My husband (31y adult, for context of later in the text) and I had an Intake appt with Kayla, to further discuss an autism diagnosis for my husband, as he's been journeying towards this for several years now. During intake Kayla asked general back history questions about symptoms and expressions of experience that have led him to consider this as a diagnosis for himself. They talked about trauma history, family history including health, communication strengths and weaknesses, and anything that felt prevalent for him to take note of. After the hour long appt, Kayla explained to us that the next step is for her to meet with a Psychologist from the facility and discuss the information in order for the psych to decide how to further continue this medical assistance. We were informed that my husband would need to take several tests including the RAADS, MMPI, IQ, and others - during the next steps forward. He also has the opportunity to meet with a school psychologist for further testing and diagnosis support. This test is called the ADOS in short: the"Autism diagnostic observation schedule" test. However reassuring the next steps seem, there is a long wait to be aware of. We were given time frames of 1 month for the initial psych and 6 months for the school psych. We are thankful for the information and how it was gathered and presented in a patient led dynamic focused on creating a safe space for searching further into oneself.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Vista is a scam. I went a few years ago for ADHD testing. In my initial appointment, I was told by the counselor that I would get a report displaying my results mailed to my home address and sent to my primary therapist who I saw at a separate office. I paid my testing in full. Through the next couple of months, my therapist s office waited on the report that contained the results of my testing. Eventually, I called Vista myself, and was told that the Vista counselor was behind on reviewing the reports and that they would mail it out soon. Last I heard, my primary therapist s office never received my report or diagnosis from Vista.Several months after testing I too still had not received my results, so I stopped in one day to see if I could pick it up. They said they would mail it to my house. I soon got the report, however, I also received a bill for nearly $300. Stunned, I called the office ready to find the cause of the bill, and I was told that this was the charge for the report. Mind you, I was told all throughout the testing process that this report was included with the testing process. It s not an in-depth report- it s a 4 page Microsoft word document of my results from my testing- which I had already paid for months prior.I deeply regret going to this place- the testing took 4 months and was laughably simple, and in the end, nothing came of it anyway because they never released my report to my therapist s office. An absolutely useless process, and charged just under $300 for a word essay to boot.

Jenna Humphries is a phenomenal clinician and has an innate ability to connect with her clients. A blend of compassion, humility, and clinical expertise in the areas of trauma and somatic therapies, Jenna is highly effective in her ability to support her clients through difficult moments. Having experienced her presence as warm and inviting, it is easy to see how seamlessly she can work with children and families during their darkest moments. I highly recommend Jenna!

Do not go here if you actually want help with your mental health, its mind blowing the amount of problems n lack of accountability ive had with this place. ive had an appointment where i was never told to come on early for paperwork then they blamed me for it and i had even double checked my apt time that same week and was still not told to come in early then told i may not even be seen and this was the type of appointment that takes months to get in for. im having issues with my insurance so they decided to tell me 30 mins prior to my appointment (which was to go over my diagnosis results, fill & adjust my meds) that i can no longer be seen until i make a payment or get it sent through insurance. my insurance kept denying (issues with primary & secondary) it so i wasnt gonna make a payment until they process it and tried guilt tripping me by saying my psychiatrist would have to pay that bill, no she wouldn t at all. i had to quit my prazosin cold turkey for two weeks bcus she refused to fill any of my meds resulting in my mental health declining very much and never told me about the symptoms when you stop taking it. it wasnt until i finally after two weeks got them filled through my primary doctor the pharmacist told me about the side affects and how i should never stop cold turkey (not that i had a choice). same thing the week of i doubled checked my appointment and they said nothing about my bill until 30 mins prior of my apt that they canceled. ive been trying to figure this all out for a month now, they have absolutely no empathy when situations arise and just blame u or the insurance for it vs trying to actually help you. i still have not been able to get my meds filled, adjusted or to actually go over my diagnosis results with my psychiatrist vs the testing doctor.UPDATE: they charged my card $120 without any authorization or heads up when i havent even been able to be seen for over a month or gets my meds filled and i was literally on the phone w a lady earlier that day going over my insurance crap and still no mention of this charge. i was late paying my rent because of this.DO NOT GO HERE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY.

Went for testing to find a proper diagnosis and every time I call for my results they need another few months. My testing was in Dec of 2022 and it is now the end of Sept of 2023 and still do not have my results. I have already paid the bill so that is not the problem. I do not recommend Dr. Jason or Vista. What a waste of time, money, and energy!! The amount of unprofessionalism and lack of care here is astonishing!!!

The person testing me was nice and all, but I was given a schizophrenia diagnosis over an autism diagnosis because I "scored TOO high" on the self-report portion. Specifically through genetics, and by ignoring the family history of autism symptoms I provided. My family has no signs or history of schizophrenia. The only aspects of schizophrenia I share is the disorganized thoughts and paranoia, which can just as easily be attributed to the trauma I've suffered in early childhood. Furthermore, schizophrenia is extremely rare to see as young as four years old, and I was showing signs of autism before that - especially the sensitivity to loud sounds, stimming through various means (including arm flapping), and repeating certain words. None of these went away in teenage years or adulthood, I just got better at hiding it.Others may have better luck, but this is the second time I've left Vista feeling my testing was not done fairly or with all the information considered. I will be seeking a second opinion through another agency and will not be returning to Vista. I can't speak for others, but I personally no longer trust the staff of this establishment in their ability to hear out their clients fully and clearly.
