I was a little apprehensive at 1st, as Ive seen other psychiatrists and psycologists and generally they just ask you how you feel, nod, and throw another pill at you. However, i feel like My Dr. (Dr. Roerich) has taken the time to get to know me, get to know my life and not hsve to check his notes everytime i come in to remember who i am and whats going on in my life(except for maybe if we havent had an appointment for a long time.. Lol) My counselor (Peggy) is just AWESOME! She calls me out on my bs, she knows me and she knows the areas in my life i need help with. The staff and the nurses here are just as great, everyone genuinely seems to care about your well being and want to see us all do the best we can.. Thats why i feel like i have finally found a place that will help me get to where i want to be in life. That said, if you are having troubles or just need someone to talk to i highly reccomend Aurora Behavioral Health. They also deal with AODA issues, which is originally why i started here. Good luck!

I go to the clinic, have therapy through mathers as well as see Aleen Shah for medication management. Aleen is the best of the best and not only has compassion but has helped me in ways I never thought we're possible. Not to mention she has an amazing personality which is always a plus! Steve who is now a counselor in fox Lake clinic and came from Elgin is the best counselor I could ever ask for I find myself stopping in to chat and catch up even when life is good and i dont have a stop. They have made so many positive changes compared to when I saw them in the early 2000s and hope people see current reviews. They saved my life and can save yours too! And I'm slowly tapering down and it's at your pace but it's discussed which says a lot about the facility and not just being about cash flow.

They truly care about their patients and are trying to rebuild a place that has not had the best reputation over the years. I give them credit for their efforts and transparency.When I first brought my three boys there last year to see Dr. Mina Girbes I did not expect she would have me in tears in the hallway. She could tell I was overwhelmed and she pulled me aside to say, in essence, "I see you." That meant the world to me.At that time, the wait was long. But the care was what we needed. So we stuck with it.We've since returned two more times, once for a sick visit and once for a well check. The wait was much shorter. Staff were all friendly.Midlakes, we see you and we appreciate all you do for the community.
