About Western Pacific Med Corp

Western Pacific Med Corp is an opioid addiction treatment center in Van Nuys, California. They treat alcohol addiction, too, but they mostly specialize in treating opioid use disorder. That’s because they offer medication assisted treatment using medications like methadone and buprenorphine that reduce your cravings for opioids and minimize opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Medication helps with the physical aspects of addiction, but substance use disorder has a mental addiction too. So to treat this component of addiction you’ll also have individual counseling and group counseling. You’ll have addiction education as well and will develop coping skills and relapse prevention skills so you can maintain your recovery long term.

There are some extra services here too that make this clinic stand out to me. First, they have treatment available for pregnant clients in a specialized way that is safe for your pregnancy while helping you create a healthier life for your family. They also have guest dosing services too if you’re in another MAT program and visiting the Van Nuys area. Finally, they have discharge planning and will link you with other community resources that can help you get on your feet.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I've been coming here with a dear friend for support to help him kick heroine to the curb. We come almost 7days a week. I see these beautiful people trying to put their lives back together. Some or most are homeless because of their addiction. They lost everything except their will and hope to have a better life and a chance to become what they should of been years ago. It's just a shame when you have employees working at such an establishment with no compassion or empathy for their patients struggle. Miss Sheldon, the colored lady with tarp on her head should work for the DWP because she has no compassion or empathy for these patients. She is All about the pay, clocking out before the business is closed and turning away patients 1 min before closing or on the dot of the hour, knowing this person will become sick and be physically in pain, from the withdrawal. I'm disgusted SHELDON could turn anyone away but she doesn't care. She has a car and a comfortable place to go to because of our tax paying money spent on this clinic that is to help those in NEED.HELLO? SHELDON? DID YOU FORGET WHY YOU HAVE A JOB? LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET TURNED AWAY. KARMA . JUST WAIT.

I forgot to mention I have been to Van Nuts and Panorama City, the very morning of the 1994 earthquake they managed to get it up and running! Only 5 miles from the epicenter in Northridge! So many many KUDOS go to Western Pacific for that one!!have also been a client at WPFMC or what they call the Fullerton Clinic. They have to follow strict laws and the state watches them all the time. Even if they want to put you on more or sooner they can't, so go back to your connection until then if you must. They do want to help everyone who asks for it, just be patient. I have to review 2 or 3 more locations, that's how long I have been going to WP medical. I only considered switching to Aegis because it's better if your job makes you travel, you can show up with ID card at any location in California and get dosed. WP needs to get up to date on that one thing only, I can guest dose at one clinic away from my home clinic, read my review for Ventura. And Medi-Cal still covers it. I wonder if California is the only state, New Mexico and Minnesota I had to Private pay even with Medicaid benefits. Does anyone have experience in this area?

The guy who answers the phone was rude and very unhelpful and lied about information that i know is not true. When people try to get clean and sober you make it harder! How are you going to turn away a person who needs help? If you Dont like your job get another one and all your information is your wrong! How can you only do a detox twice a year? Dont go to this clinic they don't help!!!!
