I’ve had the privilege of sponsoring several people who’ve come through Visalia Recovery Center, and the difference in their lives is remarkable. The program’s team doesn’t just provide treatment — they equip people with real-world tools, accountability, and a strong sense of community that carries into life after rehab. Clients I’ve worked with from Visalia Recovery Center arrive at sponsorship already grounded in recovery principles, motivated, and open to continued growth. That kind of preparation makes it easier for them to thrive in 12-step work and beyond. It’s clear the staff at Visalia Recovery Center care deeply about each individual’s long-term success, and as someone walking alongside their graduates, I’m grateful for the foundation they help build.

New Visions genuinely saved my life. I went for 29 days in May of 2023, and left cause I thought I could it. I was high again 2 weeks later. They picked me up the second time I went and welcomed me back with open arms. I was at my lowest. Lost custody of my kids, my bf was cheating and hitting me. We were both addicts, with no way out. When I went back they assisted me in addressing every problem I had. The counselor I had was amazing, and she made sure I knew I was heard and mattered. I was there around 5 months which is longer than most, but it was exactly what I needed. I now have over 2 years sober from IV use of meth. I have my kids weekly with a job, my own place, and a vehicle. Without New Visions staff and support I can honestly say, I would still be alone, at my lowest. They provided for me in ways I couldn't provide for myself. ♥️

BAART programs has literally saved my life. I was in shambles prior to BAART no self respect, lost my family and their respect, did not have a home or decent vehicle my entire life was up in the air I had absolutely no direction. Needless to say after meeting the extremely professional staff with their respectful down to earth attitude they made me feel right at home. Counseling was and is amazing I love being able to speak to someone who understands my struggles. Through the program I was taught to hold my self accountable for my actions among many other well needed life lessons. BAART has been the beginning to my journey but most definitely not the end so I say THANK YOU BAART Porterville 🙏 you are one of the main reasons I am here today. Also please keep in mind BAART just like any other place is closed for most holidays on google It Will say for instance today is (Insert Holiday Name Here) and it may alter the hours that are posted. So if in doubt call ahead to make sure they are open. The staff is and will forever be there to HELP.

I am so thankful for the VA and especially the Tulare Clinic. We live in a country that takes care of it's veterans and, yes, there are some miscues, I've made a few myself, but I am still very thankful and the staff and doctors have given me the care I have needed. There are options, you can always go wait at a non-VA Dr. and wait there and pay for it out of your pocket. I've used my Tri-Care with some success but in the end I prefer my VA, both in Tulare and Fresno.

Excellent staff; RNs, MH staff, including Guards. I only had one bad experience with an RN during my 8 or so days, and perhaps she was just having a bad day. (Very understandable with some of the patients there, WOW!!) One of the other RNs liked to compare opinions on various shows on Netflixs and other films and tv shows we had seen, plus recommendations to each other, on the one rare day of her 3 day shift she had a little time to breathe. She also had never had an opportunity to talk to anyone who had experienced Electric Shock Therapy or some time back changed with Shock replaced by Convulsive. I understand perfectly why it is policy not to allow any mental health staff to meet, etc. with any former patients with MH issues. However, is it possible to meet in the safety of the hospital, at the discretion of the RN in this case of course. There are some very dangerous men there, some of which i met there. In fact, while I was there, a every loud female scream was heard throughout a large section of the hospital from a small room there. Obviously, a male patient did something very wrong to one of the female MH staff. Immediately, all the MH staff plus guards who heard the scream instantly dropped whatever they were doing and ran as fast as they could to her aid. Don't know any details, of course, but we patients in the area across from the activity sure we're surprised and curious about it. Also, locked in, perhaps. Anyway, the Bing map i was given befóre going to my new housing was very flawed.

I haven't gone here, but I would like to say that the intake specialist I spoke to when I called named Doug is an absolutely amazing man. He not only answered every question I had, but he also gave me sound advice and kind, supportive words that have really helped me in this process. Even after finding out that I would be attending a different facility, he has been there for me with support and help in any way he can and has kept up with me every day to see how things are progressing for me. Absolutely outstanding individual who clearly cares about people and is interested in their wellbeing and not just in getting them into the place he works for. Doug, you are a kind, caring, empathetic soul and have made a big impact on me and my journey through this process. Thank you for all that you do and will continue to do for people who need exactly the type of person you are on their side when they are arguably at their worst point in their lives.

I came to this clinic because of my pain from an accident that broke my back and caused me to need several surgeries in order to partially repair my lower spine. I still need surgery and my pain doctor I was going to retired without much notice (1 week) and I could not find any pain doctors that would keep me on the methadone (I don’t like the loopy feeling the other meds give you) they all wanted to put me on Vicodin which I was on for a few years and hated it because it made me sick and dizzy plus it was damaging my liver so I cannot take that anymore so my Dr put me on methadone because it lasts longer and you take less of it. My pain doctor told me to come to the clinic they treat for pain also not just addiction issues, and I am extremely happy I did because every single person at this clinic is amazing. The staff is caring and very helpful with any issues. I admit I did feel awkward at first going to this clinic because I was not a former drug addict and didn’t have addiction issues so I felt out of place but they made me feel comfortable and not judged. My counselor Roy has been phenomenal and helping me cope with my daily stress and the stresses that my life has brought to me he’s always there for me and always willing to talk to me no matter what and without him, for example today, I don’t know if I could’ve handled it if I hadn’t been able to talk to him today, he was there for me and calmed me down talked me through the issues and made me realize that I just need to relax and stop stressing about things that I cannot change and he is an amazing counselor and I could not ask for anything better. This place is also awesome if you need it for addiction issues, I’ve seen how they treat everybody and everybody is treated the same way with respect and dignity and they help everyone . Thank you Medmark team for everything. Y’all are the bomb!! Thanks so much! PS: Roy you are the man! Always know what to say to make me snap out of my anxiety’s and fears. I think west care is a very good place to start if u are struggling with addiction they assign u to a counselor as soon as u arrive and they have classes to teach u so that u may understand how to cope with it. Going into the program u have to surrender yourself to change, they have resources to help u get on your feet to be become a productive member of society. the biggest pluses was the food on occasions and being able to bring my daughter as it is open to mothers and children. The biggest minuses where no social passes so u are not allowed to go out of the facility unless u have an appt & also being in pending ( isolation) for the first 5 days from my understanding these changes occured due to covid so they are trying to keep us safe other then that it's probably one of the best facilities to come too 🤗
