I d like to know who has taken over answering phones in the last few months. I have never had any issues with this office until this point. At first when I had called a few months back to schedule an appointment, I thought I had called the wrong number! Someone with a very quiet voice had answered, only stating their name and nothing else so I hung up. I double checked that I was calling the right number and called back. Same person. Okay I guess there s a new receptionist. Please PLEASE find someone new, or retrain the current person. They are impossible to hear, they have made scheduling mistakes multiple times with me and I dread calling this office now to make an appointment. I m autistic and phone calls are hard enough without someone asking me to repeat information that I have already said and spelled out numerous times. I just got off the phone with them asking where my RX is, because my doctor said he sent it over two days ago. This is an RX I cannot skip without going into withdrawal. Yet I have had to go through withdrawals EVERY SINGLE MONTH since April because it doesn t get sent. I just got off the phone with this receptionist, telling him that I need my RX, my doc said he sent it - he asked me if I needed to make a new appointment with him, I said no, but I need to make one with a new doc in the same building because my current doc is leaving this month he says oh okay! And hangs up. I said I needed to make an appointment and you hang up? Isn t there anyone else who can take the phones that actually knows what they re doing? This place has been great in the past. But these last few months has made me want to go ballistic because of the incompetence of the receptionist. It s hard enough having to call and have this guy answer, I shouldn t have to call back when he could have taken care of everything right there. Please do something about this. It s taking a huge toll on my mental health.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Oregon offers a full continuum of care for those struggling with addiction. From detox, to inpatient, to outpatient, to aftercare, Oregon residents can find the support they need for recovery. This treatment empowers individuals to replace drug use with positive alternatives and develop a healthier lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I am extremely disappointed with how I have been treated by your staff and therapists and nurses and doctors.I moved here from NYC where I guess things were a little different.I spent a good 6 months trying to get an appointment with a prescribing psysician, and when I finally do he threatens me, asks me what I m going to do when he refuses to give me the medicine I have been on for 8+ years. Then it becomes a game to him. I m not sure what information the therapists pass around in my chart but everyone I have dealt with there treats me like a drug addict.Yes, I am on a Benzodiazepine but when has that ever been the end of the world? So I tell the nurse practioner Christopher Thoen that my general practitioner has been filling my prescriptions while slowly lowering my dosage.Christopher Thoen does not care. He tells me to go detox myself. Go to the hospital because UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL HE PRESCRIBE ME LORAZEPAM.So I ask him why that is, if another nurse or doctor might. And he tells me maybe they will but he doesn t like me so he says that my attitude makes him not want to help me, and that he won t refer me to another doctor either. So Christopher Thoen tells me that he doesn t want to work with me. And I remove myself from the room.So I wonder now if this is all part of the plan, are the therapists there to dissuade you from wanting help? Because I mentioned on my first visit I was looking for someone to fill prescriptions I have been all but blacklisted, with the non-help of therapist Andrew Kreiselmaier and the first therapist, a woman who refused to see me after my first visit.I just wonder if this isn t some kind of method to weed out the difficult patients because your staff seems COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT when it comes to people with anger and serious emotional problems. Are you a mental health facility or not because there is a serious lack of professionalism all across the board.I will not be back and this has prompted me to re-evaluate my life and I think mental health doctors in Oregon have a lot to learn and I will not be receiving any treatment for my problems so thank you very much. You won

Absolutely horrible, they are awful. Never read the medical history, had me on anti depressants when it clearly states in my medical file that I cannot take that. My dad died last year and the annoying intern said to me how does that make you feel? Seriously...so due to prescribing me medicine that I was never supposed to be taking, again stated in medical file, I became agoraphobic which is completely out of character for me and three therapist would not work with me when I could not leave my house. Also. when I requested someone other than an intern due to lack of experience they gave me the complete runaround for more than 4 months. I lost more of a year of my life. I demanded to be taken off ant-depressants which I never should have been on and now the agoraphobia is gone.

30 minutes of waiting (I have anxiety) only to be told my therapist was "stuck in traffic". Way to validate my feelings of worth. Won't be going back.
