I will never forget when I stayed here when I was 9 and 10 years old. As soon as I got there my caseworker forced me to sign a contract saying I could be "disciplined" if I acted up too much where "disciplined" meant the staff at this location could sit on us and restrain us like wild animals. I saw it happen right in front of me to some boys and a few girls and I had to share a room with 3 other people. Anyways, my caseworker made me sign the paper and wouldn't let me read what it said. She told me it was because "nobody wanted me" so I had to go there and sign that paper. All that did was remind me how bad my life was and another thing about the place is that the girls are kept separate from boys, but the staff equally treat both genders of children like they're nothing. The staff members also had an illegal d*g deal with the pizza shop near the place so we got pizza and they were given d*gs by the staff who had it. The staff acted like nothing was happening and for the days I saw when girls turned 18 and moved out or was able to move out because their coworker was able to find them someone- it was only sad for us younger girls because we wanted them to take us with them. That's how bad the place was. We tried to do things like yoga nights and art nights and bingo nights but the staff always intruded with what we had as kids. And when we would go out in public it was basically a school field trip but they didn't care what we did and was only focused on us staying in their vicinity. One time when we were going to a playhouse, 2 teenagers male and female were sitting next to each other in the back seat of the van we were driven around in and they started doing *the deed* Mr. Reggie (a staff member) who was driving, was told by me and other kids about the incident in the back. That man immediately brake checked and the girl flew off of the boy in the back and everyone slid forward because the van didn't have seatbelts that worked! And there was also a time some kids got away from the home after hot wiring an older van that had been sitting in the parking lot. They got caught by the police and were returned but that didn't stop another group of kids hotwiring a golf cart a few weeks later! They didn't make it past the large PRISON-LIKE gate but that also still happened. Finally, I am going to tell the story of how I too, tried to escape because I felt hopeless in this wasteland of a home. So me and my friend at the time Tori who was 14/15 came up with a plan to leave with walkie talkies we got a hold of from security in the girls section of the place. I snuck into the security room while 2 staff members were asleep in there and I watched the cameras while guiding my friend on where to go to get over to the large gate at the front. She ended up having to cut through the woods to avoid cameras and she got cut up really bad but made it to the gate. Every time I'd give her a direction I'd have to creep out of the security room to my room across the hallway to not wake anyone up. Finally she got to the gate and waited. Then I made it out of the girl's section and locked the door behind me. I found a small path going through the woods (it's probably covered up by now) and I went through there and only got a few scratches. Then when my friend Tori saw me she started climbing the gate. I climbed with her and the hardest part was getting back down over the other side. I was so desperate at that time. The only light were the light posts outside. Then we ran down Whitaker road in the middle of the night until we saw sirens. I screamed for Tori to jump in a ditch with me so we wouldn't get in trouble but as I jumped and said it she didn't hear me and when she saw it last second the cops already had eyes on her. Long story short she was sent to the mental hospital and I made it back to the girls section through a window before I was caught. The police were just patrolling that night and we got unlucky. I'm currently 18 now and what happened to me in here stuck. Don't put kids here. I pray for the kids in here. I sincerely do.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

dollar-outline iconFinancing available

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

i was a foster child at this location. The day i walked into this madness was the last day i felt like myself. It feels like prison , routines we all have to follow, when we shower, when we eat, when we can SIT outside. we were trapped in this place all day. the girls were never a problem, it was the staff. they abuse, neglect, hit, put force onto the kids. This place needs to have a very powerful upbringing to keep running. people are going to start talking like I am. I won t let another child feel the way you made me feel.

Absolutely hell when I was there before I left to go with my adoption parents it felt like I was released from jail. There where some staff that cared and would take care of us but they did it for the money. Yes it's hard to take care of 30 kids. But make it a safe environment I was there 8 years ago maybe there was a change but it took 6 years to get over everything. I'm sorry for the kids there now.
