alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Only counseling session I have ever had, where the counselor talked the whole time.Only reason I m even giving a star is because they got my spouses meds where they needed to be through the hospital. Our counselor there was not healed from their divorce, and pushed me towards divorce instead of working through it with us and helping us reconcile.I DO NOT and will NOT recommend this practice.

WARNING: DO NOT TRY IF YOU NEED HELP SOONER THAN LATER.I went to them seeking help with my mental health. They got back to us relatively quickly at 1st and I filled out their questionnaire and was just waiting for an appointment. Since then I have called and left multiple messages and never heard back from them.It is extremely hard as it is to reach out and ask for help, So imagine my surprise when a company that is supposedly dedicated to mental health and well being shows how little they actually care.

Beware of this group. If your counselor leaves their practice, they leave you high and dry without any response.I was a patient with their practice for 6 1/2 years. My counselor decided to leave and advised that there might not be anyone for myself, my husband and our daughter to see. She said that we would receive formal notification from the office regarding our status. We received NOTHING from the company. No thank you for being a long time patient, no recommendations for possibly other counseling services that might be available or no notice that we would be put on a wait list. I would think that after that long of a time with them, I would get SOMETHING from them. In this day and age when counseling can be so important for one's mental health, I feel this company only cares about the bottom line, MONEY!!!! The say that they are a Christian counseling service, but I do believe that Jesus says to treat your neighbor as you would want to be treated. This situation was far from that. Again, beware of this company. If you want to be treated terribly, then they are for you.

I went to Wellspring looking for help with my relationship with my daughter. The therapist threw me out of the room for the entire appointment. I was going through a painful divorce after 17 years of marriage, but my daughter was crying because of her breakup with her boyfriend two months prior. Neither had anything to do with our relationship. My daughter's ex was agoraphobic and I completely supported her in her decision to leave him. I understood that she still cared about him. The end of my marriage was inconsequential. I understand. But it would have been nice to be able to at least address the issues with our relationship. No one spoke to me. My feelings did not matter. I paid the bill and left. After this experience, my daughter became estranged and has not spoken to me for three years. I was not invited to the wedding and cannot see my new granddaughter. Thanks again Wellspring.

I have been going here for a little over 2 years for individual counseling. My daughter is seen for individual counseling and my husband and I are seen for couples counseling. I ve been other places and this is by far the best. Everyone is very understanding and helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lynda Barron for over a decade. She came highly recommended to me by one of the most well respected psychiatrists in Gainesville. In the past, I had a traumatic experience with a female therapist, but Dr. Barron and I discussed this prior to my first appointment and I decided to give her a chance. It is one of the best decisions I ever made.Finding someone effective in Cognitive Behavioral Techniques with such an illustrious work history who now uses all of these resources to help others in private practice is a rarity - especially outside of the city! She is both kind and patient, while bringing so much insight using case studies and current medical research that cognitive behavioral therapy is no longer the harsh therapy that it once was. Please do not misunderstand, she is still extremely effective and gets the job done. She not only taught me how to save my relationship with my family, but she also taught me how to save myself. She continues to help me effectively manage my stress and anxiety, allowing me to lead a successful and fulfilling life. I truly owe her everything.Thank you, Ashley A. Harris, MBA
