About 10 Acre Ranch

10 Acre Ranch is a private substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment facility for adults located in Riverside, California. This is a pet friendly facility, as they realize that your pet can bring you comfort during your recovery process.

10 Acre Ranch is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the California State Department of Healthcare Services.

This facility offers the full continuum of treatment starting with detox, if needed. When you call to get started, an intake specialist will evaluate you to see if detox is needed before your treatment therapy begins. If so, you’ll be monitored by a medical doctor, nurse, and support staff. The length of time that you spend in the detox stage depends on the substance that you are detoxing from and the needs that you have.

After detox, you will begin recovery. During this stage, no medication is administered, as the center wants you to become more physically active and change your lifestyle to be conducive to that of a substance free life. Inpatient rehab can last between 30 days up to 90 or more days, depending on your needs and insurance.

They offer different styles of treatment and therapy, but they incorporate the 12 Steps model and a social model, believing that you and your peers can help each other through the recovery process. They believe that the spirituality of the 12 Step program helps you to open your heart and your mind to healing and better living.

This center claims to have enjoyed 96% success rate of clients who get sober and continue living a sober life for years to come.

I came in with no hope, no drive, and very little will to live. What I m leaving with cannot be described with just words, but to say the least I am amazed at my recovery and the hope inside of me instilled by the principles and by the people at Ten Acre Ranch. I have already recommended this program to friends of mine still struggling in their addiction. And to anyone with doubts about this program, I had them too, but with the upmost amazement they all went away slowly but surely. A special thank you to V, Valerie, Esther, Dan, Claudia, Joe, Chef Mike, Ryan, Michelle, Katarina, Mike and Yvonne. Also want to say a special thank you to Banchi who is the kindest most genuine soul I have ever met. You all have made a profound difference in my life and have made the last 30 days nothing but comfortable and wonderful. The bonds and memories made here at Ten Acre Ranch will say with me for the rest of my life. Thank you, so much for changing my life for the better. And I hope others come along to find their sobriety and theirselves here as well.

This will always be a memory I'll never forget . Struggling with addiction and understanding the mental health problems associated with my addiction has been my downfall for so long. 10 Acre Ranch was a perfect setting for me, my so called GF and dog to learn there is a better way of life. The Nurse on site was absolutely amazing and very informative. Her opinion was very much appreciated by the doctor helping him better understand my needs. All personal working there was again absolutely amazing. To me the food was a very important thing to my decision to stay or go! Let me tell you that it didn't matter what was on the menu , because no matter what Chef Mike makes you it's going to be a recipe in your new favorite recipe book! Quality hot fresh meals! 10 Acre Ranch saved my life James Mcd

Accepted Insurance

10 Acre Ranch works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I was just recently at this 10 acres ranch which is honestly about a quarter of an acre everything was going great as long as I took my meds and they kept me doped up I decided not to take my meds one morning because I heard something overnight a staff member tried to I guess push himself onto a recovering addict female there and they was trying to sweep it under the rug and I didn't like what was going on and I asked for my stuff took him 5 hours to give me my wallet another hour to give me my phone and it was wanting me to sign some accident deal that what they said that happened and I refuse to and I left and they left me outside their gate left me outside their gate told me they wouldn't give me a ride or even let me charge my phone and I'm from Oklahoma if you ask me some of the staff there was okay but the rest shittiest can be I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking to make the first step to getting their life back from addiction to start right here! I honestly consider the staff here my new family I would like to thank Yvonne, Esther, Dan, Banshi Nurse Michelle, Viannie Chef Mike, Nanyo and Alejandra. You guys changed my life. I literally came here broken with two plastic bags because my baggage never made it off the plane. They were more than accommodating. These people truly love helping people it was refreshing to be around staff that love what they do. I never felt overwhelmed, and I had a sense of freedom and time to address the problems that were actually effecting me. I wouldn't normally right a review this long but honestly I didn't even want to leave. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made thank you 10 Acre!

July 2023. I started a journey to stop using meth. That journey began at 10 Acre Ranch. I can report that, largely due to their program and, no less important, my implementation of the principles and tools they provided, I had a solid foundation and was clean from my drug of choice for just shy of 15 months. Then life happened. I was in a crisis situation caused by some underlying mental health conditions that were able to be clearly diagnosed because of my sobriety. Although I did not indulge in my drug of choice, I did end up in a situation that put my overall sobriety at risk. I needed stabilization and, if needed, a transfer to an appropriate facility. Even though that turned out to be [facility name], they took me in like family, helped me stay clean from my drug of choice, and helped me stay on this path of sobriety and self-discovery. In fact, when I had nowhere to go, no one to call, and the thoughts of giving up filled my head as my old survival skills tried to kick in, I texted (didn't even call!), and within 30 minutes I was in an Uber, on my way to a safe place.Do you need that safe place? Are you feeling like you need a break from your personal crisis? Do you feel like you don't have anywhere to go but "dead"? Stop talking to me and talk to them. No one else is going to care and become a partner like this. After this short stay here, I now know it's not just lip service. Yvonne, Michael, and Ricky truly care about all their clients and want to see them succeed. They will help you define what success means and will, even a year later, be there to make sure you win. At least that is what my experience has been. Call them.

10 acre ranch is my 3rd rehab and my favorite. The staff, nursing and therapists are great, I always felt heard and respect. The groups are entertaining and helpful. I stayed for the 30 days and the time flew by! There are outings every week like the beach, baseball games.. we even went to sea world :). The housing is very comfortable, felt like home quickly. The best part is they allow your dog to go through the recovery process by your side. Would recommend
