About AA – Alcoholics Anonymous
AA Alcoholics Anonymous, located in Mission Viejo, California, provides 12 Step meetings to men and women struggling with addiction. They are not a traditional alcohol and drug rehab center, so if a person is seeking around the clock care, they may need to seek care at an addiction treatment center.
AA Alcoholics Anonymous functions on an outpatient basis. Individuals work the steps, obtain a sponsor, learn about the principles associated with the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, give back to their local meeting by being of service, contribute to sharing and discussion, and in time, sponsor newcomers. Each person is responsible for his or her recovery process. This is a peer-led program that is offered at no cost to all who seek recovery in their lives.
AA Alcoholics Anonymous does not accept insurance. If a person is interested in using insurance to pay for treatment of any kind, they are encouraged to contact the insurance carrier to discuss their benefits because out-of-network benefits may vary from plan to plan.

Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
