They misdiagnosed me based on the statement by a nurse at Floyd ER. I explained the misunderstanding and the doctor later apologized for the "mix-up and confusion." But that doesn't make up for the 3 days I was treated based on a misdiagnosis. Also the staff nurses were rude and could not be bothered with questions.. they showed zero empathy when I told them I needed to leave to go be with my best friend who has cancer. The techs were great though. Tbh, they are the only ones who helped me.

I recently had the privilege of spending a week at Willowbrooke Mental Institute, and I must say it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me, thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and a serene atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The therapy sessions were led by experienced professionals who were knowledgeable and empathetic, and the group sessions were engaging and thought-provoking. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt supported and included, and I left feeling like I was part of a true community rather than just a patient. Overall, my experience at Willowbrooke was nothing short of exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a compassionate and effective approach to mental health treatment.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Willowbrooke offers a complete range of outpatient services. Their professional staff of dedicated clinicians has a wide variety of expertise and experience working with people who need behavioral health assistance.
inpatient iconInpatient
If an assessment or screening finds severe problems, a brief stay in the hospital may be advised. Willowbrooke at Tanner’s inpatient facility offers a safe, comfortable place for healing to begin. It features: private courtyards for rest and reflection, an indoor gymnasium for exercise and therapeutic activities, indoor and outdoor dining. A hospital stay helps patients change their behavior and acquire skills to cope with everyday stresses, enabling them to move to a less-intensive setting to continue treatment.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Designed for individuals who don't require round-the-clock care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a form of outpatient care with a higher level of support. PHP treatment can be an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option. With daily sessions lasting 6 to 8 hours, up to 5 days a week, a partial hospitalization program may offer medication management, relapse prevention techniques, and behavioral therapy interventions. PHP treatment can be fully or partially covered by insurance.
aftercare iconAftercare
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step recovery programs focus on personal growth to address the emotional and psychological factors contributing to their addiction. 12 step recovery is rooted in spiritual development, but religious affiliation isn't required. Regular group meetings and individualized support with the help of self-selected sponsors promote participants' sobriety as they work through the 12 steps, gaining insight into their addiction, taking responsibility for their life choices, and releasing control over that which is uncontrollable.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

The skills you learn in couples therapy are designed to help you successfully address relationship challenges as they arise. These skills can include anger management, conflict resolution, communication, and problem solving.

Many life skills involve coping with emotions and stress. Others involve completing tasks that allow you to live independently. Examples include finding a job, managing finances, and nutrition. During rehab in Georgia, you'll work on any skills that are lacking to ensure you have the tools for success post treatment.

First of all they told me the. Dr I was going to see was in my network and I was going to cancel when my insurance said no but they promised ME he was and the same day of my appointment my insurance denied the claim. Second the doctor said something about a law I will not get into but I guess he didn't read the lastest from the dea . That was the second lie. All I can say is that bill better get corrected quick. I am not paying it and I realized when the girl pulled my account up it wasn't the right plan . I am very pissed but I have a third option I hope still . I was cut off and ran out. .I will not be seeing them again

They did finally get me my refills I desperately needed and worked with me to make an appointment. So I'm changing to 3 stars. I'm still disappointed that I wasn't notified of my provider leaving the company.

I live in Adairsville, GA. I wasted a trip there. As soon as I got there for my assessment for new services, I got the most weird feeling, like this place isn't right. Not to mention I couldn't wait till July to see the counselor for my meds. Now I know not to go here, per reading the reviews.

Been my provider for 5+ years and one visit with Dr McCall that all changed in a matter of a hour. Yes I answered every little detail for over a hour until I couldn t take it anymore. Needless to say I left in worse condition than I walked in. Sobbing by the end I finally spoke up and requested if I could leave that visit. She wasn t getting history she prodded every traumatic event from a small child to want to know my age, my relationship, year difference, if penetration, questioning my child decision to not tell and why I have no relationship with my abuser. I told her I have a therapist and the tiny details of my past traumatic experiences is irrelevant. I understand getting a history but the details left me feeling defeated, ashamed, rehurt, and responsible for the things that happened to me. When I asked to end the visit because I was visibly upset and nearing a panic attack she was concerned about getting her assessment done. I gathered my things and she asked why I wanted to leave well for a few she was abrasive, uncompationate, judgmental, aggressive and condescending. I politely told her I was done I personally could not handle no more emotional damage. She threatened me with not sending my medication if I did not stay but at that point I was unconcerned about medication I was more alarmed by my mental state she pushed to much for details that should not matter how she treated me professionally. I was gladly to leave her presence and certainly not interested in having her as a provider. Never been treated as I was less than for my condition or diagnosis. I hope this saves someone from having a experience like I did.

IOP program was a mess. The doctors seem to not understand how medication works. Swapping one for another in the period of a week is not an acceptable route in treatment, it is unrealistic at best and dangerous at worst. The therapists do their best. But it is the doctors in charge of the medication and they fall short.I could add a few more complaints but they would come across as petty so I will refrain. Everyone s experience is different. It took driving to Atlanta to get the care I needed to get better. I know sometimes people don t have the option of choosing where they go. But if at all possible, even if the cost is more, YOUR health is worth investing in.I would avoid. For what you pay here, the care should not be such that it is.

This place, along with FLOYD Hospital was the worst experience I have ever had. I went in with anxiety and I came out feeling worse than I did before. The people that work at this facility (Atrium for this review), treat patients HORRIBLY. They are beyond disrespectful, they have no reason what so ever to be in the healthcare industry. It was truly sad. This facility needs to go through and check these employees because 65% of them I m sure need to be gone. You are treated as a prisoner. Like you re worthless, which is a huge reason why people enter these places VOLUNTARILY. I witnessed multiple instances in just one day that these CNA s treated patients like they were the biggest bother. This girl checked herself voluntarily to help herself and have a better life, her words, and guess what? She yelled four times for help, the AWFUL CNA (working on 01/09 older lady glasses grey roots) said she would tell a nurse four times she d get her. She never did. The girl tried to walk down the hall to get help and she collapsed and I witnessed this CNA say well I guess you shouldn t be walking then when all she needed was help. Isn t this supposed to be a place to go for help? Not more emotional hurt? The day shift is absolutely terrible, the night shift they are so polite and kind. They treat you as human beings not worthless / prisoners. I don t believe in the mental health system anymore, because even if it s $12 an hour for some reason some heartless people do jobs they should not. If you are not a friendly kind person, I just personally do not believe you should be in the industry. Neil and John on day shift (01/10/2024) are INCREDIBLE. They deserve a raise, they bring light to that dreadful place. And I was only there for 2 nights, imagine what these people experience daily. There is so much more but I m hoping there will be an investigation into their employees.
