They make it as difficult as possible to get treatment for pain management - I can no longer go for alternative treatment via community care and was told to go "pay out of pocket" if that treatment works for me. For a service-connected issue. And they have suggested just taking Tylenol a week after major surgery. About half the time, they make it seem as though you are a burden and inconvenience for seeking care and treatment. Just sad.There are some good nurses and doctors here (it's really hit or miss), but for the most part, expect condescending, dismissive comments and behavior from doctors, nurses and "residents". You will be a guinea pig and a case study, not a human, if you seek treatment here. The quality of care is a 3 at best and the attitudes of staff reflect that - no consequences for poor performance, no accountability. If you submit issues to be resolved, they will likely be ignored for weeks and your care will suffer further as a result. I was told by one nurse when inquiring about a service, "Well, you'll just have to do what the rest of us would do".Questions and concerns have gone unanswered because they know they face no consequences for questionable actions. I've called to have appointments rescheduled, only to have someone call days later and falsely accuse me of hanging on them when they supposedly called back the same day to schedule a new appointment. My phone log shows otherwise and it's absolutely disgusting to make up outright lies to avoid doing your job. They love to constantly send letters saying they've been trying to reach you to schedule appointments, but have been unable, yet there are no missed calls in your phone. Disgraceful and disappointing to say the least.

Plain & simple.There's always gonna be downfalls to every solution - you're never gonna get a perfect remedy...however, the downfalls are worth the outcome. Anything is better than living as a slave to opiates. Addiction doesn't discriminate...it'll get anyone of any age, race, background, etc. Demographics don't matter. So don't judge those who are seeking treatment. Be happy they're getting help. Also, don't assume everyone that attends these clinics are low-life criminals. We have all walks of Life come here for treatment. Nurses, veterans, business men/women, & even grandfathers/grandmothers. People you wouldn't think would be in this situation. We even have patients who were on pain meds for cancer & other severe medical conditions prescribed by their doctor -- only to be left in the dust with a physical addiction to those medications. Addiction isn't always mental or psychological. If you're battling addiction yourself & have failed other typical treatments - Medication Assisted Treatment may be the answer. I do believe it should be used only after failing the other traditional methods.

I have been mainly very pleased with the help and support provided by Innovative Counseling.My son saw Dr. Dan Rauens and he was super helpful for my son with Autism, ADHD, and anxiety. I'd actually say that he was instrumental in the beginning of my son getting stabilized. He is compassionate and thoughtful and good with my son.I have seen Dr. Becky, and was very pleased with her. She helped me to get some clarity and help for myself to process through some trauma during a very stressful period of my life.Mike and the Autism team (Erin, Mindy, & Kelsey specifically) have helped my son to stabilize, grow, process, think, and communicate better. I say EVERYONE needs a "Mike" in their corner. He is able to understand my frustrations and then translate those into actionable, broken-down, steps for us to take with my son. He has been an encouragement to us when we felt like giving up, and I don't know where we'd be without his help, wisdom, and support. He genuinely cares and is an excellent role model for my son as well. I cannot recommend him highly enough.Lastly, we've worked with Glenda for psychiatric services. She's been overall very good to work with. I'm guessing that she has A LOT of patients, though, as she often appears to forget things that I'd expect her to remember. Her suggestions as far as medications go have been EXCELLENT. And when combined with Autism therapy and counseling - have contributed to my son being the most stable he's been in his 11 years of life.I cannot recommend Innovative Counseling highly enough - they have helped to save my family and sanity.

We have adopted four children, all with special needs. Our current home study expires on May 20. Our current agency does not want to renew our study. They feel we are too old (in our 50's) and have enough children. We are saddened by the fact that we only need a renewal to add another child to our family.Are you familiar with any agencies that would renew our study for us? Help with finalization and AA?
