About Volunteers of America Northern Rockies – Booth Hall

Located in Gillette, Wyoming, Volunteers of America Northern Rockies - Booth Hall is a reentry program for adults who have been incarcerated. The facility can house up to 144 men and women, broken down to 128 men and 16 women, at any given time.

Absolutely horrible facility. 99% of staff don't even do their jobs, do as they please, no communication, don't even know what they are doing or how to do their job. The staff there are constantly changing people's schedules without communication. The case manager just ignores "communications" Nor do they even help their residents with what the VOA claims to offer. This location needs to be shut down.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The safest way to rid your body of addictive drugs and/or alcohol is a medically assisted detox, which is typically held in an inpatient setting while under 24/7 medical supervision. Abruptly quitting alcohol and certain drugs (like benzodiazepines or opioids) can cause dangerous side effects, so a team of medical professionals is tasked with keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible throughout the process. After your body is detoxed of all alcohol and drugs, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment or maintenance program for the next stage of your recovery.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The programs offered at drug rehab in Wyoming address the underlying issues of addiction, with the goal being to get to the root of the problem. By learning to manage issues without substance use, you are empowered to live a healthy, drug-free life.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

They set they residents up for success. Simple rules, some just don't follow them. You get what you put into it. It's much better than the alternative, hands down. Great leadership.

I would give this place zero stars, if it would let me. Don't go here if you really need help. They did get me a 100.00 give card. But, then they changed me 30.00 for services. No one told me that there was a fee attached. They asked me if it was a hardship case. I said that it was , but as usual no one cares. I meant gift card. If I knew getting a gift card was going to cost me. I would havebacked out of any of their services. I could have took the 30.00 that I paid them, and bought my own groceries. Nothing is said up front. I felt like they really took advantage of an older person, that was already in a bad situation. If I wasn't in need if help I never would have asked them.

This place is a joke. My family member has been there 3 months and they won't let him get a job. They won't even approve a furlough to see his 90 year old mother. I've been fighting this place for months now. Honestly think he was better off in prison.

The staff are extremely neglectful of their duties and tasks throughout the day. My significant other was housed here for awhile an multiple times the staff failed to log him coming to and from a location. On multiple occasions he would call one staff member an verbalize his whereabouts an would receive a call 30 minutes to 2hours later asking where he was or calling his job. Staff fail to communicate to each other an seem to thrive off making residents anxious and embarrassing residents in their professional field. From my knowledge there has been multiple PREA Violations over the past few months. Extremely disheartening as some of these men an women have completely changed their lives around and aren t being given the correct environment to thrive. 2 thumbs down.

This place is the Worst thing you could do to a human being. Staff in inexperienced, very disrespectful and they will set you up to fail. They do not Stand by their Mission Statement, which is to Assist a human being coming out of incarceration to be able to make it on the streets, but it's all a lie. They will play people against each other .
