you present in the current moment rather than worry or regret. Distress tolerance helps you accept emotions. Emotional regulation gives you the tools you need to successfully manage intense emotions.

Community building is an important aspect of group therapy sessions in Utah. The sense of community building among participants encourages more transparent sharing of experiences in a judgment free environment. You create strong bonds with the people in your group that support your journey to recovery.

During individual therapy, men and women in Utah work with their therapists to build healthier daily habits and create coping strategies to manage stress. These are two components necessary for sustained sobriety and improved overall health.

The foundation of motivational interviewing in Utah rests on four pillars: partnership, evocation, acceptance, and compassion. The therapist collaborates with the client, encouraging them to explore their options and make informed decisions about making changes in their lives.

Trauma therapy addresses the psychological impact of traumatic events. Together with a therapist, you identify the impact that trauma has had on your life and the factors that trigger emotional and physical responses. You develop better coping mechanisms to rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your life.

Couples at any stage of their relationship may benefit from couples therapy in Utah. It is designed to keep relationships on the right path by teaching both partners healthy forms of communication and conflict resolution.

Family therapists work with all members of the family unit to understand the impact that addiction has had on the family collectively and individually. Together they develop strategies to help their loved one recover. The therapist facilitates open discussions between family members to help build resilience and improve interactions. Ultimately, this supports their loved one's path to sobriety.

I have been coming to Amethyst Center for Healing since 2016, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Between all of their staff, they have the experience, know-how, and empathy to help you navigate life's challenges and assist you in the troubles that you've picked up along the way. Jana has assisted me through plenty of hardships, and given me a safe space to shine a light on my darkest wounds. I am forever grateful for the profound healing that has taken place here.**In reference to other reviews: I can't speak on somebody else's personal experience, but I have never been ignored when trying to schedule an appointment, and I have been shown nothing but respect and care when seeking help.**

Never answer their phone. The one time I did get through to schedule an appointment I was called back the day of to be told the counselor I was scheduled with already had an appointment at the time they scheduled me, so we re-scheduled for two more weeks out then the day before my new appointment that was scheduled the counselor called me herself to tell me she is out of town and wouldn t be able to make the appointment that was set only to offer me one date available another 3 weeks out. I let her know I d have to check my schedule and would make contact to set an appointment when I had my work schedule that far in advance in front of me. Since I have attempted to call at least 5 times only to have my voice mails ignored and no answer. I also made these calls on Thursday s and Friday s which I learned are the only days they answer phones.I would Not recommend this center considering they do not respect their clients or their time.

Horrible at answering their phone and the voicemail box is full. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of their general service - talking with a therapist - if they are horrible at communication... counterproductive.
