I don't often leave reviews, however, when I read something that I know to be untrue, unfair and unbelievable, I feel as I must correct it...to be a good human and all. Which some of us know NOTHING ABOUT. I have been attending this clinic for nearly two years as I am an addict in recovery. Collectively and individually they have saved me from myself, which in active addiction, as we all know, we are our own worst enemies. I would be deceased in a ditch somewhere otherwise and that's not overshooting it. The kindness and compassion and honesty that I have received from Jessica H. who somehow always will carve out time for me to direct me towards where I need to go when I've lost my way, has been immeasurable. She and dearest Shelly hold a special place in my heart. Shelly I don't think knows exactly how much she means to me, her words of constant wisdom and support, she makes sense out of everything, regardless of what the problem is, she ALWAYS has the solution. Maybe it will be a hard road because I have fallen flat on my bum several times, she doesn't cushion my mistakes with false hope, she tells it like it is and what I need to do to change it. I have never been more blessed to have these two women in my life, so when I read despicable lies about them and others I have interacted with at the clinic, well, after being thoroughly disgusted, I knew I needed to write my own. Shame on you that anyone would use a smear campaign and try to dox people by placing their last names in public within your unhinged rants. Bitterness is poison and anyone that would write that is drowning in it. I didn't do well on my own obviously and I was directed to a place, surrounded by strong, compassionate women, that has made it their life's work to mentor to those of us willing to accept it and show some f'ing gratitude in return for helping save lives, my own. From dear Hyne (apologize for the spelling you sweet girl) that greets all of us with a smile and a kind word as she seems to be in a dozen places at once handling business. When my mother was dying from pancreatic cancer and I was staying with her at UHC, daily dosing, this lady, every day, brought packets of a delicious cappuccino that I could make in her hospital room. She is a blessing to all of us! Tish and Deb who are always right there to lend a shoulder or a kick in the bum depending on what choices you are making, love them! Sharon, the sweetest soul that has care and concern for each of us. Dr Bailey, whom looked me directly in the eye and said the words as an addict most of us do not get to hear I BELIEVE YOU, in a situation where I didn't think anyone would. I miss Dr Brennan of course, during the time I was losing both of my parents, his door was ALWAYS OPEN to provide comfort and hope, no one person should be compared to another, I like and appreciate Dr Bailey on his own. Miss Emily runs a tight ship fall in line or don't but she is there every day to show up for us and last but by no means the least, the SUPER GLUE, Tammy and Jen who face me every day as I'm daily dosing because I fell flat on my bum, these two ladies work so efficiently and so organized that they make a tsunami look like a sprinkle of rain. Respect them, because they deserve is so. Shannon, don't think I would ever forget about you, Always returns my calls, always makes me laugh and always has the best feedback for me. If you haven't attended one of her groups, do so! In closing, I am surrounded by strong, independent, amazing, caring women and men there at the clinic so I take great offense when I read such slander targeting Shelly and Jessica and everyone that shows up for me and for you EVERY DAY. The very worst thing you can do to an addict is lie to them and tell them they are doing well when they are not, I want the truth. There is no grand conspiracy to see any of us fail, somehow they all work together to invest in our success but you that wrote these nasty untrue reviews targeting Shelly, Jessica and the clinic as a whole? Sadly you missed the miracle. Lisa C.

worst clinic i have ever went to i wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to come here. they would constantly do stuff to me(threatening me with my dose to throw me out on 200 mg if i didn't like it. they would use the excuse that the methadone comes up but not the metabolites in my screens to take my take homes from me. then give them back after a week and then take my take homes again using the same excuse.even thought he truth was they were just doing it because shelly and jessica heflin didn't like me and my wife.don't bother going to emmy over the things they are doing to you. because she will just allow them to do even more&stick up for them with acadia&the dea when you call complaint lines on them. it took my wife 9 months just to get 2 take homes after she went to jail for protecting her kids from 5 methheads trying to break into our house and she got charged for malicious assault/jessica heflin tells her she had to waite 6 months just for 1 takehome then 3 months for each takehome after that with 13 years of clean drug screens and never missing a group or counseling.telling her she had to do 8 groups and counselings a month for the first 6 months/even though i know tons of people out at that clinic who have been arrested recently&they all still have their take homes.or only had to wait 30 days for their first takehome.even medmark in morgantown after an arrest you only have to wait 30 days for 1 takehome.but they wanted to blame the dea for that rule if that was the case then it would be done to everyone at all the clinics in the state of wv requiring the same rule and they would do an nci search on everyone.not just doing it to my wife because they dont like us and can do whatever they want to in authority positions.&when you try to leave this clinic to go to another clinic to get away from them&all the problems they cause they make sure they call the other clinic while your in taking/transferring&bad mouth you&try to get the other clinic to not transfer you&trying to make you look so bad making up all kinds of lies hoping they you get banned from the new clinic.my wife would come home everyday from dosing balling her eyes out from the things they were saying&doing to her.they go around bullying you/gossiping/getting you to breakdown for entertainment for the day/using your behavior when you get upset or stand up for yourself/using ekg's/bloodwork removing them out of your chart then making you do them again/ refusing to get them from wvmychart acting like you are threatening them in their office making you leave so you have to go to hospital and do all of the same stuff again ekg/bloodwork eventhough you just did it a few months ago/using medical reasons/to do stuff to you with your takehomes after they cant get you to relapse/you pass all your drug screens/you do all your groups and counselings/pass your bottle checks/they threaten you with your dose to throw you out when you get upset. they are bullys. these employees are horrible.after dr.brennan left this place is utter hell to be at.im so glad me and my wife got out of here.

For as long as I can remember, I've been trapped in a never-ending cycle of addiction. From the medications prescribed to me as a child, to the prescription opiates I graduated to , I've spent my entire life battling demons that I couldn't escape. And even when I finally found myself on Suboxone, a medication meant to save me from the grip of opioids, I realized that I had simply traded one addiction for another. As the months turned into years, I watched in horror as I lost myself piece by piece. My family, who had always been my rock, began to see the mask that I wore to hide the truth of my struggles. They saw the facade crumbling, and they knew that they were losing me. But even though I was still functioning still working, still taking care of my responsibilities I couldn't shake the feeling of hopelessness that had taken over my life. When my family finally confronted me about my addiction, they suggested that I go to a traditional rehab like some of our relatives had done for their struggles with alcohol. But the idea of locking myself away in a facility for months, cut off from the world and forced to endure a brutal detox, was more than I could bear. I had tried a rapid taper from Suboxone before, and the experience had been hellish. The physical withdrawals had been agonizing, and the mental and emotional toll had lingered for months to up to a full year . I knew that I couldn't put myself through that again. From a young age, I had always been drawn to non-traditional approaches to healing. I had a deep distrust of Western medicine and its tendency to mask symptoms rather than address the root causes of illness. And as I struggled with my addiction, this feeling only intensified. I knew that I couldn't continue down the path of taking pill after pill, never really getting better. But I didn't know what other options were available to me.That's when I remembered a documentary that I had seen about ibogaine, a powerful plant medicine that had been used for centuries in rituals in Africa. I had been fascinated by the stories of people who had used ibogaine to overcome addiction, and I couldn't help but feel a spark of hope. But as I began to research, I realized that ibogaine was illegal in the US, and that seeking treatment would mean traveling to a foreign country.Despite my fears, I knew that I had to explore this option. I couldn't continue down the path that I was on, and I was desperate for a way out. So when my family asked me what I wanted to do, I told them about ibogaine. To my surprise, they were open to the idea. They began researching clinics in Mexico, and they quickly stumbled upon the POI Institute. As soon as they spoke with Diane, the founder of the clinic, they knew that they had found the right place. Diane's kindness and compassion came through clearly over the phone, and my family could tell that she was someone who truly cared about helping people heal. They were impressed by the clinic's small size and focus on individualized care, and they felt confident that I would be in good hands. As soon as I arrived at the clinic, however, my fears began to melt away. The facility was beautiful, with lush gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. They even had a resident pup named Poppy and a cat named Reese. And from the moment that I met Diane and her husband George, I knew that I was in the right place. They greeted me with warm smiles, open arms, and they made me feel like I was family. My nurse Chuy, monitored my health as I began the process of tapering off subs. He was kind, non-judgmental , and quite the chef. When I finally emerged from the ibogaine experience, I was shocked by how clear and focused I felt. I had no cravings, and I felt no withdrawal symptoms. It was as if the medicine had reset my brain and body, giving me a fresh start. I am finally living the life that I deserve. And it's all thanks to the power of ibogaine, and the incredible team at the POI Institute.Love Amber A
